It might be that the Apple packages are not coming from your local delivery depot rather than straight from the Apple hub where they were all stored, be it London or Birmingham.

This would explain why the tracking information is not working as because there are no stops there is nothing to update.

Also would explain why people in the Midlands area are getting them and people like me (South Wales) are still waiting?

I'm in staffordshire (not far from stafford) with a UPS tracking number - usually UPS deliveries come around 9am but nothing so far.

Anyone expecting UPS to turn up normal time should add a few hours, they've got lots of extra drops today ;)

Glad I booked today off work aswell as tomorrow.

EDIT: Got my dispatch email at 3:13am

The Tesco priced look good. Now I wonder where I would get a sim only pay as you go from Tesco since I ordered an unlocked iPhone. Any ideas?
I reckon if I pop into my local Tesco tomorrow they won't have pay as you go micro sims, right?

My shopping list.

2 pints of milk.
1 loaf of break.
Oh and a iPhone please.

Apparently, Tesco have released there prices:

The 12 month contract looks tempting.

The PAYG looks tempting too.

Tesco still uses O2? If so then I'm amazed at the Tesco PAYG deal. O2 used to offer 12 month data bundled with their iPhone 3GS PAYG handsets but they dropped that with their iPhone 4 pricing but Tesco seem to be maintaining it (even if it is now a 1GB cap).

Tesco seems to be the best PAYG offer out there for iPhone 4 as far as data goes but I've got a reservation tomorrow and I'm not sure that I'm willing to wait for Tesco availability so I'm probably going to go with Orange even though it has a quarter of the data cap. I don't think I'll use my 250MB allowance anyhow.

The fact that I can get a SIM-free handset from Apple doesn't help me here does it? I assume that PAYG tariffs with bundled data are conditional on having bought the handset through the network so I couldn't go into Tesco next month and say that I just want the iPhone PAYG tariff with 12 month bundled data but I already have a handset, or could I?

Maybe if next years model is essentially a "GS" level of upgrade then at that point I'll upgrade just to get another 12 month free data offer. If it's a minor upgrade I probably won't care so much about getting it on day 1 and the resale value of the original iPhone 4 should be quite high. Sounds like an OK plan to me.

You beat me to it. I was wondering the very same thing.

but then there have been no deliveries in Birmingham or London (as far as we are aware), which is strange.

do they definitely have a hub in London?

I got my call at 10am off a foreign lady and she was offering an o2 upgrade and not a new connection (I thought about going with Voda, but decided against it).CPW upgrades have also confirmed a next day delivery with DHL when I called back.

02086175910 was the number that called me for the upgrade. Try it and see??

Also, my cousin who also bought his iPhone 3G from CPW was told that he couldn't upgrade now but he can register for the next delivery. The only difference was that he spent £35 a month and I spent £45.

Haha, literally seconds after I posted my reply earlier I got a call from CPW - same 0208 number. It sounded like a south african/zim guy. Called CPW Upgrades to check and although they can't see what's exactly gone through, an upgrade order has been placed and they can see that CPW just contacted me.

Interesting about your friend. I was on the £45 per month deal before but I've just downgraded both my and my fiancée's contracts to £40 per month since they seemed like better deals.

Roll on tomorrow! :D

I had the email about delayed shipping times yesterday (im in shropshire, in a big town so goodness knows why it takes longer to deliver here....).

My shipping estimate is now the 25th on the apple site, but im hoping for delivery tomorrow still.

I hope they are fake, as if there not i'll be returnign my Apple SIM free and going Tesco Pay&Go.

If they are real why would Tesco give 1GB Data on Pay & Go and o2 is 500mb. Same network no?
Technically, O2 is 0MB. There is no non-WiFi data bundled with the new iPhone 4 O2 PAYG, you need to do a minimum £10 topup the previous month and then yes, it is only 500MB you get for the current month. That's why I was amazed at the Tesco tariffs and not surprised if they are fake.

If I go into a UK Apple Store (Aberdeen in my case) on Thursday, will I be able to see demo models on display? I'm waiting to see both a white and black iPhone 4 in person and make my decision based on that. I imagine there wont be any white models on display if white really isn't happening yet.

Yep sorry I knew it was a £10 top up. If they really are bundling 12 month of 1GB data. The Apple one will be going back.

Got mine at 3.07am not that it means anything!

yh i dont think it means anything, because i dont think apple would ship each phone 1 at a time, they would have been done in batches or maybe all in 1 go but i doubt that way, i think email times are just when the apple system got to ur order to send u the email.

mine arrived today and was shipped 2day aswell and the money still hasnt come out, guess they will take it out tomorrow or friday

Another interesting thought, is the consignment/tracking number on the packaging the same as the one from apple?

Sorry, perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned Birmingham or London, I was just going off where big airports were that Apple would have delivered too.

The two or three that have been delivered in the UK, did the users ever post where they were based? Was one Sussex?

Good thing I am getting mine delivered to work so won't have any hassle making sure there is someone at home waiting.

If I get mine delivered today I will post on here right away.

This not being able to use the tracking number is really frustrating...

I don't mind if it comes today or tomorrow, I just need to be able to plan my day. Sigh.

I rang Orange Pre-ordered a 32GB Black the guy also said they have White in Stock? available for Pre-order? anyway, it kinda sucks no confirmation email comes through however, I will get a text message when it's getting delivered
