Well both my local stores have got them however I will try my luck with the o2 store first. I'm planning to get there for 6.30. Hopefully I'll be in time. If not no big deal but my 3g is starting to get very worse for wear!! lol

cpw

my local cpw, which i called yesterday, said they had lots of stock, for all networks, then after reading this thread, called again, and they said they had no stock for Orange, which i am on.

so going to orange store, and hoping to be first in line. then going to glasto, so dont want to get one delivered tomorrow by calling tesco.

went to phoesn4u also, they said, give us £10 to reserve one, and we will have stock, around 12pm. not so sure about that, but will go there if Orange doesnt have what i need

Orange where taking pre orders on the phone today.

Right, so everything CPW have told me about the Orpington store and the Bromley store is apparently not true according to the stock list email from CPW. I was told the High Street store in Bromley and the Nugent Park store in Orpington would have stock (by people who actually work there) but the email doesn't list those stores. Pretty annoying as the Orpington store is so much more convenient for me. Not sure what to do?

I went into the Vodafone store on Sunday and put my name down on a preorder list but I was never called about stock levels or anything. Do I risk going to CPW mentioned above or go somewhere that was on the email?

No iPhones in stock in any CPW shops in Glasgow.

The third largest city in the UK and not one shop gets any stock. Even Aberdeen has some ffs.

I knew Oxford Street had several, but 7 Carphone Warehouses?! Do people buy that many phones?

Ok I'm packing everything up ready to queue.
What do I need to sign up for a contract.
I've got my driving licence, passport. Can't find an actual bank statement, but do have a bank letter with my name/address.
Anything else?/Link to website that tells me.

My TNT tracking page has the status as "please call"

Called the helpdesk but the systems are down

Its not looking good!

Apple Store in Glasgow had a queue of 2 at 7 pm.

At 9 pm (on my way back from Nandos), there was about 6 people in the queue along with a 'security' guard. Lots of crowd barriers stacked up though.

CPW will have no iphone for sale in Glasgow tomoz, from their email. Correction - as Sneeks says, Braehead is on the list (just not listed as being in Glasgow! cos, technically, it aint)

Oh, and the 2 o2 stores i walked past had nobody queuing up outside them.:)

However, i now want a Tesco contract for 12 months. Maybe folks should go find a 24 hr Tesco and queue up inside in the warm!

Don't worry i posted the same a little while ago and then after a couple of hours it has now updated to 'in transit' from nuneaton ...........

It will change .....

So I've spent a good hour today weighing up insurance policies. I'm buying the phone from Apple but getting an O2 Simplicity deal. I'm wondering if O2 will honour this and allow me to purchase insurance from them. The only other decent alternative is from an online company which want £49.99 a year and £100 excess. Really stumped as to what to do as of right now.

Issues are starting to come in. Scratches on the back and yellow blotches on the screen...Palm Pre-esque.

Fingers cross my two units are perfect.

so where dyou reckon would be best to get a micro sim from for payg?

Orange as they are the only ones doing PAYG currently but call them don't go to a store, those guys will tell you only Pay Monthly microsims are available.

Ooh, hadn't thought of this. Am now wondering what I need to upgrade my contract with O2?

I'll take passport, both parts of photocard driving license, and a recent bank statement. Oh and don't forget to take a credit card to actually pay for it.

It also seems to depend where you are getting the info from. On the TNT UK site I get the Please Call message, however from the TNT Worldwide site I'm getting in transit from Nuneaton.

Do your bank do insurance? Only I am with Lloyds TSB and am considering their £7.95/month bank account. It gives me phone insurance, AA recovery and European travel insurance. Sounds like a good deal to me.
