Had some nice features…a larger display and more battery? Because literally nothing else is different.
You’re right. It was really just the larger display. Better for reading messages etc. for her vision.

I still dont understand why a phone battery autonomy is such a relevant thing. I mean: everyone became homeless or everyone became so lobotomized to permanently look just at the phone....
Travelling extended distances or multi-day hiking with no electricity in between. For example, when I did the Annapurna Trek in Nepal, I had the phone in flight (mostly no coverage anyway) and power save mode, so it'll last a few days.

But honestly, more airplanes, trains, coaches and airports now have power or usb plugs and if you go hiking, you can probably afford to carry a power pack, solar charger or invest in a dedicated device (e.g. Garmin).

it's not that an oversized 6.1" or 6.7" phone gives you double or tripple the battery time.

and if I go out for the evening and not carry a jacket or a bag, the mini has more than enough battery power to communicate with friends, look for and book trains and google maps me to the location while playing an audiobook during transit.

It would be cool if the Apple did a Mini every three years. Just to serve the market. That way they could justify the manufacturing with higher unit counts presumably. Throw us a bone, if you will.

so u think like me. however my message was referred to the guy above that said autonomy is crucial

I think at this rate can Apple etc justify releasing phones every year anymore?

They probably will, and it'll be called the SE.

I like how everyone who dislikes the mini and just wants to see it gone (no idea why because I bet they worshiped the thumb reach a few years ago) keeps resorting back to 13 million sales being low.

I really hope you all pointing that out aren't running businesses or making decisions. Yes, it's a low number, yet no one is really asking why. Hell, I don't even think Apple knows why. I know why I was reluctant to buy it:

1. No pro features. The cameras are meh just like the iPhone 13.
2. Mini branding sucks if you want to attract a large audience. Just call it iPhone s.
3. Lack of promotion (no, not ProMotion, but that too). There was near zero promotion on why a smaller phone was great.

5.4" screen is awesome, the size is great for daily use, the weight is perfect. The features are simply lacking. You killed demand with branding and didn't customers back in with premium features or any marketing. It's not that hard of a concept.
To be fair, integrating a third camera would use up significant space.

Personally I couldn't care less about the "Pro" camera since I'm only a casual photographer and the 13 Mini camera is perfectly fine for me.

Again, I have medium sized hands and don't find any of those things to be true with my 13 PM let alone the standard sized iPhone (6.1"). I think some (not all, of course) people who say things like this about the non-Mini iPhones haven't actually used them at all or for an extended period of time (they use it a few minutes and immediately judge it because they're not used to it).

I used a X & XS for several years between my 5S and my 13 mini. I managed, but I found it uncomfortable after a while when holding it for long stretches. (I am a very heavy phone user. I also have small hands, even for a woman.) I caved and bought it when it seemed like Apple was done with making what I wanted: a phone that fits comfortably in my hands & pockets with the same internals as their mainline phone. The 13 mini is literally the phone I've dreamed of ever since iPhones started ballooning with the 6. I hope to get many years' use out of it, though I'll probably have to replace the battery (currently at 91% capacity after 10 months), maybe more than once.

1 battery ever year is literally cheap maintenance. you got twits on here replacing phone every year saying "its old tech, inferior slow etc" I mean its literally crazy.

Yes it is bizarre.
My 8 year old 2016 SE does basically everything the 13 mini does (plus a few things it doesn't....) , while also being lighter, smaller, no silly bumps or notches, cheaper and the battery lasts forever.

Futhermore, no-one's going to bother stealing / hacking / breaking into it as it's considered worthless and hopelessly out of date.

Strange old world we live in.

Just ordered 13 mini 128 GB. Got a nice discount from my carrier: around 625 EUR (500 EUR + tax) in installments spread to two years (26 EUR pear month). This is cheap for Europe :D
Can't wait to get back to iPhone after 3 years of Android experience. I will miss USB-C convenience.

I upgraded from my iPhone SE to 13 mini. Before that I was 4s lol to se and 3GS to 4s

So I’ve had like 3 phones in 10-11 years

I did my own battery changes in previous phones, but I have no issue paying apple for the future changes

Wow, wish I had your discipline. The (green) 13 mini is my current—it’s a great little phone. 💚
