I LOVE the X when I laying around on the couch or when I’m inside the house. I also love how comfortably pocketable the X is. Had a Plus in the past and had to return it cause it wasn’t comfortably pocketable.

The X is an amazing device. For me it’s amazing to use when I’m in settings that can allow me 2 handed use. I don’t work in an office setting I work outside. I often get texts and have to respond to texts one handed. I also have to use certain apps one handed. Maybe I have small hands but can’t do these comfortably one handed. I have to drop what I’m doing and respond or do certain apps 2 handed. With the 7 I could easily and comfortably do one handed. I dropped my X a couple times luckily on the grass cause I was trying to do stuff one handed and it slipped out of my hand from adjusting the phone. I had to switch the sim back into my 7 for work last week.

Anyone else finding the X a little too big for one handed use? I always would have loved to see a 7 with full screen and no home button keeping the same form for one handed use.

Did you try the one handed keyboard? Was it of any benefit?

Apple has gone from being building products around customers to expecting customers to shape their habits around the "great" stuff they make. Sat this point what can you do but suck it up and comply. Or stick with the older models.

Almost. It is just that little bit wider and heavier that it is harder to use one handed. I think I’ll adapt though - not nearly as bad as the plus was

It’s definitely the width for me. Typing this post I’m on my X and typing with 2 hands. Trying to type with one hand is almost doable sitting here on the couch. If I drops it will drop on my lap. At work if it drops it will drop on concrete or something.

Right. Just thinking out loud here how I can adapt to this amazing device.

By using it the way it was ended and being careful not to do it while walking or standing on a pavement or being dead drunk I suppose

At work I’m usually walking and standing while texting or using certain apps trouble shooting different issues. And no I’m not in an environment where I’ll get run over by a car or bump into someone.

Man i would pay grand to have a 4.7” all screen. Like iPhone 8 without top and bottom bezels.

I would pay for the exact same size as the 7 with full screen. I’m pretty sure in the 7 they can make it a a 5” screen.

Just the opposite. I think the X is Apple’s attempt to return to “the one” flagship that fits the widest range of customers.

Until there is a X-Plus...

I’m ready to go to work and going to put the sim back into my 7.

Except they manufactured an iPhone with a 5.8 inch display in a smaller form factor, that seems to be a middle ground for most. It might be larger, but it certainly is not the bulk of what the iPhone Plus model is. But there will never be a 'one size fits all' phone, no matter what Apple manufactures for an iPhone.

Weight and having a taller display might also be playing a factor. The weight of the PS Vita phat holding it while lying in bed is why I wanted the slim.

iPhone SE - 113g
iPhone 6 - 129g
iPhone 7 - 138.3g
iPhone 6s - 143g
iPhone 8 - 148g
iPhone 6 Plus -172g
iPhone X - 174g
iPhone 7 Plus - 188g
iPhone 6s Plus - 192g
iPhone 8 Plus - 202g

Lightest 4.7" is the 6. The X is heavier than the 6 Plus but lighter than the last three Plus models. Add the fact that many are adding cases to make it feel more like a brick.

X is smaller than the Plus models thanks to being narrower and shorter but it's noticeably heavier and feels more condensed than the 4.7" models. The 4th heaviest iPhone ever.

I noticed this right away when picking it up and trying to use it one-handedly. Weight adds bulk. Not just dimensions. This will be a bit of a shock for folks who are accustomed to 4.7" iPhones.

Agreed and thanks for the chart.

It'll take me a bit longer to get used to picking up this heavier phone, coming from a 7. Funny how light and crazy thin the 7 feels now, but I'm not going back.

According to my scale, my 7 and X (both in  leather cases) have a total weight difference that is roughly equal to my AirPods case with only one AirPod in it.

I want to see an iPhone Mini for sure. I think we’ll see one in the next few years.

The weight and thickness of the X bothers me more than the size. If the X was thinner and lighter, I could see myself with this form factor.

It’s way better than the Plus I had this year, so I’ll raise a glass to that.

I feel the same way and debating on returning the x for the 8
I have both devices in hand and I’ll be returning the X for the 8 after the holidays are over. Want to show my friends and family the X.

I’m left handed.

I could use my 7 one handed 100% of the time.

I can use the X one handed about 50% of the time.

Tapping the safari tabs button in the bottom right corner is nearly impossible with my left thumb. Accessing control center is equally difficult one handed.

But playing with my wife’s 7 after a week with the X makes the 7 feel like a 5. I’ll live with two handed operation.

Not the vote Apple was hoping for.

There's always a threshold of a little bit bigger is just too big, perhaps Apple has hit that for many with the X vs the 8?
