Extra screen real estate and longer battery life was enough to steer me towards the 6 plus. Size is pretty much the only downside of it compared the the regular 6. Combine the 6 plus with the jailbreak tweak "reachapp" and youre pretty close to true dual window multitasking. You can do it on the 6 but everything is just much more cramped due to the smaller sized screen. Battery life on the 6 was only marginally better than my old 5s whereas I'm consistently getting over 10 hours of usage and at least 2 days standby now.

The differences are so minimal that is an untrue statement. However the size difference is maximum. When people pull the 6+ outta their saddle bags and start talking on it they look like a tool.

Yep, all folks with larger smartphones talking with it look like a tool. Cannot argue with that freaking logic. That is all.

Glad you think the differences are minimal, from that alone everyone should have gotten the 6 and made a big mistake. Just wow.

My eye doctor keeps hoping folks continue to buy the small smartphones. This way he can buy another Ferrari.

Do you really care what strangers think of you?

But I kind of agree :p

Also I talk with my earbuds a lot when I do talk which isn't all the time

No you can't, fact is fact. That is all.

You need to be able to distinguish facts from delusion.

Yep everyone talking with a large smartphone looks like a tool. I guess everyone you see on your planet is the same height, with the same sizes hands, same sized head, etc. etc.

The only one justifying their purchase is YOU, that is truly all.

And keep dreaming the differences are minimal.

I'm very surprised by the General responses on here.

I have had an iPhone 6 since release day, and I have had many days where my phone dies completely or I have to charge mid-day. I am a very heavy user, I use my phone to do most things electronically now. A lot of times by the time I get out of bed I've already lost 10% battery life if I lay there for a while.

I have been intrigued by the 6+ since release day, and I decided on a whim to get a 6+ with an extra upgrade I had. Expected to get here on Tuesday. While I am excited about the bigger screen and hopefully significantly extended battery life vs. a 6, I am already dreading the phone in my pocket. Ordered thru Apple, so have a 14 day trial with the 6+.

Funny thing is that the biggest reason for my upgrade is battery life. Battery life is so crucial to me that I consider it a differentiating feature. I'm hoping I'll be able to adjust to the screen size of the 6+ as quickly as I did going to a 6, but we'll see. (I'm aware of battery cases but don't like the fragmentation they cause with chargers)

I wouldn't say people look like tools but I totally agree the differences are minimal with the size being the only significant factor in choosing between the two devices. It simply comes down to whether or not the person can manage the larger phone day to day. For me personally I could not, therefore love the 6 which is much bigger than previous phones anyway.

For anybody worried about inferiority, don't, these phones are equally as good. Enjoy your choice. ;)

I get two days of moderate usage out of my 6. That is, I take it off the charger on Monday morning and will need to charge it Tuesday night. Usually my usage reads 8 to 10 hours. No music streaming, mostly email, Safari, and Kindle/iBooks. Coming from a three year old 4s which could only last me three hours, this is a huge improvement. But, a friend of mine has a 6+ and says its battery life is just really good, so if battery life is important to you I'd say go for the 6+. Personally I like the more compact size of the 6, but after using my friend's 6+ for a while i felt it wasn't as bad as my first impression.

My issue with battery cases on the 6 is they make it ridiculously long, and heavy relative to the screen size. I have a Zerolemon Slim Juicer case (3100mah). I don't like it much at all. In my eyes if you NEED to add one to your 6 you might as well get a Plus and get the other benefits along with it.

For my 6, I may pick up an external battery charger. I can just keep it with me on long day trips with the family, and plug into during meals or something.

Good luck with the Plus. Hopefully you're the type of person that adjusts to the size without much issue. I wasn't one of them, but I do miss the no-need-to-think-about-it battery life and the larger screen.

The plus has an awesome battery...one of the best I have ever used...I think it will be exactly what you are looking for. Like I said the phone in hand for me was ok after I got use to it at first my hand actually hurt its very wide as well as long. The problem was answering a phone call, getting it in and out my purse or pocket, answering a quick text...all that was a hassle that I just dont have with the 6. use it for the 14 days and see, it may be just fine for you.

