I think there will be an Air 3, whether they call it that or not is a different question.
The way I see it is there will be:
1) iPad Pro (or bigger iPad) which will be the new, talked about unveiling.
2) iPad Air 3, with minor improvements (processor, camera), akin to the iPad 3 -> iPad 4.
3) iPad Mini 4, with enough improvements to bring it more in line with the Air line. Basically not just a colour change like last time!
Pretty much agree.I think the Mini 4 will just be a 8-inch, A8X based iPad Air 3. It will get the same camera (which definitely has room for improvement on the Air 2), and if the Air 3 gets Force Touch, which I think is likely, the Mini 4 will as well. If the Air 3 gets battery life improvements, which is a step in the right direction, they probably won't apply to the Mini 4, but you get the idea. Most people should be satisfied.
Pretty much agree.
Think force touch however will not appear on iPads this year (like touch ID didn't). Air 3 battery to remain at '10 hour usage'.
No form factor changes for any tablets.

iPads are so 2010.
Time for the new Air 3 to have the A9X CPU and 3GB of RAM for better multitasking.
Only stupids think 2GB of RAM is enough.
But IMHO he's got a valid point there. All iOS devices so far have had very limited capabilities in terms of Multitasking. The 2GB of Ram in the Air 2 may have shown sufficient for "Solotasking plus" in iOS 8, but experience with the extended Multitasking and the full feature set of iOS 9 are not that widely available yet. You've obviously never used an Air 2.

Judging from multitasking experiences on other platforms, multitasking definitely needs more ram than simple Solotasking, sometimes significantly so.
You've obviously never used iOS 9. I have the Public BETA, and I've been pushing the multitasking capabilities to the limit, and so far, no memory issues. Trust me, it works fine.
Time for the new Air 3 to have ......3GB of RAM
It's only June...still a little early for iPad leaks especially if it's not going to be a huge update.
We're in mid July.
i don't think there will be an ipad air 3...
the air 2 is much more powerful than any other ios device, it seems to have been built for long lasting.
probably it will be matched by the iphone 6s this year (maybe on ram side, not 3 core processor).
in addition, if apple will release an ipad pro (which is very likely to be released this fall) they could choose not to release an other ipad that could affect the ipad pro sales.
just my opinion.
What are the odds that the Pro will be the S series of the iPad.
They could be alternating between Pro and Air every year.
THis would only makes sense if Pro has the same price like iPad Air.What are the odds that the Pro will be the S series of the iPad.

According to a thread on the news forum page there will NOT be an Air 3. Damn. Guess I'll stick with my perfectly good Air then. I wanted them to take care of the horrific chassis and screen vibration problem and I'd have likely upgraded but I won't be now. Not a huge deal though.
Oh well.
I use the multitasking/multiwindow capabilities on my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. 2GB RAM, 1600 x 2560 pixels, released in Feb 2014... it runs extremely well. But IMHO he's got a valid point there. I believe it. I'm looking forward to possibly getting an Air 2 (or Air 3 if there's a compelling reason) and running iOS 9.You've obviously never used iOS 9.
