It actually isn't. X1 is an Xfinity product.

Which is why I said contextually. We are in a thread about the PS4 in a console subforum. X1 more likely means Xbox One than some Comcast platform I just had to google because I had never heard of it before you mentioned it was something.
X1 just does not work. The console is not called the Xbox 1. It’s called the Xbox One. So, XO would also technically work. Though, XBO is probably the most accurate abbreviation. Even over XB1.
Options: XBOne, XB1, XBO, XO
Not an option: X1
I don’t know why this bothers me so much but it does. I’m just trying to make sure people use the correct abbreviation until Microsoft says something to the contrary.
Except you are okay with XB1. Therefore you are okay with substituting a "1" for "One". And you are okay with "XO". Hence "X1" should be acceptable. Your initial critisicm was X1 XFinity. Now your criticism is changing otherwise. I think it's just a waste of time pet peeve you're trying to validate. I really couldn't care less what people go with so long as it communicates which console they are referring to and X1 does just that.
Also this is a dumb conversation for a PS4 thread so I've had my say and I'm done... feel free to rebut if you like, but don't anticipate a response unless you blow my mind.
Still have my "Launch Day Guaranteed" PS4 on preorder with Amazon. Might cancel it though. Looking through the launch title list I'm just not seeing anything, and the few that I do want are coming to PC anyway. No different with the XBox One either. I still have time to cancel the order, just not sure if the PS4 makes sense for me... at least until some exclusives come out (like Naughty Dog titles).
Upgraded my PS4 to the killzone mega bundle and got my invite for midnight launch with freebies promised![]()

After a few Generations of being the early adopter I'm kinda tired of seeing a big ticket item sit and collect dust or just buying software I don't really want in order to use it. I had over 100 games on the PS3, some never left the shrink wrap, some got played once and thats it, I'm trying to be more cautious and careful this time around lol![]()
Yeah though many launch titles are also available on ps3/wiiU/360 I am still keeping my pre order because
1) ill get a ps4 at somepoint regardless so why not at launch and
2) if i am buying Assasins Creed, Lego Marvel and others then I may as well be playing 'the best' console version of those games if I'm paying good money rather than knowing I'm spending $50-60 on a technically inferior version.
If you can afford it and you plan on buying many of the titles that are launched (COD/Battlefield 4) etc, then why not just buy the console now and enjoy the best versions of those games and look forward to exclusives later..... your going to spend the same money eventually anyway.