The 6 is very good, the Plus is great.

The main reason folks opt for the 6 is the smaller size, that isn't the case with folks going from the 6 to the Plus, there is much more to it than just its size.

Surprised no one even mentions the audio quality. Another big reason I opted for the Plus, the speaker is phenomenal. Even the earphone output.

The Plus is so much more immersive for games and video as well. I guess not a factor if one isn't planning on using their smartphone for that but I see those being in the minority of not even bothering with that occasionally at least.

Of course trying it is the best recommendation. From what I've experienced with reading these threads, the person does not go back to the 6 a majority of the time after witnessing the Plus. And I bet a lesser chance of going to the 6S as well, I'm not planning to.

I got the 6+ on launch day and kept it a week. The 6 is a better size for me. I loved the screen on the plus but it wasnt enough for me to keep it. I love the 6 but it's really up to the user to decide.

It sounds like you made the right choice for yourself. The Plus wouldn't be right for me because the size is its biggest stumbling block, excuse the pun. I'll be honest I don't play any games on my mobile and I don't view many videos, apart from those that friends put on Facebook. I doubt those are the highest quality either. I have an iPad Air and if I want to browse Amazon Prime video I tend to use that because the screen is bigger, and much bigger than both. I dare say the Plus would be fine for this, but using it isn't the problem for me, it's the carrying.

A couple of my mate at work had the Plus when it first came out and there was a bit of Micky taking to begin with aimed at me because I went for the safe option, but both those guys traded for the 6 after a few weeks. I'm not suggesting it's not a great phone, they both are, but from the comparisons I have done I would say they both have very minor pro's and cons. As you say it's best to use them and decide what you feel is best for you.

Like several others in this thread, I had been experiencing 6+ envy for a little while now. I got the 6 on launch day and have enjoyed it, but several people I work with have gotten the 6+ and seem to really love the big screen. Finally, I decided to give the 6+ a go and bought an unlocked version a few days ago, figuring I could return it within the 14 days if I didn't like it. Here are my thoughts for anyone who cares:

Screen: While the screen is definitely, noticeably nicer than on the 6, it's not leaps and bounds better. I always thought Apple was low-balling the "Retina" threshold at 326 ppi by just a tiny bit. At this resolution, I notice the occasional jaggie, though it is rare and I have to be holding the phone close to my face (lying down in bed is the most common instance). With the 401 ppi on the the 6+, I didn't notice any jaggies, which was nice. But, beyond that, I didn't really notice any huge differences between the screens beyond the extra space on the plus. Colors were the same, and I even found the screen on my 6 to be a bit brighter than on the 6+. I don't know, I guess with the way some of the 6+ owners on here describe their screens I was expecting more of a dramatic difference. The screen on the 6+ is definitely better, but it didn't blow me away.

Typing: Typing in portrait was definitely improved on the 6+ using two hands thanks to the wider physical dimensions. I finally felt this was a phone I could comfortably hold and fit two thumbs for typing. Typing in landscape was another story though. With all the focus on landscape mode on the 6+, I was expecting the typing experience to be great. It wasn't. Rather than make the keyboard any bigger, Apple just added 2 more columns of function keys from the 6 and move the letter keys further to the middle. I was shocked to discover I now had to stretch my thumbs to reach the center of the keyboard thanks to the massive bezels on the top and bottom of the 6+. Apple needs to redesign this keyboard or offer a split keyboard option like on the iPad. Typing one-handed was a no-go in either orientation. But, I was expecting that going in so no surprise there.

Camera: The OIS definitely helps, but only subtly. I compared a bunch of photos taken with both phones and the 6+ does better with small, fine details, especially in low light. Beyond that, no real difference between the two.

Battery Life: Definitely better than on the 6. But, I never really had a huge problem with getting through the day on my 6. Occasionally, I need to throw it on the charger for 20-30 mins if I'm going out in the evening, but that's not a huge hardship.

