Went to Apple store in the Arndale in Manchester on Monday, but they had none in stock.

So I went to the 3 Store in St. Anne's Square. I expected them to have none, whereas they asked me "How many do you want?" :)

10 minutes later I was out. £99 and £30 a month is fantastic, especially when I've sold my old iPod Touch on ebay for £100.

There are large queues at regents street and covent garden most days with people lining up at 2am!!!! I think there is a big black market as almost all the people in the queue look like they will sell on.

Anyway, anyone know if there are queues outside Brent Cross? Do they have regular stock?

Thanks.

Theres a difference. Contract iPhone 4s are plentiful in London. You can walk into any carrier specific shop or general one and pick up an iPhone 4 on contract (excl. Tesco!) It's the SIM free unlocked phone that you will not find in available in any Apple retail store.

What are the shipping times for the unlocked iPhone 4s? I know the online Apple Store says three weeks, but maybe the delivery is getting faster?

It's pretty much like it said on the website 3 weeks. I ordered mine just over a week a go and should be here for the 29th. But my mum walked in the Apple Store last week and she got a 32GB so it depends on your luck

Apple just sent me an email saying that the shipment has been dispacthed. It should be delivered here by today or tomorrow. Had an estimated delivery time of Spet 22. It shipped on 17th Sept. About 5 days earlier :D

Best part is, apple released the pre-authorization on my account and I see a full balance on my debit card now? Do they pull the money when the shipment is received or is it a kind of mistake from their part?

Well it was with Voda:

http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/iphone/pay-as-you-go.html?dfacid=1&cid=aff-aw-default-47868

Using discount code "nation10" for 10% off and quidco.com for another £5 off brought prices to £427 and £507 for the 16GB and 32GB respectively.

Looks like they have now removed the code though :( Shame as it's been working for about 10 days. Sorry.

EDIT: It seems the code still works if you use Google Chrome rather than Firefox! :D

Unfortunately the phone is still locked to Vodafone. So even though its contract free, the contract SIM you use or PAYG SIM you use has to be Vodafone.

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/topic/69128-apple-iphone-4-unlocking/

We will be able to offer free unlocking for iPhones acquired from Vodafone which are no longer within contract commitment.

When you complete the duration of your contract, whether it's 12, 18 or 24 months, or you pay your Early Termination Fee to cover the line rental, it's possible to request free unlocking of the handset via the usual contact methods.

Kind Regards,

Tom

That's a sticky in the official Voda iP4 forum.

Worst case scenario is we will have to pay £19.99 to get the phone unlocked.

Yep it costs £19.99 to unlock...im considering sending my 16gb back to apple umber the 30 money back guarantee and upgrading to the 32gb for £34!

Asi I stated on another thread, I ordered a 32gb on 31/8, got a delivery date of 25/9, but it arrived on 7/9 (despatch notice was 4/9)

I think you were lucky. I ordered 9/9 and it is still not despatched 10 days later (shipping estimated 30/9, delivery 4/10).

Apple knows they will sell them and dont care where to. They get the money regardless of it going to India or a local guy in Essex

They get £599 from you either way and dont care where it ends up
