Order placed 23/10 in the morning from the UK store
Status: "Processing Items" Dispatched: 1 - 3 business days
Delivery estimation: 30 Oct, 2013 - 01 Nov, 2013 by Standard Shipping

Ok, the status of this ^ order has just changed to "Preparing for Dispatch". Apple's delivery estimation remains the same.

Yeah, I just wasn't thinking logically.

You might as well get the i7 too, make the best use of that extra ram.

Simple rule. Buy the highest spec you can afford regardless of use now. In 18 months time the highest spec now will be mid range or lower.

i7/16/256 :)

Im in the UK

Ordered the 13" retina top model with added 16gb RAM.

Still processing

Ordered around 10:30pm UK time 22/10

Mine is now prepping for shipment and dated 29th/30th! :(

any chance its in the uk and will arrive uk?

Ordered mine about half an hour after the presentation, still on processing (15" 2.3 i7/512gb/16gb/750m).

I expect once they eventually do take payment it will trigger a call from my credit card provider. Hope that's not already delaying things. I need this laptop in the UK for next Friday, got a day off booked!

SHIP FASTER!!! :)

For those who got shipped via FedEx, your rMBPs have five hours or so to catch the next flight to Anchorage: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX28/history/20131024/1215Z/ZSPD/PANC

EDIT: also, unless stuff changed since the last time I ordered a MacBook, FedEx packages clear customs in Anchorage. That means there is a possibility of your MBPs going to a closer FedEx hub from there. Possibilities include Oakland, Indianapolis and Memphis.

I really start to think that Apple doesn't have the 4960HQ and is waiting for delivery from Intel...

Ordered on Tuesday evening... receiving Wednesday 10/30 in DMV (std shipping)

15" rMBP
  • 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
  • 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
  • 1TB Flash Storage

I have ordered my 2.6/16GB/512 on Wed 23 Oct around 11am CET (2am PDT, so ~14 hours after the event) to the Netherlands.
Status is still "Processing items" and delivers 30 Oct - 01 Nov.

I can wait 5-7 more days. I've been waiting since early this year for the Haswell update and I'm getting the exact model I want, fully maxed out.

To me you seem like a person who constantly switches lines in a supermarket to get checked out faster only to keep entering slower queues.

There is a 2.6 and I ordered it (BTO).

Great way to put it. I've waited since February and I just had to be patient. I placed my order at 3pm on day of event and the change from processing status came yesterday evening. I just got the latest update and it left Shanghai last night and due to be delivered on Wednesday.

Even before the event, I calculated the expected delivery date. We all know BTO takes some time. Since the event was on a Tuesday, I gave a couple days to build before delivery. Even if UPS takes 2-3 days for delivery, that's shipping on Thursday and delivery on Monday/Tuesday. I'm not in town during the week so that means I don't get it until Thursday.

People just need to be patient. They're getting a custom-built system.

Finally!

Preparing for shipment (I ordered 1-2 hours after the event last tuesday).

Since in Italy Nov 1 is Holiday and Nov 2-3 is weekend, I really hope it arrives before thursday 31 (expected delivery is 30/10 - 04/11).

Rest easy. I ordered 15"/2.6/16GB/1tb and originally said 30Oct-01 Nov 1. Now, delivery is Wednesday.

rMPB 13"

I ordered a 13"/2.6/16/512 rMPB 23/10/13 at about 16.00 GMT.

Apple Store says:

Processing Items
Dispatched: 1 - 3 business days
Delivery: 31 Oct, 2013 - 04 Nov, 2013 by Standard Shipping

Hopefully it comes next week!!

I did the same. People in this forum convinced me to do so...I hope they are not starting to talk me into the i7 instead of the i5...

You should have gone all out with i7 and max ram. It's $200 for more processing power and just $200 to double ram - RAM is definitely a no-brainer.

That's even shorter. You'll probably get it on the 30 or 31st. They've been accurate regarding the dates.

I hope so! :)

I did think the delivery dates were very conservative, shouldn't really take a week to get to me after dispatch. Most of the stuff I've had from China only takes a couple of days.

Stupid credit card - called them the other day so my order wouldn't get flagged - got an email this am saying it was flagged

I'm still in the processing status as well, but now have a pending charge for my laptop after overriding the fraud detection - shouldn't be long now before it ships!

Ugh, it's now been over 30 hours since I ordered, thought for sure it would be shipped overnight, wake up and nope, nothing. Yes, let's push that 1-2 day window to the very last minute of the 3 days or beyond.

Come on. Mine's been "preparing for shipment" for two days now, put it on a damn plane!

I ordered a 13" 2.8/16GB/1TB.

For the comments of "2.6 should have better battery life", both 2.6 and 2.8 have the same TDP, which means that 2.8 will have slightly better battery life, since it accomplishes more in the same time, and draws the same power -- hence it will spend more time at idle to do the same amount of work.

Ram on the other hand*will lower battery life somewhat, since ram needs to be constantly rewritten to maintain state, even if the ram is empty and not in use.

I do wish there was a GPU in the 13", but oh well. 15" is just too big for me these days.

I ordered around 5PM, and mine shipped out yesterday, Fedex to the east coast of USA.

Estimated delivery :
Tues 10/29/2013 by 10:30 am

That is not true. Read up on it here:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/7113/2013-macbook-air-core-i5-4250u-vs-core-i7-4650u/4

Specifically - under medium to heavier load, the i5 beats i7 at the same TDP and workload by about an hour of battery life.

There is a tradeoff - you just have to decide if it's worth it for yourself.
