FXX would be awesome, but seeing as its not a road-car

Rumours hinted that is might be in the U.S.

But still... I'd like to see what it could do round the track. :D

The FXX isn't street legal in the US. Some rich, lucky bastard here in St. Louis has one. It basically sits at the Ferrari dealer on display until he wants it transported to a track of his choice for him to drive and race there. I've heard there's something like a $20,000 fine from Ferrari if they catch you driving it on the streets.

You'd have to be mentally insane to drive a $1.8million car on public roads anyways.

Yeah I can't wait to see the Veyron on the track, though I'm curious how civilized it will be. Given all the traction control and whatnot, will it eventually hinder its performance?

That pink Nissan thing was hilarious though. :D

Saw yesterdays episode as it reran today on BBC2.. fracking awesome. ;) I love the convertible espace, and I love that kind of top gear.. its hilarious. "Run.. just.. run."

So are they getting the Veyron?

I don't believe so, no. I realize now in my post it made it look like they might be. They do mention how badly they wish they'd have been able to put it on the track.

Watched channel 5's 5th Gear tonight as there wasn't anything else on, what a load of *****! They even managed to interview a guy with a garage full of every supercar you care to shake a stick at and not make it sound interesting. Including two Konegsingingsegs and a Porsche GT he hadn't gotton round to driving yet 'cause he's been busy at work......*******!

Incredible, wasn't it. A garage that very few others in the world could put to shame, yet you could quite easily just nod off while they showed you round.

omg 5th gear sux0rs.

I love that the guy wore an anorak while he showed you round his ~£10m worth of cars, and they had a 'what is cool' expert in to decide which of their cheap cars was best who said that Toyota were top of the game for cool cars partly because their cars came with an 'iPod adapter' for the stereo (Aux in) Mmmmmm... experts.

Now I did love seeing Jay Kay's garage on Fifth Gear, but only because I'm a diehard Jamiroquai fan.

I watched an episode of 5th Gear, and I just didn't like it. It's missing something that Top Gear has. Can't quite put my finger on it. It certainly lacks the humor that makes TG funny, but even with humor aside, 5G just lacked something

A Mistake on the BBC web site ?

just opened up the topgear site so i could view the last show

opened with Windows media and then open in seperate player

and this option popped up :D

SAVE AS SOURCE:p

I haven't seen 5th Gear in quite a while... so I can't comment.

Bit disappointed with Top Gear to be honest, The Stig crashing was funny, but like Mr Ed, I'm of the impression that the carwash thing was staged.

The rest of it was dull though. :( and if the sting was anything to go by, the rest of the series looks to be rather content light too. :(

You've got a point, though we don't have many car shows to pick from (let alone good ones!!) so we love whatever we can get!

Top Gear usually starts off really strong... with lots of tasty content, last weeks was just... don't get me wrong... it's still more entertaining than most programs, but 3/4 of it was dull, hacking a roof of an old Espace... ho-ho-ho.

It's still sailing dangerously close to his old 'Clarkson' style as well. The whole 'new look' thing has been hyped before it started... and I was hoping we'd see a change in format, but it's the same as the last series.

But with less content and more Clarkson.

I thought the Espace thing was funny. I think the humor is what 5th Gear is lacking.

I like Top Gear, but as someone else said, being in America, thats our only choice for real car shows. Over here, we have crap like Pimp My Ride, and other ricer shows.

Yeah, we need ABC to be the American BBC. We have the technology, we can rebuild it.

I get BBC America on my digital cable. BBCA just needs to show Top Gear, in unedited form (not the bastardized discovery channel crap) and problem solved :D I don't even know what BBCA shows, I just know it isnt Top Gear.

Just DL'd and watched it....

I thought it was pretty good, but I have only watched three seasons of Top Gear so I'm not quite sick of Clarkson yet...but to be honest the show needs a different cast or something - not that I don't like May or Hammond, but they need to put Clarkson in his place more often. That's why I really miss Sabine.

The Espace thing was definitely staged, but I liked it anyway.

The more I see of the CCR/CCX, the more I like it...:) And watching the Stig kiss the wall was pretty entertaining.

I think it's hilarious that they are badging Korean cars as Chevys over there - I honestly think it is because they are better cars than the "real" ones like the Impala and Cobalt.

I've been trying to find some old episodes from the 80's or whenever when Clarkson first joined - maybe he was more entertaining when he wasn't an old fart.

Clarkson joined in the earlish '90s... ;) Top Gear in the '90s was exactly like 5th Gear is today, (and had maintained pretty much the same format since the '80's... but presented by 2 gents who were pretty errrr.... old school. ;)) which is understandable considering Five nabbed Top Gear's presenters. :p

The only thing that revived Top Gear was a complete change of format, it was originally cancelled by some stupid cow, that wanted a more 'womens' friendly schedule.

I've got hold of the late 80's - early 90's episodes, but they aren't entertaining at all, IMHO. Even worse: they are boring.
They are the Fifth Gear of that period. Just a normal 30-minute show about normal cars...

Sure, Clarkson is an old fart :)D), but he is what makes the show tik. It's the humor and style of it all. Racing around in the world's most exotic cars, bashing up caravans and just having fun.
If Clarkson were gone, Top Gear would be no fun.

EDIT:

Pretty much agree with iGav, then :D
