Is tesco's as good as it looks?!

I thought my local tesco (slough) was the uk's biggest?

Anywho i just rang them and they said they'll have them in the morning. Looks like im headed there.

Is the tesco deal as good as it looks or am i missing something?

Atm i was going for apple phone + o2 simplicity (late order not arriving till 14th july)

Looks like tesco's 12 month blows this out of the water saving something like £110?

Unless i can think of a reason not to, im gonna cancel my apple order and head down to tesco at 8am!
 
Thanks PhantomZone and Brightlights for reposting the link. I think my browser's adblocker was stopping it working but I took a text copy of the address and managed to extract the usable portion so now I see it and that 1GB per month of bundled data on PAYG really is genuine. Wow!

So now I have a dilemma, do I go ahead with my Applestore reservation on Orange PAYG or do I wait for a Tesco one? We're getting pretty consistent reports that Tesco won't be doing PAYG tomorrow aren't we? Do we know when they are likely to start selling the PAYG?

What is the Apple return policy? I hate doing things like this but maybe one possibility is to return the Apple unit and get a Tesco one if it's only a matter of a week or 14 days.

As memory serves, Slough is one of the biggest in the UK, yes. When it first opened, they didn't have enough staff and pulled a few from the store where I was working at the time!

What kind of order do you have with Apple? Is it worth throwing all your eggs in one basket?

I called Orange and they're overnighting me a PAYG microsim which will tide me over until O2 sort themselves out...or i might just stay with Orange period. They've been nice to me.

Well i'm not getting my iphone from apple until 15th july anyway. Im pretty sure if i cancel my order today and then cant get it from tesco i will be able to re order tomorrow morning from apple and it wont make a difference. Either way looks like tesco is the best deal might be worth waiting for them to get it back in stock even if i couldnt get one.

How big is your store and did they tell you how the 24 were split between the 16GB and 32GB models.

I'm really split between ordering it from them tomorrow before noon and having it delivered on Friday and trying my luck at my store as soon as they open tomorrow.
 
Nuneaton!

My simfree was picked up by TNT at Nuneaton at 12.23 lunchtime today and is in transit to London but has to go to the hub in Tamworth or somewhere close by before coming down South. Just worried that the tracking site hasn't been updated since then. Should I be worried?

Do both. I'm going to head down to mine at about 8am, and if I fail to get one then I'll try my luck over the phone.

I got the text from CPWH saying that they'd sent me an email about which stores had what stocks however I haven't got it!! Has anyone else? If so care to share??!:D

Yeah I'll report back. I just called CPW again. It looks like the guy I spoke to earlier was just trying to give me some false hope because apparently CPW UK have no way of contacting the pre-order team that's based in South Africa other than leaving notes on the system.

The South Africa pre-order team are still open until 10pm tonight so if I haven't heard anything by then then it's game over.

He also said that the CPW website will be updating just after 10pm indicating which stores will have stock tomorrow.

If I can't get one for myself and my fiancée tomorrow as I should do with my order then all hell is going to break loose.
 
im going now to my local o2 store.
my phones coming by dhl tomorrow direct from o2 due to the phone cal i got a couple of days ago but i have to q for my sons as he isnt a platinum customer.


word of warning about the change of insurance though its pretty hefty if you lose it from now on on 02's insurance


for what its worth i have been told that the o2 shop nearest me that had a grand total of 15 last year have " over 50 " handsets.

The one next to me is a massive extra, they are only getting 4, on sale at 9am. Good luck :(

he didn't say, it's quite big though, turns out it was in the guinness book of records for being the biggest supermarket in the UK (i checked lol)
