Mine says end of day...but its shipped by Worldwide Express. Aren't these two statements conflicting (since worldwide express is delivered by 1030 or noon)?

too bad not shipping to my work, otherwise i will get my first hand on the phone :(
 
I'm not worried. I had the phone shipped to work and the latest UPS is ever there is around 11:30 AM. FedEx, on the other hand, doesn't roll in until 2 or 3 PM.

UPS delivers pretty late to my house (around 5-7 PM), but I always get Apple products delivered to my office in case there's a signature needed.

UPS has a message on their website that all iPhones will be delivered by the end of the day on the 21st.
 
Mine says the same thing. I am not "disappointed", though, because "by end of day" is the normal time frame. I will be "disappointed" if it doesn't show up at all.
 
I actually hope mine comes late. My 4S didn't come until 7PM last year. I have to work in the morning and get my daughter at preschool, so if I miss the truck, it might be Monday before I get mine.
 
UPS has always had an End of the day delivery policy. No surprise here. If they have that policy on a typical day, I don't see how you can expect not to happen on a day in which probably close a million iPhones will be delivered (assuming half of the 2 million pre orders are US orders and deliver by 9.21)

They are shipping 1-2 million phones this week. Normal rules surely do not apply. Nor would normal rates charged to Apple. etc. etc.

Get real folks.
 
So, something interesting about this topic:

I ordered a 32GB white for myself and a 16GB black for my girlfriend. (Both through Apple at midnight). When I ordered hers, the servers weren't talking to AT&T's or something, so they had to reserver it. Long story short, the date ended up getting slipped to two weeks. However, we got an email later that day that we should expect her phone on the 21st, and that the date we were given before that was merely a mistake.

So, both are going through UPS-

Mine: In AK, UPS WorldWide Express, By end of day.
Hers: In TN, UPS NextDay Air Saver, By 3PM.

Keep in mind, it's coming to the same address. So, a part of me wonders if we will get two packages at the same time, or if they will be way off.

Either way, I was luckily unscheduled to work on Friday, so I'll be killing time anyway. Also, if I can, I'll get it pre-signed online so I don't have to stay home all day long and wait for those two packages.

Note to everyone else: this example shows how inconsistent the system is. We live in the same place, and yet we get two different shipping times. It doesn't matter where you live or when your UPS guy usually drives by. Chances are, you will get your phone at a completely random time, simply because on the 21st there are no time rules. They have to deliver A LOT of phones , plus other mail as well. Just don't over-think it. I know it's silly coming from me, but everyone enjoy the wait :) It'll just make the phone that much more sweet.

Hey thanks. I was asking a question, no reason to be rude. I'm not upset about it. I'm grateful I'll get the new phone Friday, was just curious of the two statements.
 
I posted this on another thread. Should I expect both phones Friday?

I ordered a 32 gig a 3:50 and a 16 at 3:53. The 32 was scheduled to arrive 9/21 and the 16 at 10/2. From Apples site:

I just checked with Apple on line and I did order one of each. Thought I might have made a mistake, and my CC shows billing of $319 right now. Posted yesterday.

If I get a second charge today for about $214, I believe they have combined the shipment and the 16 gig will arrive this Friday and not October 2nd.
I can't be that lucky.
