They wipe ships and money? How does this relate to ship you purchase?
as diamond.g said you only lose money and ships you bought with in game money. Your pledge ship ie the one you pay with real money for never goes away and is your starting point when a full wipe happens.

The latest update certainly feels much smoother and in one ship things were fine tuned in terms of lighting and looked really good. I was going to take out the mother of all ships the 890 Jump but it seems there is a glitch at the moment and the elevators do not work with it so I can't get on board.

Like a dummy I set my home as Area 18 instead or Orison (like I usually do) and got to experience all the hangar glitches. I don't like taking missions to New Babbage either, for that same reason. I hope they can get the concurrent server slices at these ports worked out.

I have always set my home to New Babbage, I like the city layout and how clean it looks. I always get lost in Orison, Lorville and others. I have not tried getting into other ships yet so not sure if the glitch is just with the 890 or any ship that uses an elevator to get in.

Just ones purchased with in game money and as far as I can tell they seem to not plan on doing that until the full version ships.

Ships purchased with real money you keep (I guess until the insurance goes into effect).
Any guess on how much the subscription… I mean insurance will be when it goes into effect? 😉

Having played Eve Online for 4 years in the past, I can tell you that PvP in high sec completely ruined my interest in games that allows such actions everywhere.

It was allowed because one could declare war on a specific player corporation.
As an industrial corporation, we were not interested in warfare or PvP combat.
Several consecutive wars just ensured almost no-one would log in. Or people leaving the corp.

It is very costly both in terms of time and resources, to try the industrial route, if PvP focused gamers can destroy you at any time. To defend yourself you also have to acquire the gear/ship skills for combat.

While the PvP players don’t need to concern themselves with any industrial capabilities.
Be it mining, manufacturing or hauling.
I tried Eve a while back and decided no there too. These new “old” days I tend to avoid online, multiplayer PVP games others than of the short 10-15min battle types, Metal Storm, World of Warships, or a War Thunder type game, where there is no real hardware jeopardy (even when it’s destroyed), as it is repaired after, although at the higher levels of World of Warships or Tanks, you can loose in-game $$ if you consistently do poorly.

As of right now I am not sure. Every ship comes with at least 3 months of insurance (for now). I just bought the Aurora MK2 cause it has lifetime insurance (that and the wings moving is cool).

Ok, since the last time I played this, I upgraded my video card, maybe I’ll give it another shot. I’ve got some $70 ship that was gifted to me. I’ve been using an X-box controller on other games with flying, , will see if that is compatible.

I’ve got it installed, just getting the nerve up to see what is what, and the many tutorials….😐

I think the tutorial is useful as long as you don't crash the ship they give you (I couldn't figure out how to continue it when I crashed). Allegedly you can hire a game guide. Though I dunno how one does that precisely. Faffing around and googling is my go to for figuring stuff out.
