well good, i well cant wait but i bet like last time there will only be 6 episodes.

6 is enough... the series before last suffered because they didn't have the material to support 12 shows, rendering some of them... dull.

there was only 6 spisodes in the last series. plus the winter special

i dont think you are a real top gear fan - go back to 5th gear and the analysis of how they corner bends (yawn!) :D

Indeed, but the series prior to that was at least... what 12?? They didn't have enough content to fill that many shows, and frequently contained nothing but filler material, whilst sailing dangerously close to the old 'Clarkson' talk show format of a few years ago.... which incidently dropped like a knackered lift. ;)

yeh, i think the usual series has 12 (or maybe 10). i would much rather have 52 episodes of top gear with not alot on than some crumby antiques programme though!

I'd agree if they got The Schmitz in. :)

Wonder if the Stig will ever be able to play with the Veyron...

I wonder what time it'll do around the test track.
But, I assume whoever owns the one Top Gear was able to "test" last season, probably didn't dare let ol' Stiggie have a spin :D

If I owned a Veyron, I'd rather let a professional racing driver take it around a closed track than let someone who isn't a pro driver drive it on public roads from Italy to England. Besides, the owner could always dress up like the stig and drive it themselves, they've done that before

Best programme on TV. :D

Would I come off as sad if I told you I downloaded season 1-6, in one 26GB torrent? ;)
I did that too :D Of course, in the US, downloading Top Gear is our only way of seeing it.

Not sure about that.... having a racing driver burning across the track stressing the car to its absolute limits in an attempt to break the lap record, would get me on my nerves. ;)

For a timed lap?
Unless the owner is some sort of professional racing driver, I doubt the lap time would do his car any justice.

Its been done with a couple cars. The Maserati MC12 and Renault F1 car are two that I can think of that were driven by their owners dressed as the Stig.

I dunno but who is the stig??? I know it used to be Perry McCarthy but who replaced him, any ideas??

i cant remember his name but its an ex touring car driver i think - tim harvey at a guess?

As an afterthought, the Renault F1 is owned by Heikki Kovalainen who is the Renault F1's test driver. In the winter olympics episode, the jumper is thought to be Dan Lang

This is what we know of the Stig:

* He was born in space.
* He forages for wolves at night.
* He sleeps upside down like a bat.
* His sweat can be used to clean precious metals.
* His skin has the texture of dolphins.
* If you tune your radio to 88.4 FM you can actually hear his thoughts.
* He does not see like humans do, instead he sees numbers in green scrolling down (a reference to the The Matrix).
* He is scared of bells.
* He once punched a horse to the ground.
* His politics are terrifying.
* He lives in a tree.
* He likes DragonBoarder.
* He was raised by wolves.
* He appears on high-value stamps in Sweden.
* His favourite philosopher is Immanuel Kant.
* He has no understanding of clouds.
* His earwax tastes like Turkish Delight.
* He is confused by stairs.
* He naturally faces magnetic north.
* He is illegal in 17 U.S. states.
* His heart ticks like a watch.
* His personal hero is pEeDy.
* All his legs are hydraulic.
* He can "accumbularate".
* He appears on Japanese banknotes.
* There's an airport in Russia named after him.
* He is wanted by the CIA.
* His breath smells of magnesium.
* He can catch fish with his tongue.
* His tears are adhesive.
* If set alight, he'd burn for a thousand days.
* He is terrified of ducks.
* His voice can only be heard by cats.
* He has two sets of knees.
* He can swim seven lengths underwater.
* He has webbed buttocks.
* He can melt concrete on contact.
* He is more machine than man.
* His heart is in upside down.
* His teeth glow in the dark.

Owned? I don't think so. Sure he gets paid a lot, but he doesn't own the Renault F1 car he drives. I'm guessing the owner is .... er.... Renault? :rolleyes:

I was only really watching bits of it and missed most of the ending... but did I really see a fire in a car wash or did I just imagine that? :eek:
