anyone else ask fedex to hold their shipment at a fedex location? i heard that might be faster.

Shipped, maxed out 15", FEDEX, scheduled for 10/29 AM.... Got the 'email confirmation' at 2:40 AM CST.
Mine was shipped this morning and I could track it! Then suddenly UPS lost my tracking number and said it wasn't available at this time. Now it says there's been an exception and is claiming "Late Trailer" which apparently can mean anything. I swear if they've lost my package or this gets delayed any more....

It'll probably get delayed a day. Still better than "train derailment" (which I got one time when an online store shipped something to me via UPS Ground).

My maxed out 15 inch shipped last night and is scheduled to be delivered in Arizona Tuesday the 29th with expedited shipping.
paying extra for shipping will not get your computer to you any faster
From what I've seen, assuming you ordered Tuesday the 22nd, BTO orders with regular shipping are arriving on Wednesday the 30th and orders with expedited shipping are arriving on Tuesday the 29th.

Track shipment button isn't working
I've just received the notification from Apple that mine (BTO 13") has been dispathed.
Go to ups tracking, browse to "Track by Reference" on the left, enter your order number you received when placed your order (including the W) to the appropriate field and then click track.
Don't be fooled by the expedited shipping charge folks on the site, it just means expedited processing times to make it appear that shipping will be quicker. Shipment time is the same across the board with this company. You're not paying the shipper to speed up...
