But then he'd be stuck using an android device.... who wants to do that?!

Well, I would, for one. Been using a 4G Droid Bionic w/ extended battery since they were released around August-September of last year, on an unlimited data plan with tethering. So far the Bionic has worked great, I get terrific data speeds, and there's nothing an iPhone can do that the Bionic can't.

When Apple comes out with an iPhone that supports 4G LTE and has respectable battery life (I don't doubt it'll happen), most likely later this year, I'll switch. No problem. But until that happens I'll already have had a year of using blazing fast 4G LTE data on an Internet capable mobile device. Best of both worlds.

See? Hot issues like this can be discussed rationally and calmly without namecalling, elitism, or hyperbole. It would help you to learn how to do that instead of just blindly bashing non-Apple products and looking like a snarky jerk.

ok, who cares, apparently we are suppose to if you write it?

People on your train are more akin to country club members, than public beach users.

What does that mean?

How is that not an ignorant statement?

Are people on your train better people than what you find on a beach?

Why are beach goers beneath you and your train riding brethren?

Does your wife sign her name with the prefix of Trophy Wife?

----------

Don't make ignorant assumptions of my life, like boldly declaring that I do not have money.

Narcissism, Elitism, an bragging are all character flaws that do not play well on the internet, consider this an education, if you dare to venture onto any other forums, with common folk and beach goers.

When the thread starts talking about LTE service and degrades into a brag-fest over where you live, your trophy wife (yeah, real classy), your Rolexes, and beach house, you sound like you are just being a jerk about it.

Sorry, gotta agree with this...the OP's sig is a bit over the top. Who needs to know that he's got an unlimited data plan, 3 Rolexes, a BMW, and a beach house on an Apple discussion forum? And this is the first time I've seen anyone put the price he paid (which is MSRP, what's so special about that?) in a signature. That's not elitist or snobby, just strange.

By the way...Rolexes are a dime a dozen. IWC and Bell & Ross are where it's at. :)

Bragging about a Rolex is like bragging about a BMW. Nothng special to me.

Quality product, that most anyone can buy if they truly wanted...

Fixed that for you.

I hear you but what I am saying is that even if you cannot afford one today, I bet most coud find the means to get one relatively quickly (especially anyone reading these forums) if they absolutey wanted one to an obsessive state.

Ps
I know my statement is a little exaggerated but the point is that these material objects are nothing to brag about as they are mass market and readily available to all

You're absolutely right - from a pure supply-and-demand standpoint, without consideration for costs.

Oh, I don't know about that...bragging rights is pretty much the only thing a trophy wife is good for. :)

I'm not in Manhattan or even is the U.S, im in Canada, Montreal and this a speeds test I just took 5 min ago and holy cow speedman, it's lightning fast!

Why would you expect those speeds on an iPhone 4S?? It's not 4G LTE compatible.

In Manhattan during the week, you are lucky to get GPRS speeds on AT&T's "4G" HSPA+ network, even though theoretically it is capable of 14.4Mbps and in an uncrowded area 5-8Mbps is realistic.

Nice. That's twice as fast (downloads) as my Verizon FiOS connection.

I get a huge kick out of reading OP's threads

Vastly entertaining! But, I do start feeling sorry for everyone who falls for it, so I feel compelled to periodically point out:

Tongue in check, folks, tongue in cheek. Don't take things so seriously.

Carry on.

You did not have to wait for new iPad to enjoy LTE. You could have had LTE-enabled Android device for one year now.

And instead of waiting on his data connection, he could wait on the slow page rendering and laggy scrolling :D

I have an iPhone 4S and I'm not getting anywhere near those speeds in Manhattan. I'm in the fashion district.

The 4S isn't an LTE enabled device. Says "4G" on the display but it's the same 3G caliber network. The iPhone 5 will be LTE.
