Managed to speak to someone at Carphone Warehouse. My order and my fiancée's order have both been cancelled. Looks like the guy who placed the pre-order messed it up. Supposedly the pre-order team will be calling me within the next 40 minutes to take my order again. As if that's going to happen.

I signed up for a 30 day simplicity (with Unlimited data), and received an email informing me they would send out my sim. So I was already prepared for the sim-swap hassle. Anyway, today I received two pay & go sims, either by mistake or coincidence, so I rang them, and when I explained the situation, and mentioned that I was waiting for my iPhone (4), but that I'd picked up a micro-sim, she simply ran the code and activated it over the phone, saying it should be activated in 24 hrs. So apparently all I have to do is put in in my phone when it arrives.
I wouldn't have thought you'd have to get there too early... most people will be heading to O2 shops / CPW.
Well just spoke to CPW, got my order number and my tariff has changed on o2 🙂

I tried that and they're not having it anymore - denied they do it over the phone - that was 8.52.
It's likely. Don't think they'll stock them elsewhere though. I wanted one for my pre-order delivery from Apple Store online, but saw the delay.
I got a cheap silicon case for £2.99 & 10 x screen protectors for £5 on amazon to keep me going until i get one. I want blue 🙂

I ordered on the 15th with a black bumper and the estimate has been ship on 24th arrive 25-28th but apple has sent me the shipped email and it tracks on UPS so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
I can't wait to have an iphone again, I've been using the phone below for a week now and it's amazing how much I've gone to use an app or the net when I'm out and about but it's not available for me.

From Appleinsider .....Apple on Wednesday released an official statement on availability of the white iPhone 4, noting that production of the device proved difficult, pushing its release back to late July.
"White models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July," the company said in a statement. "The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected."
The announcement kills any hope customers might have had of obtaining the white handset on launch day. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Best Buy had ordered at least 10 white iPhone 4 models for its stores, stirring up suggestions that Apple might have limited availability for Thursday's launch.
Apple never allowed customers to prepurchase the white iPhone 4, stating on its website that the model is currently unavailable for preorder or in-store pickup. In addition, AT&T's site listed the white model as "coming soon."

As someone has already said, most people will be heading to Apple in Eldon Square, and various phone shops in and around Newcastle.
Here is a fact for you, the Tesco at Kingston Park is/was the largest Supermarket in the UK.
Ijust spoke to them literally 10 minutes ago, phoned on 0870 087 0870 and selected option 2. 🙂

anyway i just rang and was told they've got 24 iPhone 4s in stock and you cant reserve, they've had about a dozen calls today.

That's the exact same phone I've been using ever since I sold my 3G too, lol. Shame the only app on that is sudoku! Doesn't quite cut it compared to the offerings of the app store does it?
