Same. Given the power efficiencies, an iPad Air 3 as thick as the Air 1 will probably have better battery life than the 4.I'd like the opposite... An iPad Air 3 with the thickness of the Air 1 but the battery life of the iPad 4.

But it is questionable.
I don' t see apple releasing an ipad pro with the same soc as the air 3.
So the ipad pro will be getting a A9x. What will the air 3 get? A regular A9? I don' t see the regular A9 beating the powerfull A8x in the air 2. Perhaps it will be more energy efficient with the same performance. But that' s it. Perhaps force touch will be the advantage of the air3?
I hope there will at least be one ipad with the iphone 6 style design. But perhaps that will be just for the ipad mini 4. But if they update the air 2. At least i hope for a new soc update allowing ps4/xbox one graphics capabilities.
That would be great , after that they should release the apple tv4 with the same soc.

i dont think so - my only 6-7 hr if brightness 70% if brightness 100% with video watching and apps
not catching 10 hr like you said , that impossible
How are you NOT getting 10 hours? 100% brightness and watching non-native videos or gaming full time? 10 hours is my absolute minimum.
ipad air 2 still weight lift - i m waiting for less than a lbs ipad ,
These threads start on the 1st of November so ....Considering they release iPads in october, isnt it a bit early.
There will eventually be an iPad Air 3 even if they choose not to update it this Oct. I believe they'd still be updating it this Oct though even when the Air 2 is plenty fast. Might just be a slight bump in speed and battery life and shift the focus this year to the iPad mini 4 + iPad Pro.
