The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

Looks like I better head to work and check back when I get in!

Not too many more pages on this thread please.... I've got to get at least some work done today!
 
Hi everyone,

Please forgive me if this has been asked before in this huge thread, but this is the first time I have renewed a contract with and iPhone and 02. Am I able to pre order from the Apple store or Apple site if I am renewing a monthly contract, or do I have to go through 02? If I can, how does it work with getting the same number and micro sim?

Nice... haha, that's just bumped up my ipad cost 100 quid tho... I'll probs go with the 16 GB then since I'll have the 32 GB iphone... so it should balance out nicely... prob keep most of my music on the iphone to keep free space on the ipad...

Or you could get a MIFI and run internet on them both off the same sim.

apple store will probably only have pay as you go handsets you will have to upgrade via O2 or get the payg handset from apple and ask O2 for a microsim for your contract number
 
People over at AVR have been ringing.. Apple store cant do anything till online site is back up, voda says their system goes live at 9, and o2 said they won't be doing pre orders today..

Have any of you guys actually come across any you tube videos of this sim cutter being used? Would be nice to see it in action. I want to know how they get the curved side of the sim trimmed down

I think it's just like a paper punch. Except instead of 2 holes, one hole the shape of a micro sim and he base will position the normal sim correctly for it to stamp out. Can't be any worse than the meat cleaver method 🙂

What this thread needs more of is people checking the websites of every single company even tangentially related to the release of the iPhone 4 in the UK, every two minutes, and posting back here, also every two minutes, as to the status of said website.
