So Ive been playing Jedi Survivor for the past week or so, and honestly, I'm underwhelmed. I just don't feel there's anything 'new' that hasn't been done before. The combat system is still a little clunky, and there are parts where there are so many puzzles that it becomes frustrating - solve one puzzle and walk straight into the next so you stall again, then finally get through that to get to another room with another puzzle. It gets annoying.

Graphics are OK, nothing wow, and obvious frame rate drops at times when playing on the quality mode - so you'll want to go with performance mode instead if that bothers you.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through the game, and I find myself now playing for the hell of it. Not really enjoying it too much. Will most likely sell it when done.

I just logged into my PS account, first time in a couple of years - I was rather shocked to see that I've been a member since 2008. I'm not trying to do some weird flex, but rather that I was surprised I've been on the playstation for 15 years

Play through The Last of Us - both parts.
Such masterpieces!

I played Jedi Fallen Order. I thought that game had a good story, graphics were good, game play was fairly good as well I guess you could consider the the game play like a platforming game. Sadly it took EA this long to figure out how to produce a decent star wars game just as their exclusive on star wars comes to an end.

I didn’t play the first one, and will most likely sell survivor. I can’t really be bothered to play it any more - just back and forward between the same planets, clunky combat, and constant puzzles. Just didn’t really feel it……

Was really looking forward to Assassins Creed Mirage, but who knows when that will finally be released!

I hope Mirage returns to the originals mechanics, I skipped Valhalla after giving up on Odyssey.

They've said they will be returning to how the original was, which is why it's subject to some hype, but yes, I know exactly what you mean!

So amazon delivered the console yesterday, I spent most of my free time afterwards making room next to the TV (man the cable octopus that was back there was horrible) and then getting everything updated.

One question I have is, Playstation plus extra vs premium. I'm not sure which one. Horizon Forbidden West is 70 60 dollars. Basically the cost of a single game is around a year's worth of subscription (depending on the tier)

I'm not sure that the benefit of the premium are worth the cost

  • PlayStation Plus Essential — includes multiplayer access, two monthly downloadable games, discounts, and cloud storage for game saves. Priced at $9.99 per month or $59.99 a year.
  • PlayStation Plus Extra — includes everything in Plus Essential and access to a catalog of up to 400 PS4 or PS5 games. Priced at $14.99 per month or $99.99 a year.
  • PlayStation Plus Premium — includes all benefits from Essential and Extra, with an extra 340 games that include PS3 titles that can be streamed and some original PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games. Time-limited game trials also available. Priced at $17.99 per month or $119.99 a year.
To be honest PS+ Essential is the tier I would stick with because the other two tiers are basically PS Now add-ons which I never really used when it was a separate service. Though I suspect that eventually Sony will pull a MS and basically depreicate the Essential Tier (like how basic XBL is "shunned" in favor of GamePass).

Yes, but here's the thing. Do I want to spend 60 dollars on a game plus 60 dollars for Essential? Or spend a 100 and I get to play this and many other games for that 100 bucks with Extra. Obviously I'll want other games and here's where a subscription can save you money. The downside is you don't own the games

I can't keep up with the backlog I already have. Extra is not for me! :D

For me, I'm just starting off again. After work, I'll either start GoW or Horizon zero dawn - I think I a replay of the original will get me reacquainted before starting forbidden west.

I just finished Ragnarok and need to finish Horizon Forbidden West.

I'm at the very beginning of the game - like 40 minutes into it. Its not the type of game that I would buy but it came with the PS5, nor had I played any earlier GoW games. With that said, its pulling me in.

They are good at story telling, that is for sure.

I wasn't sure how I would take the cut scenes at the beginning. Sometimes you really want to jump into the action, but I can see the developers painting a picture.

I would stop and play the 2018 GoW reboot before playing Ragnarok. 100% serious. The stories are tied deeply together. Plus 2018 was a lot of fun.

For what ever reason - I'm really enjoying the PS5 way more then the Xbox. I think for me, its the total package. Since I'm an old playstation gamer, the UI makes more sense. I think the controller is better ergnomically. I like how by default it can be recharged and I don't have to keep feeding batteries. The game selection is better. There's so many more games that I want to try and play then what is available on the xbox. That's not to say xbox games are bad, but I think the Playstation has a healthy mix of games that I want to play.

I used to be a XBox user previously as I found the controllers much more comfortable in the hand. I love the new PS5 controllers now since they have been reshaped a little - much more comfortable.

One thing I like about XBox is the cross-platform compatibility with PC, especially if you have the XBox Live membership. The ability to install a lot of those games on either PC or the XBox (or both if you really want to) gives you flexibility if you own both an XBox and a PC.

Yes, that's one of the major reasons for getting the Xbox, but in practice I just didn't play it much. Its like do I use the Xbox or my PC. I opted for the PC, and even then, the the xbox exclusives just didn't grab me. I played some of the halo games but they didn't suck me into the franchise like it did for others.

... if you own both an Xbox and a PC.
I can't imagine very many people buying a Microsoft Xbox, who don't already own a Windows PC.
And if your PC is still modern enough to run those same games, why even buy an Xbox?

Cause those folks probably want to play games on their couch with a big screen?
