Has anyone managed to get a Micro Sim from Orange? I only have a standard sim from my HTC Desire.

I have cut my existing standard one for now but just in case I would rather get a official one from Orange.

You just need to call them up and they will pop one in the mail to you. Then just call them again to activate it... Easy

Well Apparently you do =/! Extra £10 a month on top off my Contract but you get "Unlimited" Data and Wifi? I didn't think Orange even had Wifi enabled hotspots?

Also does anyone have any Experience with Insurance for iPhones?

I am currently paying £11.99 a month for my HTC Desire with the GeekSquad which in my opinion is a rip off!

I was looking at these guys - https://www.mobilephoneinsurancedirect.com - £5.50 a month for a 32gb iPhone 4 seems to good to be true!

Yaaay... called up and ordered my 16GB today from Tesco.

£20pm/ 12months

Delivery in the next 2-5 working days:D

how? I called them up and they said they didn't have any and didn't know when the next lot would be coming in. maybe they were lying........

Honestly I couldnt say how they were running their operation... all I know is I've been calling up on and off for the last two weeks, twice Ive given my contact details for someone to call me back but they never did.

So this morning, I rang up just after 8am and spoke to someone who said the usual that they had none in stock offering me the 3gs, and didnt know when they would get any more in, fine i thought:(.. I then called again an hour later and spoke to another rep indicating I was ready to buy the iPhone 4 now! again he said none in stock but would take my details and put me on the reserve list, to which I replied that I already gave my details twice before as recent as last week! but no one ever calls me back!

The rep then tells me to still give my details and ask me to specify what plan I wanted and also explained about the upfront cost. He told me he would call around a few stores then give me a call back in half an hour if he found any...

I thought yeah right...here we go again:rolleyes:...however true to his word he calls me back apologises for the inconvenience and offers me the 16GB!:)

I guess it really is down to luck on who you speak to, and persistence. My partner thought I was silly ringing Tesco and local stores every other day...she's not wrong...it is quite silly in the grand scheme of things, all to get a phone. oh well.. beats camping outside stores in the early hours of the morn...now thats going too far imo.

anyone know how long it takes Tesco to deliver their handsets?

my mum just signed a two year unltd mins contract with tmobile yesterday. they say she'll have it by tomorrow morning.

I ordered mine from the Apple uk store online on 20th september, estimated delivery 13th October :(

What is the problem with Tesco?

I'm after an iPhone 4 on a 12 month contract. Got a 3G already. With the iP4 "problems" I think iP5 will be cool so don't want to tie myself down for too long.

I've been trying to get sense out of Tesco about availability for a while but it seems a total mess, no supply chain at all.

Just got off the phone from them to be told it would be better to pester my "local" Tesco phone shop. I pointed out that for me that's about a 3hr return trip. Rep response? "It depends on how much you want one then"!

No, it depends on how important a 12 month contract is to me, cuz I can get one (or a delivery date) quick enough from my local O2 or Orange shops. Jeez, why don't Tesco just come out and admit they can't actually get a supply of these, just a few here and there?

Before I go to Orange or O2 I would just like to know the honest supply situation at Tesco, that's all.

/end rant ;-)

Just looking for a little advice.

I had an 3GS on o2 - I smashed it. I've currently got six months left on Simplicity — so £90 if I want to buy out of it. o2 will upgrade to 4 for £65.

I'm quite tempted by the Vodafone Quidco offer of £80 cashback, plus the contract seems better with Vodafone too.

I wonder also if, once I transfer my number from o2 to Vodafone, if the o2 contract can still be left alive with a new phone number. If so, I could let someone use it for the remaining six months and maybe get a bit of cashback that way.

Any ideas?

Once you use your PAC code it terminates your contract.

Just got a iPhone 4 from Tesco, got it from my local phone store which is in Stockton, Teesside. Was talking to they guy and he said they just got about 50 in, 16gb and 32gb, asking how fast there where going and he said it was a bit slow with this batch.

Anyway it was on 4.1.2, so if anyone in the Teesside area is after one then Tesco Stockton should still have some, phone first to check.

Finally went into the Apple store to buy my iPhone 4 today. Guess what? sold out!

I rung in the day before and they had them in stock, so I just presumed they'd still have them in a day later!

A guy who worked there told me to reserve one online and pick it up... I can't find that option though. Anyone know where abouts it is on the apple UK site?

Micro sim

I bought the iPhone 16 gb unlocked from the Apple store. I now need to get a micro sim so I can actually use my phone that's just laying around.

Can someone explain to a person who doesn't speak tech language what to do next?

Also, next year I will spend four months out of the country and plan on taking my Iphone with me to the country I spending 4 months in. This was the main reason I bought it unlocked so I wasn't forced into a contract.

Is it possible to get a pay as you go thing? And by that, I mean that I can just randomily fill money in my phone when I need it. And when I move to spend 4 months in a different country, I can just take my iPhone with me and insert another micro sim from a provider in that country.

Go to your carrier's nearest store and ask them to switch your present SIM for a microSIM - this should take five minutes and cost nothing.

Connecting an IP4 to an overseas carrier will depend on the availability of microSIMs in that country. If a carrier in your destination country already sells IP4, and given that your phone is factory unlocked, you should be able to purchase a microSIM with local airtime/data on a PAYG basis.

Check to see if the phone carriers in the country supply microsims. If not take a sim cutting tool with you and buy a normal sim and cut it down.

I'm an international student, that moved to the UK one week ago...So I don't have a carrier in the UK or a UK phone. My iPhone is my only UK phone.

Im not sure mobile phone shops are still clued up about the micro sim.

I went to O2, Orange and T-Mobile shops and they each had different quotes.

O2, i was able to get the micro sim free, no questions asked.

Orange, the guy said they dont give them free and the cheapest they do it on PAYG is £15.

T-Mobile, i asked for a PAYG micro sim with £10 credit on it, and he said it would cost £20! 10 for the top up and 10 for the micro sim itself!

ridiculous.

should all shops be giving them away free?
