I thought it would ship soon after, since it does say "Prepared to ship", but that was about 15 hours ago. It still hasn't shipped. =/ Ship date is today, delivery date is Friday. 2.8 octo, 8800gt, 500gb, wifi, 2xsuper drives and some software.

It will ship today (usually), but the status and tracking # won't be updated till the end of the day. They seem to do it in bunches.

45 minutes here. then I'll be hauling this giant box out the door and down the interstate to my house:)

Nope, nothing yet. I'm hoping it's going to get to a local (main-ish) hub sometime tonight, get transferred to the closest FedEx center, then go out for delivery tomorrow morning.

Also praying the snow didn't delay it.

Yay, crisis averted! My package just arrived in NJ. Should be on schedule to arrive tomorrow. ;-)

Arrived at FedEx location
KEASBEY, NJ

I have that, but it doesn't really justify my leaving work early to play with my new computer... Oh well, almost 4:00 here, so just another hour to go.
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought the concern was over how to convince a guard or receptionist that the heavy box was really yours. :)

2.8 Octo, 8800gt, 500gb, wireless card, otherwise stock.
No reason I can think of holding up my order.
I even sent an email to Steve Jobs last night. Got a call back this am from one of his assistants who's "looking into it" and will get back to me today. Was pretty surprised, actually. (ordered 1/16)
We'll see.

Well, the gentleman called me back today after his research of my order, to say it was imminent. I now see my credit card has been hit, and the status is now "prepared for shipment".
I have this image of Steve Jobs, hisself, sealing the carton with packing tape.
Or a fire was lit. Or it was coincidence. In any case, they seemed attentive to my woes and it's great to finally see movement.

Yeah, they were super-nice when I called them this morning as well. I'd had no idea I was "prepared to ship." I was going to change the delivery method.

So, of course, no change. They did, of course, say they'd've changed it to the fastest method at no charge. ;)

Which is also easy to say when you know you can't.

Did you keep Jobs's pool boy's dogwalker's girlfriend's ex's phone number, in case any of us needs it?

Stuart

Just got the credit card notification message from Apple. Cleared it up with my bank in 5 minutes even though I called them late last week to let them know about the charge. Now I have to wait until 10am my time to contact Apple in order to clear it up with them. Received a message from them at 1am. Geesh...

Lo and behold. Went from "Prepared for Shipment" to "Shipped" last night and will be here today. Fullerton to Boston in record time. I guess even a blind squirrel can find a nut. Seems like my email to Steve bore fruit. At least I'd like to think so, anyway.

I am lost in the wastelands !!!

Ordered 1/19/08 and still nothingggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

This is weird. My card was declined right off the bat. We called the CC company right then and there, cleared up in less than a minute from getting through and nary a problem since. Mine left from Anaheim this morning to arrive on Monday. Different CC companies must handle things differently from each other - many of the ones I've seen mentioned are with Chase... we have one affiliated with an airline (this Mac took us quite a ways toward another Maui getaway, btw... :D:cool:). It's past 10 there now - have you cleared it up yet?! ;)

Ordered 3.0 w/500HD and 8800Gt on 1/10/08. Still scheduled for shipment 2/19--no change.

At least my "ship by" date is only 5 more days away. The wait has been very painful.

Back when I had a Visa card they would sometimes require voice conformation from me before they would accept big charges, but Amex have been great, many thousand dollar Mac orders, no questions asked.

Just wanted to offer a "final" update... I got mine yesterday morning and it is SNAPPY. I got the 3.0 with 4 gigs of RAM.

Bought Crysis to run it through its paces and it performed well, though I couldn't run it at 1920x1080 at full settings without seeing some slowdown. Damn that game is a system hog. Unfortunately, it's not geared to take advantage of multi-core processors, so it's not the system's fault. Since I installed XP, I had to use DX9 settings as opposed to DX10 which are Vista-only. Can't wait to get some Mac games soon...

Good luck on those yet to ship! ;-)
