Has anyone noticed or now much about buying an iphone as a gift in the u.s.
The american apple store says $599 to buy 16gb iphone as a gift for someone if you dont have at&t contract. That works out about 407pounds might do that seein as ill be there in two weeks.

I dont get it, why is the 3GS 8GB £419 but the 18GB iPhone 4 £499.
There is only an £80 difference, surely the 3GS should be dropped to £299-350 ish, its old tech 😕

These rip off prices mean that the chances of getting good price on any tariff under £60 is remote on O2, not promising
Guys if you go to the reserve in store linky you can reserve a pay monthly phone for pickup, just did it myself.

Hmm using the reservation it also gives a Pay as you go option for iPhone 4 as well as sim free and contract.
But it doesn't give prices!

Already done that, see above.
Tempted by the store pick up option, but we don't even know all the other prices yet. Hmm...are you obligated to pick up if you reserve?

Glad i get handset discounts on payg now. £600 is pretty pricey, but it'll hold its value for resale next year i guess..
Massive mess up by apple on prices, especially still trying to sell 3gs for £419. If you want proof they're messing around UK customers look at the prices of the mac mini - $699 US and £649, $699 is £473 at todays exchange rate.... holding out hopes for cheaper iPhone 4's on o2 now, but get the feeling there won't be many pre orders else where, phones4u and carphone warehouse may be worth a shot...
Add in the lack of white and the fact you can't actually order one because the stores crashed and apple look a bit stupid right now.
