The distance thing is probably as the drivers usually deliver to the point furthest away from the hub.......which means that the nearest to the hub gets loaded on first....

Will be interesting if the proximity to the hubs starts getting closer as the day goes on.......

It is all about sorting and then the couriers having to do the least amount of miles

so the big major question:

What is the shutter sound like for the camera? can it be turned off if the phone is in silent?

Shipment confirmed, via UPS to London
Scheduled arrival "on or before the 24th"

I am also not able to track via UPS site, but that may be because it hasn't hit their systems yet....

*pant, pant, pant*

Are you sure? (That the Tesco tariffs are fake)

I phoned Tesco Mobile to place an order. The guy said that they have no information on the iPhone 4 yet.

It's possible that they are leaked prices I suppose. Perhaps they are that good and Apple have forced them not to announce for a few days yet so as not to jeopardise the enormous sales that Apple will be making directly to the public.

My o2 order status is 'in progress' but they deliver with DHL, so not to sure i'll be getting mine today? maybe..

Still i'm having fun waiting with the rest of the forum on here :D

i've now got a UPS tracking number (1Z number).
status says "shipment despatched".

however apple now says delivery by 28th !

I rang Orange Pre-ordered a 32GB Black the guy also said they have White in Stock? available for Pre-order? anyway, it kinda sucks no confirmation email comes through however, I will get a text message when it's getting delivered

i got told that there were no white ones only black, and yeah I'm just constantly looking at my phone waiting for my :apple: iPhone dispatch text :p

I'm not sure. I do know that TNT will not automatically redeliver Apple packages the next day without contacting the although they'll automatically redeliver all other packages. Apparently they're under strict instructions not to automatically redeliver Apple packages. UPS may be the same so if you've missed a delivery I'd advise you call UPS up straight away to arrange redelivery (or see if you can pick it up from their depot).

in September last year I ordered some stuff from amazon, and the delivery guy called me quite a few times during the day which I missed (I'm a uni student so I was sleeping all day and my phone was on vibrate :p )... when I finnaly answered he asked me if he could come back and deliver the stuff same day, haha, I was shocked and VERY happy (I love good mail :p ) he told me when he delivered it it was cuz he didn't want to keep the TV in his truck over night so it didn't get stolen, and that was only 550 pounds... so maybe some drivers will do the same for 500-600 pound phones?

I had the email about delayed shipping times yesterday (im in shropshire, in a big town so goodness knows why it takes longer to deliver here....).

My shipping estimate is now the 25th on the apple site, but im hoping for delivery tomorrow still.

Hey, another Shropshire person! Where are you? I'm in Whitchurch. Why are Apple picking on us and making us wait?

Having said that I'm interested in the Tesco tariffs, I've got another question:

Right now I am using a Pay as you Go monthly Sim from Orange (15£ + 5£ Data). I'm using it in my iPhone 2G and Orange knows that, they don't care since it is a 2G.
Since I do not have a micro sim yet (and have not decided which one to get), I'm planning to cut down my Orange Sim and use it in my iPhone 4 tomorrow.
Will I have to expect any trouble from Orange? Can they (and are they willing to) track if you use your Sim in an iPhone without actually having an iPhone contract?

Was that emailed to you or did it appear on the UK apple store?

** edit ** scrap that just noticed the 1Z on the US apple store for my order but still no tracking

Friend of mine who works in a Vodafone store states they have just had their delivery.

10 x 16GB & 2 x 32GB. Black Only.

I rang the Apple Store in Glasgow and a rather rude guy answered my questions:

1) They have NO white iPhone 4s at launch
2) People have started queuing up
3) I was told right away that if I didn't pre-order one (does he mean reserve?) then I am unlikely to get one tomorrow by queuing up.
4) Even with a Personal Shopping appointment, if you didn't pre-order one, I am unlikely to be able to buy one.

Questions:
- I thought the phones are sold on a first-come-first-served basis? Surely apart from reserved phones, the Apple Store must have left some phones aside?

- I thought Apple only kept reservations for the new iPhone until the end of launch day? Or is this only in the US?

I get the feeling if you havent got your delivery by 3pm you wont get it today.

Our warehouse gets deliveries all day long but this morning we've had a whole days worth in 2 hours.

All the drivers want to finish early today to watch the football!

I hope thats true im about 12-18 miles away from the tnt depot. That means i would be one of the first.

shipped UPS at 03.16 Today, Delivery on 25th?

Thanks, I sometimes get UPS stuff from Deeside, sometimes from Stoke so I'm not sure on this one. Really don't understand why it can't be delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed, but I'm not optimistic as I can't see Apple having sent me that email for no reason. Strangely, everyone else who got the same email seemed to be in Scotland or Northern Ireland, and there always was a note in the ordering process saying that orders from these places might not be delivered on 24th. It definitely didn't mention Whitchurch though!

I received a shipped notice from Apple at 3.16AM today also. Plus, I was one of the people that received the dreaded, your iphone may be delayed, because I couriers are panicking! I live in Shrewsbury, which is serviced by the Stoke hub. Never had any Apple pre-order come late!

However, if I click on the Tracking Status, the following appears!

Shipped to SHREWSBURY, GB 23 Jun 2010
Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 25 Jun 2010 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status Shipment dispatched 23 Jun 2010

Soooo, am I to believe that now the iphone is coming Friday, which I'd imagine, having received the email. Or, like some others, who are getting their phones early, shipped by UPS. Do I take it that I may actually get it today. Unfortunately, I won't be in on Friday!

FYI, I ordered my iPhone on launch day at 11.36am. After Apple's site started to work again.

Any information from other UPS, delayed email, now shipped emails recipients would be appreciated.

Anyone from TNT got anything yet? A UPS van just drove past my building and me thinks someone just got their iPhone 4 delivered to them. Why oh why did Apple stick me with TNT
