Honest question for you and I hope you will answer honestly: Watch that video again. When the app is opened to the white background filling the ears, are you not drawn to the notch at the top? Does it not distract from the experience of viewing the app?
Yeah definitely are. Big ole ugly notch. Everyone has been saying that since May. It's going to look worse in the dark, everyone knows that. With a white, or black bezel.
Now your last question, does it distract from the experience of viewing the app? This is the question Apple has decided to answer on their own, despite it's appearance. They will say no.
I also will say no, weakly. At first it does, and when you're looking at the status bar, or where the "back" arrow would be, etc. However the real content of the screen (below the status bar and arrows) I would say it's not impacted. This is one of those things you'll get used to after using it for a week or so.
I still think it sucks, but Apple will simply ignore that, since it's not a big enough deal for them to change their plans over.
Excusing the shoddy photoshop skills, this is how much it will suck to watch anything on though.
White background it looks passable, as soon as you swap it it black....
Honestly, that looks the same as all the previous white bezel's to me. I've never liked any of them for that reason. This one is better than the ones in the past, because there is less bezel.

Cool your jets, son. I never said that. I've been jailbreaking since the original 74-step jailbreak.
But the fact is that private jailbreaks are much more prevalent now than public ones. The monetary rewards from Apple and security companies for exploits are very tempting.
I don't believe in end all be all conclusions. If there was a reason for jailbreaking to begin with, there will continue to be a reason. The game is rotating, not ending. It will probably be longer between jailbreaks, as it's been the last year or two, but jailbreaking will still be around. I mentioned previously, yes small time devs (who used to do individual exploits, etc) are now being replaced by big time dev teams (mainly chinese) who will be providing the tools from here on.
Once this phone is released, there will be even more reason for a jailbreak, since they'll be making all these major software changes such as gestures, and the ears.
