No issues with battery on mine since 10 was released. Going to wait to see more reports of battery life on 10.1.1

10.1.1 has been a huge disappointment. Updated watch and iPhone yesterday. Rebooted both. Used throughout the day (battery still draining 10%+/hr) so rebooted again last evening and charged it to 100% and went to bed at 11:30pm. Woke up at 6:30am and my watch was at 58%.

I’ll give it a couple days because background processes/optimizations/blahblahblah. Oh, and I’ll submit another ticket.

From my one day experience, 10.1.1 is worse on battery than 10.1. Way worse.
I did not have any noticeable drain on my Ultra 2 running 10.1(but I did come from an S4 with a roached battery so the Ultra is amazing...)

Upgraded to 10.1.1 and battery life seems somehow even better. I charged the watch to 100% last night around 10:30pm. Wore it to bed and when I woke up it was at 98%. Now about 5 hours later it is at 93%. I used the watch as my boarding pass today at security, the SkyClub and boarding the plane. so much better, easier and faster than the S4. So now 10+ hours from a full charge and using the watch at full brightness (I just left the boarding pass on my screen) and still in the 90's for battery life.

I can't complain about those numbers...

10.2 will solve the issue you can only get it in BETA so sign up for Apple BETA and then install 10.2 and then you can turn BETA off if you want. I had many issues not just the battery and this solved my issues.

No, it’s false, 10.2 doesn’t solve the issue for everyone.
Most people have no problems since 10.0
Some have solved the problems by different ways (updates, reset, unpair …)
Some had no problem with 10.0 and have problems since 10.1 or 10.1.1
Some still have issues since the beginning
There is no general rule or general fix.
It’s probably a very complex issue between iOS and watchOS.

Day 2 of 10.1.1 and I have 67% battery as of 5 pm MT, which is about 10 points higher than normal this time of day (and yesterday, which was Day 1 of 10.1.1) so my Watch seems to have settled down again.

Not convinced I’ve noticed any improvement on the latest watchOS. Battery life was so much better in watchOS 9 sadly

Yep, I'm on the 10.2 beta, and I was seeing the same battery issues mentioned above. I'm updated to the Beta 2 last night, and I *think* I'm seeing an improvement. it's on 75% after 6 hours, which is significantly better than previously. It's not out of the woods yet, but the signs are positive!

10.2 beta 2, worse than ever. They may not have included the battery improvements of version 10.1.1 yet.

Update on my experience with AWU2 after 10.1.1 has been on for a few days. Full charge completed on Wednesday at 9:30am, is now Friday 20:08. That’s 59 hours.

I have 22% battery left

No complaints, none, zero, nada

AWS5 on 10.1.1 - barely makes it through the day.
60-90 minute workout - will fall to 20% before 20 hours....disappointed to say the least.
If I could I would retrograde to Watch OS 9

Battery has been more or less decent for me on 10.1.1 - I take it off the AC adapter around 5:20AM and I'm back home around 6PM between 40-50%!

I don't often come to the forums here but I did today because my experience of WatchOS10 is:
- Battery drain. I could go to my bed at night with 20% remaining when I took it off to put on its charge stand. Now I get to about 7pm and my watch dies.
- Timer App. Sucks. I like to set a timer, pause immediately and then start, pause, start. Can't now because the pause button is about 1 pixel in width and only works if you hit it at the correct angle with the moon and stars aligned properly. OK not the moon and stars bit but FFS what a disaster OS10 is... I wish I'd never updated it now... :(

My ultra, and now my ultra two have always been rocksteady when it comes to battery life losing no more than an average of just over one percent an hour with very light usage. I tend to recharge when it drops to 40% and charge it up to 80%
When I upgraded to 10.1.1, I lost 12 percent in the first five hours, which was a huge change. That was only the first day and a half though and since then battery performance is now back to what it was previously so I think there is a of syncing going on in the background following an update plus I did a hard reset on my phone and watch.

Update 10.1.1 did absolutely nothing. Last three days I had same exact ritual. I took off my watch from a charger put in on my wrist and go for a walk with my dogs. I don't take my iPhone with me. Day 1. 25 minutes walk. No workout but music and one phone call. I lost 6%.
Yesterday same thing but without music and phones calls. Still 100% when back home. Today everything the same as yesterday. No workout no music. Nothing. 5% lost. Why? Right now I have 93%. 93% !!. After maybe one and half hour. Ridiculous. The one and only solution is hard reset which I perform every 2/3 days because of these all bugs I have.

What's worse my wife has latest watchOS 9 and she lost same 7% in 1,5h. Maybe it is all about iOS 17...

Unfortunately I don't have good news for you. You can have 2/3 perfect days and the day after you will see unexplained draining. Like me. Check my post above. Absolutely no idea what is going on.

I’m just reading with interest the replies and I was wondering for a brand new AWU2 on 10.1, I’m at 40 hours and 31% of battery left. Let’s see if I get 48 hours later. Is this normal?
