it's a girl and i don't reckon she's thinking like you to be honest 🙂

me on the other hand, i may deserve your 'crafty bastard' label. my 18 month contract expired with o2 about 3 months ago - my last upgrade was the original htc touch diamond. so at the time i called o2:

me: so i've been giving u some lovin for many years baby; how bout you tell me what you'll offer me when ip4 comes-out

o2: can't say exactly but won't be different to what new cutomers get.

me: so my luuurrrrve all these years won't count for sh*t!!!

o2: erm, yeah [i'm paraphrasing of course - they let me down lightly]

me: so you 'shaft long-term existing customers like they new ones' iP4 deals aren't likely to be better than your current 3gs offers?

o2: can't say [i.e. yep - bang-on!]

me: ok, put me on 30d rolling simplicity for smartphones (which includes unlimited data).

then about a few days ago, after reading about o2 capping data, i called them and switched to iphone simplicity in preparation for iP4. they assured me because i am an existing simplicity customer, i will ALWAYS have unlimited data - i got them to note down their own words on the 'case-notes' for good measure.

so now it's just about getting a payg handset...and me mate sorting his staff 30% discount on the tariff....sweeeeeet 🙂 so am i a crafty bastard or perhaps a cunning vagabond?

I couldn't honestly say. What I do know is that conversation you had with O2 sounds a like my relationship with my current girlfriend...
 
If I remember correctly the o2 F&F discount works like this;

Every o2 employee gets 50% line rental discount for themselves plus up to 10 F&F can also get 30% discount through the said employee.

I have had mine for nearly 6 years now, being an ex employee, have had it on all versions of the iphone and so has the wife. Various relatives and friends all get the 30% as well. 🙂🙂

Not sure if it has changed but as long as none of us change our tariffs we keep it for life.

Thats why its hard for me to leave o2, even though I want to switch to Voda. 🙂🙂

anyway, me going bed...otherwise the 1.5 month old baby who has just had his night-feed and then promptly fallen asleep on my chest will wake-up and get seriously ratty.

ps - that's the prob with these 10v hackintoshes - they are too bloody convenient due to their size and you end up using them almost anywhere!
 
Well here we are 20 to 1 and still no update. If nothing has happened by 1 I'm of to bed. I will probably get up at 7 to check and then prepare for any potential ordering at 8am. Any similar things happening here. I'm also checking on the Japanese store as they are 9 hours ahead of us.

God would something please happen.

Still here and will be for a while yet. Not staying up for the preorders - just not ready to sleep. 🙂

Drinking herbal tea and setting up my mum's old 8GB iPhone 3G to use for the next couple of weeks. Just sold my 3GS on eBay and am posting it out in the morning.

that's good to know - so even if he leaves o2 it will continue for me?

for some reason he mentioned he had a minimum of 10 f+f's but then said he may have as many as 14; anyway, he just told me to get iP4 and then if my current sim cut-down/new micro-sim supplied by o2 work fine to call him 🙂
