Probably just regular Sunday maintenance but we can keep our fingers crossed for some sort of pricing news.

Also, the Microsim, I put my address in the O2 form for one, but it said it 'may' send one, but it's not guaranteed... Is there anywhere I can get one? Elsewhere? Or at least a guaranteed way!

You will get one with the iPhone, you should just be able to phone up and get your existing number and account transferred onto this sim.

It says on: http://shop.o2.co.uk/new-iphone/micro-sims.html

We can't guarantee that everyone who registers for iPhone 4 updates will get a micro sim, so if you don't get one in the post, don't worry. If you decide to buy iPhone 4, you will get your micro sim at the same time as your iPhone 4.

Quick question...

Just thought of this on another thread, with the improved antenna in the iPhone 4 do you think it will make it much better for keeping and holding onto a 3g signal in area's where it tends to flip a lot beween 2g/3g?

Hopefully Pre-order News/Prices and More Accessories updates such as Dock/Bumpers.

Or it could be Mac Mini and Mac Pros...

Or nothing at all.

Interesting bit from the av forums I also belong to....

One of the country's leading phone retailers. What i've told is not in the awareness of the public but only with the staff. All staff of these retailers (carphone warehouse, apple, O2 etc.) will be briefed a day before the preorders are announced. Carphone warehouse for e.g. told me that unless they are briefed tomorrow, they will not be taking preorders on the 15th, but obviously will be sometime before the 24th.

This guy reckons the 16gb will be £429-£450 and the 32gb around £539

It could be nothing, probably will be :(
But if they do put up the new iPhone etc, probably won't include prices :(

"Unlimited Data" = 500MB + FUP.

I don't know what you mean?

If you originally had unlimited data and don't upgrade and just get a microsim you still have unlimited data in accordance to FUP 9how much data do they allow you?)

*edit, store is down for US too

Just a quick question or two.. I've never pre-ordered anything from Apple before...

When you pre-order online, do you pay then, or do they take the money when they dispatch it?

And do you get it on release day, or do they send it on release day, getting there a few days later?

And can you pre-order and collect from your local Apple store?

Good questions. Would an order be dispatched before the release date so it arrives on the day?

Apple almost always do a pre-authorisation on the card that you use, but only charge/bill the card as soon as the order status changes to shipped/dispatched.

You almost always get the order either the day of release - highly likely - but the odd occasion, a day early. If it falls on a bank holiday, then it can even be delayed by a day. But rule of thumb, you get it on the day of release.

do you have to use a card from a British Bank when ordering online? i'm thinking of buying from N.Ireland (from Rep. of Ireland but have family in Northern Ireland) with my irish credit card.

You can give it a go, but I would have thought the item has to be shipped to the billing address of the card?

If it helps, some people have ordered from the US Apple Store, and had items shipped back to England, UK - and yet others, like me, have had the transactions declined.

To be sure, if you really want it, do it the logical way: either get your friends or family to order it for you as a gift, then activate and register it yourself once received, or I would just order it from my own home country to simplify matters.

/good luck

Thank you for the info. I'm just going through my options at the moment and seeing which would be the best. ive just sold my 3gs and am on an old old nokia so buying abroad is looking very attractive for me!
My 'plan' is (although i'd say i'll hold out until it's released in Ireland but that could be the end of July, or later) for one of my relatives (if they won't accept my Irish card) to buy it for me using their card and try and get it unlocked via the online form (if they don't change their unlocking policy for this phone) which would mean i could use it here in Ireland with the option of choosing whichever carrier.
That's the plan....

Trouble is, Ireland and Northern Island tend to get 'treated' as a separate entity from Mainland UK (England, Scotland and Wales) by most companies, so it's difficult to predict what the pre-order/release day processes are likely to be.

It's further complicated by the fact that really we have little facts for sure, until the moment of pre-order/release !! - stating the obvious here.

We'll all just have to be patient, and hope we get what we want :)

Very true. I understand Ireland being treated differently - different country and what not but Northern Ireland should be 'treated' the same as the rest of the UK. Here's hoping it will be.

Hopefully we won't have to wait to long. Lost without my iphone, although i could get used to having a phone battery that lasts more a day!

Not long to go within a couple of weeks hopefully you'll be holding a new iphone 4
