Okay, so I made a total ass out of a while ago.

I was going from the grocery to the car when I noticed a clunker in a handicapped spot with a license plate that said "STIGG."

I got a kick out of it, briefly entertained the idea of taking a picture but thought better of it and went to my car and loaded groceries.

As I was coming out of the parking lot, I noticed an older black guy loading his stuff into the car. He must have been in his 60s or 70s but he had a BT earpiece, so he wasn't OLD old.

As I drove by, I stuck my head out the window and said, "Hey, nice plates!" Then, for some reason I can't quite fathom I found myself saying, "Hahaha, so you're the black Stig, hahaha!" as I drove by. As I was saying this, it occurred to me that Stig was spelled with one G and not two and this guy was WELL outside the Top Gear demographic.

A few seconds after that, I found myself sliding down my seat b/c I had a feeling that he probably thought I was some dumb, racist punk and from that dirty look I got in the rearview mirror, I think I was right.

If you go over to the forums at finalgear.com and register, you'll find a thread somewhere in there (not that hard to find but I'm not posting any direct links to it just in case....) that has links to download the latest episode from RapidShare. Sign up for a RapidShare premium account to remove download restrictions (It's around $10 for 30 days, it depends on the USD/EUR exchange rate though, worth it for Top Gear). The links are usually posted around 20 minutes after the episode finishes airing. Episodes finish airing at 3 PM central time, using this method I'm usually watching it by 3:45....this depends on your internet connection speed though.

The free torrent is available 30 minutes after the episode airs.

Yeah I usually get them from Final Gear... I'll have to try the rapidshare thing though, I usually just wait for the posts on the main site...

Does watching is 20 minutes after airing vs. 1 day after airing really make a difference? C'mon...

This is Top Gear, of course it matters.... how could you be so blasphemous :p:D

I missed the beginning too, the tennis was on, saw that Top Gear was starting at 8.30, comeback at 8.20 to find I missed a bit DOH. Look for repeat during the week.

Not the greatest all though entertaining, that comedian was pretty dull apart from the lap he did.

I missed the first 7 minutes or so, just caught the end of that AMG Black thingy.

Heh, at first I thought that James May bit with that rally man was going to be a bit boring. Oh my
And I rather liked Michael Mcintyre.

Not one of the best episodes. The bit with James and the rally driver was pointless and over choreographed.

Looking forward to Sunday's episode, it looks like a good one. And for the first time in awhile, I can say that I'm looking forward to the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment! :D

It was arguably my favorite episode of the Series to date.

I've never seen Michael Mcintyre, so maybe that helped, but I thought he was hilarious. And his lap was just bonkers.

I also loved James May and Ken Block's segment. May's "1000 Yard Stare" as they went over the jump was great. And the cinematography was excellent, but then I happen to love Time Warp on the Discovery Channel. :p

And finally some actual news in The News.

I did find the "Cheap Car Review" rather dull. It reminded me of the "find a 'pearl' among a collection of cars from the Pacific Rim" from 05x09, though not as funny.

The SL65 Black is just nuts. The SLR may be another ~100.000GBP, but it at least can go around corners. Of course, I'd save ~100.000GBP and just buy an SL600 (since JC already noted the extra power of the SL65 is useless when he reviewed it), though Richard noted that the extra power of the SL600 was useless with the top down.

Well, don't want to give too much away then.
New Focus RS looks really nice. Saw the one they tested at Goodwood the other week. Quite liking the Porsche Panamera as well. Good alternative to the M5. As for the episode itself, I quite liked the last part, but it did just seem to be an advert for the British Army's new vehicles that have finally replaced the crappy old Snatch Land Rovers

Live ammo, my arse! A lot of it was badly realised CGI.

Still, it's shame it wasn't real bullets, what with Clarkson being in the car an' all. *insert suitably evil smiley*

Unfortunately I never. My Sky+ started recording after the first 20 minutes for some reason

I'lll have a quick search on YouTube for it, cheers.

LOL Jeremy mentioned a welcome to those who have Sky+ 20 min into the show this week.

Usain Bolt was quick in the average car, quite a lap.

The Panamera was awesome, but it seemed a whole lot like an advert for the 'tremendous operation' of Royal Mail. The Army thing seemed to be the same (but showed that they couldn't neutralise a moving target very well if they were using live rounds ), however I really felt sorry for that Evo 8!

Although desperately uncharismatic during the interview. I don't know, given his exuberence and celebrations at winning races, I just expected someone with more presence but he was just dull.

Just bumping this thread. I will be able to watch the ep tomorrow and will have more to say then. I look forward to the XFR review.

I'll refrain from giving anything away until you've seen it then :)
Although, the 'challenge' while entertaining, was silly.
