You may want to check on that, its not no questions asked return policy if it is beyond 15 days time frame. Also they are charging restocking fees for certain items so beware of it.

Obviously within the 14 days :roll eyes: some people

I have an iPad Air with a beautiful screen. I'm thinking of returning it because, having read all these threads about troublesome displays, my Air might have a bad display even though I don't notice a thing wrong with it. I'm not taking any chances.

Hahahaha

I am going to order one from Apple tomorrow on 6 months interest free to test out. If its perfect i may keep it if not back it goes. No money down no risk. After iPad 1,2,3, and 4 problems i am entitled. Actually i might get 3 just to be safe. Will report back:)

The OP has a right to be concerned. The iPad Air needs much more than 1GB, it runs pretty slow on iOS7. Poor scrolling in Safari and slow launching of apps. Yes, Light Leakage is pretty poor on it and the screen has a terrible yellow hue in many sections. Couple that, it gets very hot and hard to hold because of that. Apple blew it with this one. :(

Well, I actually bought one yesterday morning and have been using it extensively ever since. I can conclusively say that I have not noticed even one of those issues with mine much less all of them. They didn't blow anything except for the competition out of the water. Again.

It's very disappointing when paying a good buck for an inferior product!

You bought a a galaxy tab by mistake? :D

I hope you're getting paid well to write BS like this.

I don't know about accessories, but no re-stock fees within 14 days on the iPad Air. I received this via an Apple store chat this morning when I had a return policy question:

At least Apple allows you to open the box and take it for a test drive. Being a 1st time iPad purchaser, this morning's chat was to ask if I could return it if I removed the film covering. Might sound stupid, but I honestly didn't know. With something this expensive, I thought it worth asking.

That works for me.

Zero problems with my iPad Air. Works great.

That gets into levels of perfectionism I can't even grasp. Even after you try pointing it out I can see nothing wrong with it.

I can't see it either.

You can return it, no questions asked regardless if its opened or not..

I recently returned my son's xbox 360 within 30 days (opened). All they do is check the serial # to prevent someone pulling off a switch-a-roo....

Thanks for the input. I've only had an issue once returning an item at Target and my fix was to just drive to a different Target. I haven't however tried to return a high ticket item. Hopefully, I won't need to test it this time. :)

Yes, just take it back to an Apple store if there is a problem & they will swap it easy peasy no matter where you bought it. I've done this with all my devices, which I usually get at the Microcenter because they are cheaper.

Did you buy one that exhibited all of these problems, or did you just read about it? I'm not trying to be nasty, so be nice. :D In the event that you do have one that's messed up, take it back. Mine is 100%, and I'm crazy picky when it comes to this stuff. You should see me buying car.... Flashlights and magnifying lenses aren't things you see at new car dealerships everyday. :D

I have to apologize for my post. I should've made it clear that it was sarcasm. It always seems to be the case that the people that kindly post that their iPad is perfectly fine get ignored. It's only the ones that put up a disturbing post that get recognized. I knew my post would get that type of attention. Was meant as sarcasm but I didn't at all make it clear.

We'll....Did you open it up? It's really very nice!!! ;) :D

No need to apologize. It's just a forum, and reading someone's intent can be quite difficult. I might use the emoticons too often, but that's because you can't see my face. ;) :) :D

I remember after the iPad 4 was released, some one created a thread to let us know that the screen was seriously defective and had serious light bleed issues (I think it was here on MR). Several of us commented that it hadn't been an issue on our iPad 4 and he then went into all caps mode. He insisted that every iPad 4 had this issue and that we were either too stupid to notice or lying.

Thing is, I believe he thought he was telling the truth and that some people will see glaring defects that others won't even notice. Perhaps some people have enhanced vision and are able to see a range of colors that the rest of us can't...I don't know. I do know that some people have a hyper sensitivity to defects that the rest of us aren't concerned about. I'm not suggesting that all Apple products are perfect and to be honest I've had to return a few of my own (iPhone 3g and iPhone 4), but obviously different people have different definitions of what is and isn't a defect.

I had a 16 GB iPad 4 which I really liked but I ran out of storage space so I sold it for a negligible loss a couple months ago in preparation for the iPad 5 'Air' release. Yesterday I purchased a 32 GB iPad Air at Target and it's still sitting unopened in it's box. I bought it at Target because had a 5% off coupon however their written return policy is a little ambiguous regarding opened items.

So here's is issue. I've read way too many thread post and it's making me second guess my purchase. Is 1 GB of ram really enough? Is my screen going to be off colored IE yellowish, bluish, pinkish or any colorish. Will there be light leakage. Is it going to have shadow bars on the screen. Is the iPad Mini Retina going to be 10x better. Are there going to be better deals coming up soon nearer to Christmas.

Please talk some sense into me.

Yes the mini will be 10x better

These screen obsessive posts come up everytime a new IOS device comes out.

I'm amazed somebody would leave of these unopened and not try and enjoy it.

I think the following post sums it up:

Why do I get the feeling you don't actually own an iPad Air?

For whatever reason the forum gets hit at every release by people who don't own the product and are either just trolling for the hell of it or basing their "opinion" on 5 minutes of playing with a display model. They need to make themselves feel better (perhaps they can't afford to buy a new iPad, or genuinely believe their Android or Kindle is better) so make up stories or exaggerate isolated cases of a problem.

It seems to make them happy, and every village needs one......

You won't be disappointed by iPad air. I assumed you didn't have any issue with your old iPad neither. I just returned my galaxy note 10 2014 edition for iPad air. Don't get me wrong GSN 10.1 2014 is really great device. I was hesitated at time if I want to return it for iPad air? If I had my way, I will keep both. iPad with iOS is really optimized, it run smooth. To me, it is a bit better then the GSN. I am happier with iPad air.

Holding my nice, cool, responsive, evenly-lit, no-light-leaking iPad Air in my hands right now, I'd say you're wrong on all counts.

There's been at least one of these on MR for pretty much every Apple product at the time of each one's release. All taking the exact same tack you describe, and usually culminating in threats of a class action suit.

Also: Anywhere from 1 to a dozen "I exchanged my iDevice/MacDevice 82484041328947132 times because I found defects in all of them" types. Those will start showing up here sometime next week.

I've heard about trepidation and prudence but this is another level.
