Haven't switched my PS5 on in weeks! Was looking forward to the new Assassins Creed game, but with that delayed again I dont know what to get next!

Do you need to go through the first GoW to understand the second - or can I just jump straight to the second?

There is an option to recap 2018 when starting ragnarok
I got ragnarok bundled with my ps5

An hour with it left me utterly cold
Slow. Clunky. Boring
For an action game it was nigh on all talking and walking and cut scenes

Just when I thought the action was happening it stopped just as quick and we got more walking and talking.

I’m guessing it gets better but, with a huge library of games to choose from, life is too short

Well this is just it. I did buy the 2018 one and my thoughts on that were exactly what you describe above! So much so, that I ended up selling it without even completing it. Now I'm wondering whether the second is so much better, considering how many are raving about how its a masterpiece etc! Still in two minds.....

I really wanted Assassins Creed Mirage and have been making way for that. Now thats delayed until who knows when, I need another game to get through! I like games like Last of Us, ghost of tshushmia, etc - more third person action games......

"new" GOW: The "remakes" are way less action oriented than the original games. It is worse because you can't skip all the dialog.

It just was not for me
I’m getting on in years. My spare time is limited. My gaming time even more so
If I have half hour to play a game that’s what I want to do. Play a game

I don’t want to just walk my character along corridors and scripted paths listening to them talk to themselves and then on a rare occasion mash a few buttons to have a fight which lasts half the time as the most recent monologue the character gave

And that’s without the unskipable cut scenes !

I deleted it and moved onto ghosts of Ghost of Tsushima
Again unskipable cut scenes but not that many of them and at least it allows me to play a game and do things in the short sessions I get with it

I fail to see how god of war is so wall acclaimed

Any huge difference between Fifa 22 and 23 that warranty the extra $50??

Saw Fifa 22 for $17.50 - just want something I can play with friends really (local play). Not too bothered on storylines and building/managing teams etc - just some general kickabout play!

Which is being panned (and folks are hoping the final game isn't as bad).
I felt like it really has good potential, but still as a work in progress. With the release being this close I can only assume the final game will be rather identical. Hope they'll have a good "1.1 patch" and then I'll play it.

How do I search for all demos on the Play store? Just searching for the term 'demo' doesn't always show them all?

Good question, not sure how to do that either.

------------

And I guess it's the same in other countries, but here in Belgium, the PS5 is starting to be available without any waiting lists. After more than two years...

I’m thinking, if they launch a PS5 Slim this year I may take a look at it, replace my launch PS4 with it. But a new Switch looks likely next year too hmm. Lol. The HBO show is making me want to fire up TLOU again.

my card was just charged the 211.99 for the dualsense edge, so i'm assuming that's about to ship.

I also would like to hear your experiences with the DSE, especially about how the replaceable joystick modules work. I’m tired of feeding the Sony revenue machine every year when one stick–or both sticks– wears out on the standard controllers by design.

it is insulting that instead of using hall effect sticks or some other more durable method, they opted for this. planned obsolescence is the model. it sucks, but it's what we have. I wanted it mainly for the paddles, honestly. I used the back button attachment on the ps4 quite a lot, and have been missing them for the 2 years I've had a PS5.

Now on the other hand, I've owned 4 or 5 PS5 controllers because of stick drift issues. That is a huge problem that they've clearly addressed with the swappable sticks. As much as I hate it, only having to spend $20 to fix that issue is much more appealing than $70.

Read about rumors that they will be releasing a new "normal" PS5 where the disk drive is removable, so they can cut costs in the manufacturing process.

Yeah I heard that it isn't a "Slim" model either. I've heard conflicting reports on a PS5 Pro versus just going to PS6.
