2006: How did you choose your username? (now merged into The True Meaning Of MR Members Name)[/indent]
I knew I had seen something like that recently....I killed that thread. Well, not literally, but I was the last person to post in a popular thread before it quickly faded into vB oblivion - or is there another word to describe that?

My nick here was originally OutThere761....which was originally an aim screen name.

I made a bunch of AIM screen names before settling...

skunk1
Route 66 (kind of cool...wish I knew the password still)
EvansLake
...

one night I was chatting with a friend on "EvansLake" and trying to come up with a new screen name. I settled on "OutThereSomewhere" which, of course, is one character too long for AIM, so I shortened it and added some somewhat meaningless numbers.

To keep thing homogenous I used that when I came here, but I had the numbers removed because they seemed too "AIM-y". :D

Even though I'd posted in this thread earlier, since then my user name has changed so I'll update things. "Clix Pix" reflects my love of photography and the fact that I like to...take pictures. :D

My name, probably obvious to some, is the title of a book/novela by Ludovico Ariosto. Here is a cool illustration by Paul e Gaëttan Brizzi, from the Second Canto. It was a favorite at the time.

Mine is simply derived from the car model Plymouth Breeze. I also live in Massachusetts and have a summer vacation home on Cape Cod, so the name if fitting.

The 'er at the end just sounded cool, plus, Plymouthbreeze was taken back when I created the AIM SN in 2000 (I was 10 at the time). I'll probably keep it the rest of my computering (is that a word?) life.

If I haven't already posted here before.

RaggedJimmi was a name MSN Groups suggested when names became finalised. I thought it was funny as I'm a lover of good clothes and that, and I'm financially secure. I float around the internet with Jimmy, Jimmi, James Whitehead, Jay, Titan (age old game making handle), Mike Baldwin (Half Life 2 online), Jimmilerock and finally; Satan Sam. ;)

The first three letters of my username are "lac" put them backwards and get "cal". My first name is "Calvin"

The last three letters of my username are "reo" put them backwards and get "oer". My last name is "Oersky

Im thinking of changing my username to something else though....
I don't like it anymore.

Raggedjimmi was a name that MSN generated for me so many years ago, when the clamed down on "have any name for MSN's web services" to "ya gotta stick with one, ya buggers". seeing my email address was raggedjimmi and I'm a lover of clothes and style I thought Ragged would have been a brilliant funny thing to do... for a second. but then I clicked Save.

But I think it'll be ok though ;)

Ever heard of Ghenghis/Djenghis Khan? Well that's me, Temujin :cool:

When I signed up, I tried some user names I had used in other places, and they were all taken, so I decided to see what would happen if I just tried my name with the i in front of it, and to my surprise, it was accepted.

The female count on IT oriented forums tend give that advantage to the more erotic gender ;) ;) (If Zap Brannigan said it, then so can I) :D

dmw = my initials.

007 = my favorite movie character; "the names Bond, James Bond". :)

eluon - greek for "he who destroys" or "he who is destroying"

Well Eluon, since you are in the practice of destroying, I have a little problem that I would like you to take care of for me. His name is Bill Gates. On behalf of her majesty the Queen, I bestow upon you a temporary license to kill. ;) :)

I used to break a LOT of skateboard decks. So... decksnap. And no, I am not fat! I just had a few bad habits on sticking the landings. Works nicely as my nick in the poker rooms as well.

Has it brought you too much unwanted notoriety? BTW, good to see that you didn't utterly disapper from the community forums. :)

The real origin of my name:

sc = starcraft, a computer game. This is why I'm not all that happy about my handle. I wouldn't create a handle based on a computer game in a million years anymore. I joined this site years and years ago, I couldn't care less about Starcraft, and any computer game, anymore.

em0 = emo = a nickname of mine.

The way I interpret it now:

sc = could be 'sexy, cute' or maybe 'super cool'. Anything along those lines ;).

em0 = emo = nickname for Emerson = my name :)

Well Skip=My nickname, how I got it I honestly couldn't tell you

Skop=I have no idea

24= Random numbers

I'm kind of mad at myself for not being "iShane" maybe I'll kill this one and make a new "iShane" one.

Probably.

"SC" could mean 'sexy, cute' or maybe 'super cool'; but you transcend that. So jealous of the connection you made here. But happy for you both.

Give my best to Lee....
