For the 13", there is. it's more powerful than the best skylake you can get in the 13" (maxed out), and use twice less energy.
And that's not even the problem. We should have had skylakes last year, then the better Kaby Lakes ones in Q1 2017 or something. instead we have outdated ****, dongles etc etc

I've already pointed out, as have many others that it would have been a step back in graphics performance.

The skylakes in the 15" only come out a few months ago.

How hard is it for you to comprehend that the best Kabylake that you so love is inferior when it comes to iGPU. The Iris Graphics on these skylakes are better than the Intel HD on the Kaby Lake processor.
You get 10% improvements in CPU but 40% Lower performance in Graphics.

I would rather have slightly slower processing power and far superior Graphical Performance, then the other way around

I feel like we are going in circles.

This guy (who keeps bringing up kabylake) has been ranting about the same thing that has been debunked at least a dozen times already... this is what i mean when i made this topic of useless whining

In an ideal situation, I'd personally prefer a better CPU (Kaby Lake), and throw the power saved towards a dedicated GPU instead of an integrated GPU.

Everyone has their preferences. For myself, a dedicated GPU has always suited my needs better than an integrated GPU.

The dongle issue is real. Even with the 2015 rmbp and its missing ethernet port, I have 3 ethernet dongles because I didn't have one on me when I needed it, had to run to best buy, and now I have 3 stupid obsolete thunderbolt 2 ethernet dongles which raised the cost of my mac by $105 plus the time cost of 3 trips to the store. When the laptop becomes too thin to hold the ports I need, that is too thin. Ethernet isn't some dying technology, people will be using it for many years to come. This one bad decision isn't a show stopper for me but I see a pattern of many similar bad decisions such as only offering 16gb and then coming up with every excuse "ohhh the faa said we can't have 32gb" or "actually, if you knew what you were doing you wouldn't need 32gb" or "its intel's fault we can't give you 32gb, ignore all those pc laptops that have 32 or 64gb". I'm just shaking my head and seriously contemplating not taking any more ios work and leaving the apple system.

I'd like to avoid calling people names, but you're exactly what everyone is thinking. The FAA doesn't regulate the ram, the FAA regulates the battery capacity. You can't have 32GB of ram, and expect 10 hours of battery life with the battery limitations available. Other laptops that DO have 32GB ram, are getting 1 - 4 hours of battery, OR, are to heavy to actually use a laptop.
you're argument was both painful, and full of failed logic. Try again.

The problem here is that the power saved is only around 13 watts. You won't find any dedicated GPU that is competive with the igpu until you hit the 35watt range (the gpus in the 15 inch for instance).

4 hours of battery life is more battery life than anyone will ever need. If you think you need more, well you need to re-evaluate your work flow and use the machine correctly. Only whiners and people who think they are pros care about getting more than 4 hours of battery life. I mean like, a 10 hour battery is going to make the machine too heavy to use.

Am I using correct macrumors logic now?

People use their laptops when travelling, Or in university, not all class rooms have power plugs attached to each desk you know. 4 hours is no doubt generous, but I would want more for my machine. But thats the compromise, I dont need that much power for my needs, instead i value portability and battery life more. People like you can opt the other way.
So no, people who need more battery life don't need to re-evaluate their work flow, nor do people who need less battery life and more power. needs vary from person to person

I don't agree with this logic I'm just using the same logic the 16gb defenders use to tell me I'm wrong.

Quick observation .... sat next to a guy on the train today on the way back from work with a Surface pro and he had 2 dongles !!!!! plugged in ... Yes 2 dongles. It's such a shame for all those who have gone and bought surface pro's , because they are so disappointed with the 2016 MacBook Pro. Guess they are not Pro enough for the real pros either

why did he use those dongles?

Didn't speak to him with fear of looking like a lunatic for asking about his dongles :).

However one was WIFI dongle fair enough but the other was a dongle full of other ports but mainly usb by the looks of it.

doesnt it have only one usb-port?

Better Screen, Better Sound, Better SSD,Better CPU and iGPU and better GPU in 15inch, better form factor seems like nothing to you guys ?

Well, I ordered my first Mac laptop (I had a couple minis before this), and I am VERY happy with the specs of the new MBP 15". I'm a developer that uses VM's a lot, and the new MBP will fit that quite well, especially with the fast SSD. (1TB in my case) 16GB is enough RAM. It would be nice to have extra, but I can always run something on another computer if needed. As for the ports, I love the new USB-C, dual sided, smaller, and faster than traditional USB, I can't wait until I don't need any any USB-A's anymore. Yes, I'll need adapters for awhile, but I already have dongles for my Windows laptop, just different ones. (I have last year's Surface Book)

Not sure but I think that's the point. Dongles in to dongles. People are getting hysterical over the port issue but others have the same issue on other formats it's the way tech is going

what

how could you even think this? imagine you're running around to meetings collaborating and presenting all day (most days for many working people)

you don't want to set up a charger in every single meeting man

That is the perfect market for 12 hour ultralights.

when im at conference or so, there are lots of plugs around to attach your laptop into a power garden.. when i meet people, they always ask about to where they can plug their laptops. our conference room has lots of plugs. never seen anyone without a having a power brick with them or able to get an electricity from the wall.

ever seen a guy presenting something without having a power brick in their bags? that would be crazy to go to see people and trust to have enoughh juice for the whole day.

Not to mention my 2013 rMBP only gets 45 minutes to an hour while producing a video with Final Cut. To drop the battery down to 4 hours instead of 10 would be a MAJOR MAJOR issue.

nope.. you are doing sonething wrong! it must be 10hours because apple said so... oh wait, they were testing only light browsing and itunes :p

Not all of them, but this place does seem to attract a disproportionate number of self entitled drama queens.

Exactly. But if they added all these extra components and Apple says it will last 4-5 hours, that would be much worse! How much battery would I have then? 20 minutes?

Yes, a lot of it is that, quite frankly, the "crazies" are drawn to discussion forums because it gives them a voice, and because they're nutty, they tend to dominate the forums and drown everyone else out to such an extent that the "sane" people eventually give up and don't bother to post (much), because after a while, what's the point?... you find yourself arguing with crazy people a lot here.
