So that delays the delivery of the iPhone to june 25-28. And as i said before i cancelled the bumper and the delivery date for the iPhone is still june 25-28 and i cant understand why it didnt update to june 24. My order was made at 9:30 (8:30 gmt)!!!

So if the contract I use is not in my name (it's in my mothers) then can I still get a micro sim from an o2 store and then do the number transfer later?

Well i dont know what to say!!! Apple wasnt professional in the whole pre order thing! You are really lucky to get both delivered on the 24th coz i can assure you that all the people i know (and they are many) who ordered the black bumper have a delivery of june 25-28 on their order status page and thats including me although the bumper is cancelled!
 
i really dont understand the panic of some people yet.....it doesnt even come out till thursday.......and there have been no announcements suggesting a delay.........so i think we should just calm down and instead of checking every 5 mins, just assume it's gonna happen
 
after weighing up all the options, i think i will switch from o2 to vodafone.

whats the deal with cancelling my contract with o2? how long does it take for them to disconnect you and how much notice do you need to give them?

ive had my 3g for over 18 months so i dont have any issues with buying out the rest of the contract etc.

I too am moving from o2.

It takes 1 month, so get your notice in now. You could request your PAC code immediately if you plan to transfer your number, but i'd personally just get a new number on thursday..

I'm doing the same. I phoned and got my PAC code last week and they told me that as soon as my PAC code is registered with Vodafone my contract with them will cancel and i'll just get a bill for what i've used pro rata. PAC code lasts for 30 days and then expires.
 
Okay guys, now with the iPhone 4 White being very likely in limited models, will I be able to line up in the reservation line and swap my reservation to white you think or will I have to line in unreserved?

still not 100% that i will make the jump to vodafone as o2 still only charge me £5 for insurance a month and my old man pays for it so it could be less hassle just to upgrade it with them.

but if i do request the pac would i still be able to upgrade with o2 on the day or does asking for the pac negate this?

I reckon you will be able to choose. IMO your much likely to get a white iPhone 4 if your on the reserve list in the first place.

I remember last year there were rumours of a shortage of white iPhone models. Once the apple store opened i ask my mate who works there "are there any white iPhones" to which he replied "of course, we have loads"

I'm one of the people who ordered a bumper with it and have "Delivery By 25 - 28th", but I think it's just Apple covering themselves because of unknowns for them handling this volume of orders, and I won't be surprised if I get it on Thursday.

I am guessing that because orders are all getting held by couriers for Thursday delivery, that this potential delay of adding a bumper will make no difference, and it will just arrive at the courier a little later on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Just me speculating though, feel free to shoot down any of the above :)
 
Note that if you're moving to Vodafone you need your PAC when you move, it can't be done afterward. T-Mobile said they could do it any time, no idea on Orange.

Let's hope we get our iPhone 4's delivered on the 24th!!! I'll be popping in to an o2 store tomorrow with my confirmation email and hopefully walking out with a micro sim!
To those who reserved in store: will you be in queuing up or taking your chances after work etc?

I've got the day off work :D so undecided on whether to get there early or not....? Regent Street store is gonna be a cattle market not looking forward to it.

I can but assume the call backs are gonna be when they have an idea of stock and probably will ask if you wanna reserve a handset I dunno till I get my call.... but sayin that I am waitin to see what 3 are gonna offer cause they now rhave an official carrier file via iTunes and offering visual voicemail

No - it will just expire if you don't use it or if you upgrade with O2
