Me personally, now I'm not sure how to plan my day since this going to a different home office about 40 miles away but the safest place for me to get it.

Just want to make sure it is delivered before the end of the work day.
Wow this thread sounds its the last piece of bread left on the earth and that it's a matter of survival if it's not there at a certain time . Calm down people this is worse than watching seagulls fighting over greasy fries by the water.

Go to UPS.com, select "Track by Reference", put in your phone number used when you ordered (no apaces or dashes) and your order should come up if it's going by UPS. Not sure how you do Fedex. Apple is a little lax in updating the order statuses. (can't really blame them)

That's supposed to work even if your order status is still "preparing for shipment," correct? So if it doesn't show up that means you're getting it via FedEx?

This topic gave me a good laugh. First, people were concerned about receiving their ip5s on the 21st. Now, some are concerned about receiving the said at the end of the day . . . In general, we do create worries and concerns, yes? :p

I noticed mine updated to say that too. I figured it would come later in the day anyway, though I'm hoping it comes early since I'm teleworking that day and the fiancée wants to go do a registry for the wedding and see The Master that evening.

I swear, I've never lived in a place that isn't the end of UPS's route. I always get stuff at the end day everywhere I live. I would've gotten it delivered to work like many others, but I work in a huge 3,000+ person Department of Defense campus and wouldn't trust that it would make it to me.

Most likely. But try the phone number for the order and also the phone number of the line you're upgrading. Mine worked with my home phone number. Check the bill to section of your Apple confirmation.

Yep, mine updated to that too, today. And I'm also always at the end of the UPS route - usually get UPS at 7PM.

Just a question, mine says..

Friday, 09/21/2012, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries)

Does that mean guarantee delivery by 3? Or by end of day? I live in the suburbs

Mine says end of day but then it says 3 PM is end of day for residential. You will probably get it the same time you usually get them

depends on your UPS route driver, mine is going to work so our driver has a morning delivery as well as another delivery at about 2-3pm.

Look to see if you have an old Phone # on your account or just try it as the reference #. I changed my number on apple when I ordered but was unable to find it as a reference on UPS, then I thought to try my old # and there she is, in transit from Nashville.

No one is guaranteed to get it on the 21st anyways. Look up last years iphone 4s thread and see how many angry people had to wait until monday to get theirs delivered.

Me included. They had me waiting until 10PM with the "out for delivery" message. Customer service kept telling me that they're extremely busy and that they have until "end of day" to deliver.

Apparently end of day was Monday.

was very pointless preordering last year.

"By end of day" is typical for any shipment to a residential address. UPS focuses on businesses in the morning and residences later. Plus, "by end of day" could mean it's in your hands at 8am.

Well... not if you're watching some of THESE guys go after fries...

They want mine, they're welcome to them.

Mine says by 10:30 am though I'm not sure why UPS already has decided it will be by then (I only know this cause I have a MYUPS login, if I'm logged in, it tells me that. If I'm not, it just says by end of day).

Mine also says end of the day but our UPS guy usually comes around noon. Might be a little longer with all the deliveries he'll be making that day.

Mine changed to this today however the worldwide Express has a commitment time of 10:30 and 12 noon. Either way UPS delivers to my work address during regular business hours anyway.

I'm a little upset that they're being shipped UPS instead of FedEx. FedEx delivered my The new iPad "by 10:30am" while UPS is saying "by 3pm". I was planning on taking a half day off of work so I could play with my new toy, but if it's getting here at 3pm I'll just tough it out for the day.
