Looks like T-Mobile UK have played catch up at last! Just got a twitter update from their account that the page has gone live.

You can get a free 16GB on a £60/Month contract over two years! No option for 18-Month and they've gone the same way as all the other companies on data usage. Disappointing. However, that can give you unlimited minutes and texts for that.

I might try keep onto my unlimited Flext 180 contract, although I'd miss out on the opportunity to gain a new iPhone 4 to sell on as I've got a 16GB SIM-Free currently. Temptation to change as I do get half-price line-rental for life makes the £60 deal (to £30) very attractive next April.

Hey iv just purchased my iPhone on 3. What can I say. Brand new handset and the reception issues are plaguing me. The speed and data is good but I am having depose calls. Very frustrating.

Perhaps you could put it in a little iPhone hockey mask?

Not had any reception problems on Three at all. I use the phone naked.
(not me, the phone!)
Astonished (and delighted) to find I could stream Radio 4 inside an elevator.

I could never do that on my iPhone3G on O2.

Update your phone to 4.0.1 and get a bumper. All will be sorted :D.

speaking of bumpers I got my free one today (not a refund I ordered off the app), hope this gives others an idea of when they should get theirs...

I also received my Apple bumper today, I'm guessing people who ordered bumpers will be the first to get the free cases seeing as they aren't coming from a third party. :)

Anyone have the new Exspect flip case for the iPhone 4? I'm thinking of buying it but not sure whether to. If someone has it any chance you could upload some pics of your iPhone inside it please?

Thanks.

Hi, I have this case also. I bought it from play.com as you get quidco from them. It's pretty good, I use it for work but I have a better one from O2 (they sell it on their website) that looks very similar but has foam inserted into the front of it to protect your screen, though it is £16!!

For those looking for iPhone insurance, call up your Home Insurance company, just got off the phone with mine and got my Macbook, 2x iPhones, iPad insured for just £1.20 extra a month, beats paying £15/m with O2 for just 1 iPhone. :D

Have you thought about trying your bank? My account gives me free cover on mobiles up to the value of £1000. So the iPhone 4 coming in at £700 is well under that. Excess is only £25 as well. :D

Claimed an iPhone 3G after dropping it in Leeds train station. It took 2 weeks but i got the full cost of the phone. Mint

Any chance you could tell me which insurance company and fingers crossed it's Aviva!!!

Ordered my 16gb iPhone 4 today from one of the 3 stores in Middlesbrough ( Hill St Centre) I say ordered as I had no photo I.D. on me so have to pick it up tomorrow. Went in at 9.10 this morning and was shocked to find myself the only person in the place. Lady who served me said they had been open from 8am but very quiet.
As far as I'm concerned anything had to be better than being on O2. The 3G reception was woeful at best and non existent at work but the main excuse for me leaving was the introduction of the web download caps and more importantly the dropping of the mms and text tariffs whilst abroad ( 4 from your allowance).
A few years back I had a Nokia N70 on 3 for 18 months and I had no reception issues or customer service problems. I've been with all the networks over the years except T-Mobile and 3 certainly where not the worst.

The only problem with home insurance covering your iphone is that if you make a claim then it affects your future premiums for your whole home insurance.

And if you've insured 2 iPhones, an iPad and a MacBook, then chances of you making a claim at some point are reasonable.

I got a current account plus with barclays (you can do the same with NatWest or any of the other major banks). The account costs £5 a month, and it includes full insurance for your phone, as well as an extended warranty on ANY new appliance (TV, fridge, washing machine etc etc) of 2 years on top of the manufacturers warranty.

Lads, how many phones can I buy with one reservation? I've received confirmation letter from Apple Store, wanna know - can I collect only one iPhone (as it's written in confirmation letter) or can I also pickup second one? I've heard different versions, can anybody clear this one to me? Thanx.

Plz Plz Plz

Is there any king hearted person who could offer me the reservation for a 16gb iphone 4 at any Apple store (milton keynes, brent cross, white city, regent store). I will love you for life. I so can not live without my iphone:eek:. My iphone gave up on me yesterday and just realised I am nothing without an iphone. plz email me on aey.keay@gmail.com.

Okay so I am posting this in the UK thread for 2 reasons -

1) I live in the Uk
2) This post may contain some criticism of the iPhone 4 so I want to avoid the automated "fanboi" response of "apple can do no wrong" which seems to be pretty standard on other threads.

Okay, so I got my iPhone 4 on contract to Orange with a Gear4 case which covers the antenna and I LOVE the phone. The problem is that whilst the case solves the issue with bridging the gap between the antennas, when I hold the phone I still lose signal with the case on. Obviously (as apple pointed out at press conference), all phones do this to a greater or lesser extent but the problem seems to be that Apple have the antenna all around the phone which makes this issue difficult to avoid (ie if the antenna was at the top of the phone, this would only really happen if you gripped the top of the phone)

This problem only really happens in low signal areas (my house being one!) but it means when I hold the phone (with the case) I lose signal unlike all the other phones I have owned, including a 3GS. Has anybody experienced these problems in the UK when they have been using a case?

Finally, can anybody tell me what the Orange policy of returning a phone which was bought through a retail shop? -

cheers

Tim

Rang Tesco Mobile this morning at 8AM, they had none. Thought I'd give my local Tesco extra a go (even though they get about one a week), and it turns out they had ten delivered this morning, with one shiny new one left for me! :D

The woman said if they had 40 delivered they could sell them in 2 hours.

I just got off the phone with two of my local Tesco's. They were expecting delivery today (end of July) but said they didn't come through. Told me to try again on Monday.

Unless of course someone can tell me Tesco get phone deliveries on Sunday aswel?

Does anyone know if you can buy a phone from the Apple store in Regent Street with cash, or is it only credit/debit card? I know there isn't any stock, but when there is - would you be able to? Anybody got theirs with cash?

What about a gift voucher?

Got my free bumper yesterday, nice quick delivery. Don't like how tight the vibrate switch opening is though. But it is a nice case. Incidentally, I had a look at the T-Mobile plans and I'm glad I didn't wait, they look pretty rubbish.

I asked my local Apple Store this question.

They told me that I can't pay by cash so I'll have to take a debit card.

I told them I bought all my phones from the Apple Store by putting the cash onto a gift card.

They said "oh that won't work anymore" then mumbled something about linking the card ect.

Even though I don't want to buy a contract I apparently have to pay by card.

Don't know if anyone has had any luck with cash though... I'm still waiting to actually get my email to buy the phone. :)