Ergonomics: Terrible for me. I really, really wanted to love this phone for the bigger screen, and better camera. But, I just could not find a way to hold the thing in a way that was comfortable to me. In portrait, I felt like I had to hold it at least half way up or the weight of the top might cause it to flip out of my hand. But, doing this made reaching the home button a stretch. Reaching the power button required at least a little bit of sliding, depending on where my hand was. In landscape, I already mentioned the issue with typing. But, just holding the phone one handed in landscape felt a bit awkward too. Surprisingly to me, pocketability really wasn't an issue. The 6+ fit into every pair of jeans and shorts I have without much issue. I did notice it there more than the 6, but it was never uncomfortable.

Verdict: I'll be returning the 6+ tomorrow and sticking with my 6. The bigger screen is nice, though it definitely doesn't get anywhere near iPad territory in terms of real-estate (i.e. it still "feels" like a phone much more than a tablet). The camera and battery life are better, though the differences are not as dramatic as one might expect. At the end of the day, the ergonomics were what killed it for me. I just couldn't find a comfortable way to use the thing. The screen on the 6 may be smaller, but it doesn't feel cramped. And, I find the tradeoff to be worth it for a phone that is vastly more comfortable to use (for me).

In the end, it's a personal decision and there is no wrong answer. I'm glad I had a few days to try out the 6+. It's a neat device and there is clearly a demand for it. But, for me at least, smaller is better.

Over the holiday season I decided to buy a 6 plus for the heck of it to take advantage of the longer return period. I already owned a 6 and wanted to see what I was missing. A friend of mine also owned a 6 plus and I admit I felt a little jealous when he pulled his out so I took the plunge. I was going out of town for a week and figured it would be the perfect time to put it to the test! At first it was alarming at how large it was and how awkward a form factor. It was definitely not a one handed phone. Also I realized in clutch situations it was rather cumbersome. Going through airport security, grabbing my luggage, whenever I wanted to take a quick photo, texting someone quickly. But on the other hand it was great to get attention when I was using it. Watching videos, surfing the web and reading. But then that was one of the things that bothered me too. I couldn't do anything without people seeing everything I was doing on my phone! When I texted a friend or read an email or watched a video. Everyone was looking at what I was doing. I'm a rather to myself person and didn't like that very much.

After my return I realized that it just wasn't for me. I thought portability was more important. Also I couldn't justify the extra cost of $200 (unlocked version) more for a larger screen just wasn't worth it. I mean they are the same phone. The iPhone 6 has a great battery (relative to the phone. Of course the 6 plus is going to have better as it is a larger phone), OIS (software based) and a great screen. If you can honestly tell with your eyes the difference between the 6 and 6 plus screen then your really have great eyesight!

The last story I have is when I returned my 6 plus the Apple employee chuckled and said "Too big huh?" I said "How did you know?" He then mentioned that after Christmas a lot of people were returning the 6 plus in exchange for a 6 and that that was he was seeing it returned the most.

dont think they where being nosy, but instead admiring the 6+ from a far. #

I have a 6 and think it's a great phone. The 6+ was just too much heft for me. The 6 is easy to use, easy to carry, and easy to pocket. And personally, I think it's way more attractive than the 5 it replaced. I love the phone, but to each his own.

The reason no one mentions it is because there is no difference. LOL

Get them side by side and u will notice the difference, my wife noticed this after using my 6+ for a few hours to watch neflix. And call my attention to it. Her 6 audio isn't as loud and clear as my 6+. I would have never known this if she didn't call my attention to it. But it all makes sense though since the 6+ is much bigger.

I own both of them (6 for my working number, 6+ for personal) and both are fantastic. But really, after been using 6+ i think that it is much better, and for me there is no turning back to smaller screens and (mostly) the battery life of 6+ is AWESOME.

I curse the day that I bought the 6+. Its 1080p screen and battery life have spoiled me rotten and now, try as I might switch to the 6, I am personally dissatisfied with it.

If I had just started with the 6, I could have avoided this! It looks like I'm doomed to a cycle of crystal clear quality and power out the wazoo.

Come on Apple, meet me in the middle! 5 inch screen, 1080p, the battery of the 6 plus. Please?
