Wow long thread, so apologies if this has already been asked.

My iPhone is sold and money is in the bank to get the new one.

How do I go about paying off the rest of my contract with o2 and keeping my same number?

I know its going to be 9x£20 to finish my contract which is fine.

Obviously handset prices havent been anounced which is redicularse.

So pre orders tomorrow, and I dont know:

1) how to keep my number?
2) how to pay off the remainder of my contract?
3) how to order the new iphone?
4) Do I phone o2 to pay my contract, order my new phone, order a new micro-sim, activate my new phone and THEN phoe o2 back and say, can I have my old number back..... if at all possible?!#

Ive got the money to spend... I cant believe how frustrating they are making this for the customers.

There may be some errors there due to the poor quality of the leak.

Thanks :) the 24 months £35 a month contract suits me fine if these prices are correct :D

My friend at Vodafone. I only get a discount with Orange at work... which is extremely annoying. Would prefer one with O2... but ah well

If you don't mind me asking what company do you work with to get discount on orange?

And to the previous person who said orange are delayed until further notice, if so, why??

if the pre order launch in America is 12:00, wouldnt tha make it either 5 or 6AM over here in the UK ? as were usualy 5 - 6 hours ahead..

No, it would make it 12:00 here, it doesn't matter what day it is in America, also you have to remember that we are 5-6 hours ahead of New York, but we are even further ahead of West Coast time.

Guys
I dont know if this has been posted before
BUT
The iPhone Gift link gave me this -
https://iphone-reserve.apple.com/GB/en
So looks like you CAN reserve Apple items to pickup instore, BUT I HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN THIS OPTION WHEN ORDERING ANYTHING & HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS PAGE BEFORE!!!
*BOOKMARKED*
Looks like instore pick up for not just iPhones but EVERYTHING is available but Apple havnt revealed this before...
God if I knew this before I could have got so many items I wanted guaranteed to pick up before they go out of stock...

Not been given any info, at least anymore info I can give without risking getting fired (I work for orange) just been told that orange won't be doing pre-orders from tomorrow
to follow up on this I popped in an orange shop this morning who said pre-orders will be monday in store and you pay a £60 deposit

Scratch that. I just checked the small print on the Orange website and "Unlimited" means 750MB. So actually, Vodafone is leading for me with 1GB data and cheaper handset.

With:-
Vodafone as far as i know if you go over your 1GB allowance you will be charge per MB at a ridiculous amount, so would have to go with caution on that one.

Orange is indeed 750mb fair usage though i have friends who have recieved txts when going over this, none have been charged anything up to now, my friend last month was 950mb

O2 although O2 have said that contracts now start from 500mb cap, what has been previously said when speaking with an O2 sales team is that a further 500mb can be purchased as bolt-ons for £5 each and that they will send regular txts when coming up to this limit. The important part is They say that if you should go over your 500mb allowance, you wont be charged any extra, all that will happen is that your speed will be capped, no charge and no cut off just reduction in speed of service until your next month becomes available.

Now for me for peace of mind if i don't go too much over the 500mb then with O2 at least i won't get any nasty surprises with my bill and also can probably still acess web pages, though am guessing youtube n the likes will be too crippled.
Not sure how slow they will make it and not found on the website where it says they throttle you but does seem a bit of peace of mind

If the handset price is going to be £30 more than the current price on 3GS then the £40 price plan probably looks better than the £35 this time around based on the 18 month plan.

Numbers!

Hope all the above makes sense in regards to peoples best option providing they have cash up front.

I'm going to need a bigger spreadsheet!

I jest! Yeah that all makes sense to me, Its funny that the value of your phone becomes a lot more apparent if you buy on PAYG. But even if you're on contract (god forbid) you do break it / it gets stolen, you'll still be paying it off over the next 18 months / 24 months anyway.

Yeah and the £15 a month iPhone insurance is a joke. £270 over (presumably the most popular) 18m/£35 contract, well hot dog, thats what I paid for it in the first place. That kind of pricing assumes that 50% of all people are going to claim on their iPhone insurance. That either means:

a) They're clumsy.

b) They're malicious and will just break it to get a new one.

c) They flash their £500 gadget in bars and down dodgy streets while they're drunk.

d) They fall asleep on the toilet and maybe drop it into the bowl :p

Seems to be concurrent, quite a few people have said that, although why have the prices been leaked?
I THINK and HOPE that orange will do pre orders online tommorow

differnt states have differnt time zones,
Not really, their is many time zones that cut right across America, regardless of which state it falls in, a state can have two different time zones, though I think they tend to stick to one set one. Anyway that is a problem America has. A few weeks ago when the last episode of Lost was on we here in the UK were shown the episode the same time as the West Coast of America, however the East Coast had already seen it by the time the West Coast America started watching it. The great advantages of not being in a country with multiple time zones.
