Black sport band
Ordered 4/21

Delivery May

I wonder when we will find out what the delay was with these. I knew I had a later window before placing my order. Wasn't going to chose a different model just because it would ship sooner.

I don't mind waiting, but of course would be nice to get it soon. ;)

Still no movement on mine. But I have the dreaded June date. 42mm brown leather stainless steel. April 15th order.

42mm Stainless Steel with a light brown leather loop.

Ordered @ 9 am on 4-10, 4-6 week window.

I understand that waiting to order until 6 hours after launch means a delay, and I don't mind it. Still, it would be nice to know what the issue is, and have an idea as to when it would be resolved. And yes, while I know the "you were given a delivery window chorus" is waiting to verbally stone me, Apple themselves coming forward to say many who had similar delivery windows would see early shipments negates that argument.

Agreed, not knowing what is going on with these bands and the others that apparently have issues (modern buckle and pink sport) is what is getting some upset, don't blame them. I'm one of them questioning why others get there's before me when I ordered within 5 minutes...

I just have to keep telling myself 5/13-5/27

Same here, but when placing the order online at launch the Mianese loop didn't have the 4/24 shipping window. I ordered the 42 SS BCB because it had the 4/24 shipping window. I would have ordered the Milanese if I had known it would have showed up. Super lame!!

42 SS Black Classic Buckle, are you sure?

Yep, the first post in the "Show off your apple watch" thread is a 42mm black classic buckle!

Man this thread is boring......oh wait none of us have had anything happen with our orders  So leather loop people, have you been avoiding un boxing videos like the plague? I have....are you hoping the quality control is better for ours since we had to wait? Seen a few pictures of issues...have you started looking for people out and about at the grocery store that were lucky enough to get one today (secretly considering smashing them in the head with that strangely hard, out of season melon and running off with their watch)....or have you wondered.....why if time goes slower when you look at your watch constantly, is going even slower without one???

Never have I been so dissapointed to wake up and check my balance to find £599 hasn't been taken out!

I think if anything it will be beneficial nonetheless to give Apple a few weeks to release a software update or two to fix a few bugs, keep thinking positively everyone!

Still nothing.
Did anyone see movement w Loop

Nope. It's not happening.

It's a $900 order with AppleCare and Charger.

If I do not hear anything until Friday or the following Monday (not the next),
I will cancel this nightmare.

I know Apple doers not care, but I will not wait 9 month in total for a first gen product. I will wait for 2016 if this is not happening.

A new iPhone has so much more potential, I'm happily spending money on that in September. I'm not even sure what the Watch can acTually do that I really want.

If I don't see any movement by Monday I'm going to cancel and re-order with a sport band, which will obviously ship much sooner. Personally, the band was just a spur of the moment choice and I don't really care about any particular one.

Had I known that it would dictate whether or not I would get it this week or next month, I would've never chosen it. Frankly, the way they've rolled this out is terrible, those who have received theirs though, feel free to flame me.

They should've called it a lottery, not a release.

I placed a 'backup' order for a 42mm SS with black sport band a few days ago. Whichever one ships first, I'll just cancel the other order. Even if they both ship at the same time, you can always return one of them.

I'm with you man, I just ordered the white sport.

Any movement on just the bands? Or will those be held until the watches go out?

I have been pretty calm through this release. Apple hasn't violated any of their agreements. Even if they were later than 5/27, they still haven't taken payment, so I can't really complain.

If this happened I would be a little bit annoyed.

While this is true, it's a hard sell when that exact same agreement led to most others receiving theirs long before getting yours. The field is based on availability and I do get that, however it feels underhanded because it was never disclosed.

Are you sure it was never disclosed? I was a few minutes late to the 2 am party, but seem to remember seeing 4-6 weeks on the app before I 'bought' it and then in the 'confirm purchase' window, and then in the confirmation email as well.

Yes it sucks, but I don't know what else they could've done to be clear that it was not gonna happen on 4/24, I guess send an email to everyone on their iPhone distribution with inventory numbers? That seems silly though.

Let's put it this way, both the white sport and the leather loop said shipping is 4-6 weeks within 2 or 3 minutes of the store opening. How could anyone have known the white would go out immediately while the loop was being withheld?

I get what you're saying, technically they were correct, but it was stilly shady. We should expect better from Apple.

I went to the Apple website before the preorder and favorited the watch with blue leather loop, just as Apple recommended. I could not log into the Apple Store website until about 7 or 8 minutes after the launch started.

When I finally got logged into the store, I saw the 4-6 week message, and just thought they had sold through the inventory for the initial launch. I didn't even think about looking at other models. I just wanted to get my order in as quickly as possible.

It's obvious now that Apple had some sort of issue with the loop bands, as well as a few others. Why didn't they let us know this when we favorited the watches? They should have let us know ahead of time which models would be available for 1st wave delivery.

Having taken part in several Apple product launches, I know it's a mad dash to get your order into their system. I just didn't think about searching through all the sku's to find one that would ship for launch day.

When people are setting their alarms to wake up in the middle of the night, it's obvious that they are the early adopters and the biggest Apple fans. These are the people who want to get their product on launch day, otherwise they would just wait until morning.

Yesterday was like Christmas without any presents. I will try to wait patiently for my watch to arrive, but I'm very disappointed. I'm a huge Apple fan and will continue to be, but they made some serious mistakes with this launch.

I really think it's a good idea to see only four models with a sport band and let people buy a band later.

38mm
42mm

Aluminum
Space Gray
Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel Black

White Sport band
Black Sport band

This would limit the packaging to 16 different products that Apple could have pre produced much easier. Even 16 with only two bands is a lot of products.

Consider all other combinations.

Now it looks like they are producing based on demand, which I think is bad because people will cancel or return. Nobody knows what happens with the returns.

So even if Apple tried to be really smart, they still cannot predict how orders will distribute across all models.

If people start selling, because they ordered multiple versions, other people will cancel which makes things more complicated for Apple.
