November 15th I believe

Is it me or do these colors makes the controller look like something you'd by at the Home Depot (Special Edition DeWALT Yellow version coming soon... - Photoshop anyone...)?

Just saying - for fun and discussion... :D

Gamescom: Magma Red, Wave Blue DualShock 4 Colors Announced

The red controller is kinda hot - if I were to pick up a PS4 one of these days I'd opt for a red controller.

Ok so my launch games are

Assasins Creed IV
Knack
Lego Marvel Heroes
Killzone
Watchdogs

And though I'm trying to resist : Skylanders Swap Force

After those Gamescom vids I'm very tempted to slap a preorder down just for Knack. Game looks brilliant! And Killzone too.

Looking forward to the 29th of November, only three months now!

Got Watch Dogs and BF4 ordered too, plus Driveclub and Resogun from PS Plus :D

Sony + Rackspace = XB1 Cloud equivalent

That's my theory. Openstack becomes the PS4 equivalent of XB1 Azure. Rackspace does the hosting since they have datacenters in places like Australia. Sony subsidizes cloud access for third party devs like MS is doing for XB1 devs.

Which should be good news for any PS4 gamer that wants dedicated multiplayer servers

Those indie games are looking great, I was hoping outlast or A Machine for Pigs would be out at launch(Please please announce AMFP for the PS4!)

I really miss horror games and I can't stand playing with a keyboard and mouse(don't kill me please :D )

Bless

I love that Mark Cerny said that he wants us to feel the same feeling we did when we first played games like Crash and Spyro with Knack. Naturally that makes me very happy.

Closer to the date, I think we should all post our definitive launch game lists so we can share our PSN names for some launch night fun.

I will be picking mine up at midnight and will probably play 'til sunrise so would be nice to have someone to play online with. :D

I can't wait!!! At the moment I have Killzone and Watch Dogs preordered. I have a launch version via Amazon (I preordered mine within seconds of them announcing the price at E3).

I told my wife that I'm getting a PS4 and she's getting a iPhone 5S.

Awesome!

The Wii U Members' Review Thread's been pretty informative. You launch day buyers should do a PS4 one...

I just played some Knack and Driveclub at the IFA in Berlin.

I like the new controller, it was immediately comfortable in my hands. Will have to get used to the absent start button though...

Game-wise, I hate to say that it was an underwhelming experience. Graphics weren't bad, but the jump from late current gen games to early next gen games is not dramatic, at least judging by these two builds. They had Gran Turismo 6 playable across the room, and I wouldn't say that Driveclub looked that much better. Knack seemed somewhat fun to play, pretty tight controls, but you could have easily sold it to me as a current gen game.

Things will start to get really interesting a few years down the road, when the devs have more experience with the new consoles!

I thinking you are looking at Knack the wrong way. The graphics aren't earth shattering, but I don't think it would have ran well on the PS3 due to the physics involved.

Well the graphics at this point aren't going to be earth-shattering yet, but look at how history works. The PS3 and Xbox 360 launch games only looked as good as higher end PS2 and Xbox games. Considering the PS4 and Xbox One have graphics that match if not exceed in some cases the best looking PS3 and Xbox 360 games at the end of their life cycle, just WAIT to see what we get.

Did you see the PS4 Wizard demo? That's the future of games right there. Near 1:1 Life like graphics.

I realize these are the early titles. It's just that the first time I saw Motorstorm run on PS3 in person, my jaw just about dropped. The jump from SD to HD was dramatic IMO. The technological leap to this next gen is just more incremental, as far as the immediately visible results go.

Again, it will depend on the game. A Sony exec (don't remember which one) even admitted that some PS2 games looked better than a few PS3 launch titles. The really good looking PS3 games took a bit to get going. I imagine we will have that same issue here as well. Especially with some of the games probably were being developed on the older consoles first. With that said, there are already some really good looking PS4 launch titles... Killzone for example, looks really good. From what I saw, not sure a PS3 could have pulled that off with acceptable fps.

Just need more good games instead of the usual sub-par or average games that are hyped up. Graphics RARELY make the game...Crysis anyone?

Crysis 1 was great though! A sandbox FPS that used the environment as a tool. Now Crysis 2 and 3 on the other hand... ;)

I've picked up each console on release day since the N64. I've got reservations for each of these new ones, but for the first time there are NO launch titles that I am interested in. I may cancel and wait for something good to come out next year. To each his own, but it is dissappointing to me.

i agree 100%, nothing too exciting to me. The games that are announced are games I would play at a discounted rate. Games I am looking forward too seem to start in Feb. anyways. I cancelled my preorder and will wait until my birthday next year. no regrets yet :)

I also was quite excited to see what PS4 and X1 would have game wise and surprised that nothing shown off at the keynotes has me excited (game wise) the tech is cool and great, but for me its games games games.

The Wii U has some great titles that I'll be picking up and I'm very hopeful that PS4 and X1 will have must buys by this time next year, but for launch nothing too interesting.

I bet on House of Cards S2, Frank Underwood will be shown playing a PS4 and will casually mention how fun it is to stream Gaikai to his PS Vita

This is a new pet peeve of mine. Please don't call it X1. X1 is an Xfinity product/service. The proper XBox One abbreviation as XB1 or XBOne.

Anyway, it is almost always best to wait on console releases. Though, I always buy Nintendo systems, day one. Personally, the PS4 release isn't exciting me like the PS3 release did. It may be due to the lack of a huge jump in tech and specs. Last gen had the jump to HD. That was exciting. That is perhaps why the Wii U was exciting in this new generation of the system. The PS and XB are already HD. So, there is nothing new and exciting coming in for either system.

I will be getting the PS4 in maybe 6 month to a year from launch.

How is the abbreviation X1 a pet peeve - there is no way I'm typing out XBox One every single time and I'm not going to be an idiot and call it the Xbone which sounds pretty disrespectful to me ...

In context PS4 and X1 seem to work just fine - haven't had any other complaints about that ...

Contextually X1 is fine.

It actually isn't. X1 is an Xfinity product.

Because its not the proper abbreviation. Just like you don't write P4, you write PS4. Complaints will be coming more and more as time goes on.

The other option, XB1, should work. PS4 & XB1

Xfinity isn't the only company with a "X1" product... X1 is definitely not the best abbreviation for the Xbox One, but there in nothing wrong with it especially while being used in this thread or sub-forum. In the context of this discussion, there is probably no confusion on what device the poster is referring to.

Abbreviation police, please cease and desist. :D
