He's not the only one who reported an issue though. Didn't Samsung release an update to fix the issue too?
I get 9-10.5 hours of usage time (screen on web browsing) every single day. That is 'screen on' time, no? Which is double what the S6 owner quoted.
How can those S6 stats you link possibly equate to 4.5 hours of 'screen on' time? Something, somewhere is amiss.

If you are using the IOS battery reporting stats. It does report battery stats accurately.

Yep the S6 beats the IP6 and comes close to the IP6+ even though the 6+ has a bigger battery.
6+. I mainly web browse and get around 10 hours of use. What does "4.5 hours of screen on time' mean? Surely if you're web browsing then your screen is on.
How do you check SoT on an iPhone? I ask because I've never figured it out. It seems to lump all time on from last charge.
Edit: Also, you browse on your phone for 10 hours a day? If a person works for 8, sleeps for 8, browses... no, that math doesn't make sense. Do you not work or not sleep as much? When do you get the time to eat?
So...your were using your 6+ for 10 hours browsing the web? IOS does not report battery usage accurately. SOT is actively using your phone with the screen on. You can use your phone with the screen off. Like processes running in the background and email or listening to music or audio books and such.
Did you see the independant battery tests?
Well, the independent tests state that I can web browse for 9 hours. I can actually do a good hour longer than that but hey. They also state that the S6 can be used to browse the web for almost 11 hours, so does that involve not having the screen on for half that time? How does that work then?

I'm a rescue officer. Most of my working day is spent sat on my butt and yes, I regularly browse and play videos for 8-10 hours non-stop. Sure I stop for toilet & drinks breaks etc but I'm never off this thing. I charge my 6+ every single day and I drain it to 1% every single day. I never listen to music, the screen is on all the time.
So you actually was web browsing on your phone for 10 hours?
IOS does not report battery useage correctly. It does not break it down for you.
If I switch my fully-charged phone on and do nothing but browse the web until the battery dies, then there is sufficient info for me to determine with 100% accuracy that my phone has only been used for web browsing. What do I need breaking down here?
Anecdotal. Unscientific. Not the extent of what represents screen on time. Not indicative of daily usage...
its just hard to believe that. iOS cant verify what you are saying, so it remains hard to believe

Excuse me? You're saying that my usage patterns are 'incorrect' because they don't tally with your own? You're also saying that the 6+ is incapable of 10 hours' usage time with the screen on?

The fact that my 6+ gives 10 hours of 'screen on' usage time is hard to believe?? Even the S6 is reputed to get 10.56 hours of web browsing. How can you browse the web with the screen off?
I have no idea how they get those battery results, I have never seen a screenshot from someone with a S6 that got even close to that amount of SOT. iOS can't even show a screenshot of that info, so I'm just as unconvinced there.
So you stop for breaks? How do you take into account that time? How many tabs do you have open? What type of pages do you go on? I was never able to get 10 hours of SoT with my 6+ with my browsing habits.
Well as much as sunking critiques the 6 plus and iOS 8, if he says he's getting 10 hours I think he means it

They get that by setting up conditions that few will ever actually achieve. They reload a single webpage repeatedly over the course of hours while sitting pretty close to a router. >_>;

I'm just wondering how. Even GSMArena, whose battery tests are a joke, only got 9:05. Unless he turned the brightness down lower than 50% and sat on top of the router, it seems a bit ... fantastic.
I have no idea how many hours of on screen time my iPhone 6 gives me in a day but it lasts until I go to sleep at night so to me that is good enough lol. Not sure f it's linked to sales though.
I don't think anyone is disputing how good the battery life is on the 6+.
I have one and it is great. I think the issues are how IOS reports usage on iphones. Secondly it was a little hard to believe at first that someone would actually use their phone for 10 hours straight browsing the web. That is an extreme use case. 🙂

My N6 can almost do a day and a half.
