I'm hoping to log onto the Apple Store website tomorrow morning, see that little "new" tag beside the iPhone in the stock line-up, and see £449 (or thereabouts) for an iPhone 4 on O2.

I severely doubt the Apple Store will update with contract iPhone prices since they've only ever sold Pay As You Go models on the site.

I hope your right.

theres rumours doing the rounds that O2 PAYGO will not be available from launch. I hope there not true.

My counter argument is if it was true Apple would have no phones to sell!

if o2 PAYG is not available to preorder/reserve i will be seher, seher pissed off!

I think the Orange ones are wrong as well, but im just basing it on that picture leak from earlier which looked as though it came from an official source.

If there is any changes, I will update it, (unless the changes happen during the night while ill be in bed catching up on sleep)

Appreciate the figures, it's helping me.

2 questions
~ what does it mean for Orange, Part Of Mobile Data Allowance? I use approx 650mb at the mo on O2.
~ what is vodaphone coverage like around the UK. Whenever I go on holiday, any where but in a city I can't get 3G with O2.

Cheers.

My contract with Vodafone expired ages ago, but I've been waiting for iPhone 4 to arrive before I upgraded (I've not got an iPhone at the moment).

What are my chances of getting a deal off Vodafone if I tell them I'm going to leave? With the prices all looking to be very similar I've no reason to continue my 10 year loyalty with them, will they really care? Is tomorrow the wrong day to be trying to get a deal? What sort of deals can you get, cheaper phones or better contract terms?

If I tell them I'll get the wife's PAYG converted to contract as well would that make any difference?

Cheers guys,

So is there any point staying up past midnight tonight to see if preorders will be on the apple store or anywhere else?

1. Orange have Wifi at Bt Openzones as part of their deal, however, they state that the 750mb which is your allowance is public wifi + 3G combined.

So if you use 750mb on the BT Openzone Wifi, then you wont have any left for mobile internet.

2. No idea for coverage im afraid. You'll have to find that one yourself.

Not sure if this is important...

On Apple UK site - under tech specs

For iPhone 4, at the bottom it says "iPhone may be configured to work only with the wireless services of a single wireless service provider"

For 3GS, at the bottom it says "See your carrier for details"

Does this hint that Apple will sell unlocked iPhones, but if you buy from the o2 store for example, it will be locked to o2??

More delays isn't a major surprise, happens all the time in other markets like the gaming one for example, all heightens the suspence, though i feel this is being done for a more sinister reason and i'm going with Price Fixing
I say this as if one network released their prices a week before release date then the others would follow suit undercutting each other. This would be the normal price wars we sometimes tend to see.

But the iPhone is very different as with airline tickets (well sort of) the companies know the demand and the cost to purchase each unit is probably the same for each network. So i think they will just get their heads together and rather than compete fairly to give the consumer the best price, ALL of them will be around the same price point that they have probably ALL agreed to to maximise profits for all.
What choice do you have if ALL networks over charge for the same product. If Apple are in on this who knows but here in the UK we do get hammered with prices and the networks know the fanbase and the need/wants for us all to get the latest shiney toy.

They got us by the balls, just depends how tightly they wish to squeeze this time!?

No s**t.

If the US isn't getting white models until late summer, it's safe to say that other countries won't be getting them either. US stock comes first (like ipad)

The leaked Vodafone prices page has white phones on there. If they didn't have them, wouldn't it say "Coming Soon" or something? Unless it really was just a test page.

If there is no PAYG to pre-order then exactly what are Apple allowing people to pre-order as they have never sold contract phones only PAYG. I think there will be at least one PAYG network to pre-order with tomorrow

This is all getting a bit strange. I'll try to do a summary.

O2
We have the official contract pricing, but no idea of the cost of the handsets on either Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go. No idea if O2 will be offering a pre-order tomorrow or not.

Orange
We have leaked contract pricing including handset prices. We also have information on the expected PAYG cost, but nothing confirmed. It now also seems that Orange won't be offering a preorder tomorrow although nothing was officially announced to customers either way.

Vodafone
Again, leaked contract pricing only including handset prices, but nothing on PAYG. No announcement from Vodafone regarding the availability of preorders tomorrow.

Apple
No pricing at all from Apple - but their website DOES state that the preorder begins tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see exactly what is available for preorder: http://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/notify-me/
