I have to admit that I don’t like to read reviews or watch trailers if I know I want to watch a movie or play a game. And with Kena, I fell in love when I saw the first trailer many years ago. Despite being cross gen (like many PS5 titles), it truly looked next gen back then, and something irrational in me told me “I have to play this game… eventually”. Guess that day has come.

I just watched a spoiler free review. It's quite "short" at 10-15hours long. This is actually good. Many open world games are too long at 40-100 hours. Half way through some of them start feeling chory and repetitive.
It’s funny, isn’t it? Because back in the day when I was younger, I really wanted the games to last as long as possible. I posted more than 100h to the original PS2 Okami. And uncountable hours to many Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest games.

However, nowadays, I know that a long game is almost certainly a guarantee that I’ll end up leaving it before ending it. So I no longer mind getting shorter games, honestly.

Happy with my Slim and the Additions and Mods. Added a 2TB Kioxia NVMe that has gone up $70 in a month, but seemed like a ok deal at the time. I also added an external 2.5 1tb HDD for the PS4 games taken from the PS4 this replaced. Basically been playing Oblivion Remastered since getting it, though I have a couple other games lined up for when I get tired of that.

The purple side plates are currently no longer sold on amazon. The purple skin was pretty easy to install.

what do you guys use your usb ports for on your PS5?

I have the charging cable for DualSense always connected, external DAC and a USB keyboard for chatting in multiplayer games and w/ PSN friends. And I use the USB-C port for backing up / importing PS4 saves with a USB drive

Quick question for those of you using the PlayStation app on iOS 26: does it have a dark mode icon? Or is it always blue with the P letter in white?

I’m asking because I kinda recall that it had a dark mode icon but now, after reinstalling it, it’s not switching…

I do run my iPhone in dark mode and the Playstation app is blue with a white P, but I dont have it on any of my screens, I use the search function to pull it up as it is not an app I regularly use. Most of the time it is hidden.

Well guys, I'm in. Just bought a PS5 Slim 1TB.

Really like the size and the design. I hope it last me at least 2-3 years or even more if the PS5->PS6 transition happens as the PS4->PS5 where a lot of game went out to PS4 too.
I'll probably skip the PS6 gen and keep the PS5 as my cross-gen console. I'm not really that bothered by "old" graphics and the leap to PS7 will feel more impressive that way. Getting 60fps + ray-tracing isn't enough for me to pay up. Also with the upcoming RAM wars I shudder thinking about how expensive PS6 will be. It almost makes me hopeful that the PS5 gen lasts until 2028-2029 plus another 5 cross-gen years because of it. It feels like there has been very little exclusives so that'd allow this gen to be more fruitful.

I'm enjoying the Portal. It will be really cool for traveling, if the hotels have good wifi!

I think they should have another go at a small streaming box that connects to a tv. Basically the Portal tech, but with an HDMI out instead of a screen, linked with your normal Dualsense Controller.

I know they had the "Playstation TV" a few years back that was basically that, and it was only mildly successful. But their streaming tech has matured a lot since then, cloud streaming on the Portal works great, so it could be worth another shot.

Wow guys… I’m so glad I purchased my PS5 Pro back this past summer. Not only because it was a great deal, but also because all this memory and storage crisis is probably going to make electronics prices go up eventually, and I’ve already read that the PS6 could be delayed until 2029-30.

If you’re thinking about grabbing a PS5, slim or pro, new or second hand, with or without disc drive… just do it. I don’t think it’s worth waiting for the PS6 anymore, if it’s true that we won’t have it until the end of decade.

By the way, I’ve been waiting a long time to get the first Spider-Man, the PS5 remastered edition, and it’s always at 50-60€… does anyone know if there’s a reason for that? I mean, the remaster was released in 2023, but we’re talking about a 2019 game!

Maybe I’ll have to grab it in physical format in the second hand market and then sell it once I’m done with it. Do you know if this game has a new game + feature or something to make it more replayable?
