Apple is reaching at $200.00. As a convenience item, i'm in at $75.00 to $100.00.Most of my devices are charged at work throughout the day including my watch. I love apple, but sometimes they go to far - how can a charging pad cost the be just 129.00 less than a new iPad? I'll wait for a licensed 3rd party product.

Because real charging mats don't exist right now and this will be the first mainstream one, it's all 1 product per coil right now and this is a real charging mat where on a small surface up to 3 devices can charge. That's kinda a big deal.

Really isn't...

50$ for what a essentially three wireless chargers? You’re funny.

Would cost $63 for 3 of the Anker QI pads which are one of the Wirecutters top picks. If this thing is $200 then that is absolutely absurd.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if if was priced that high tbh. Apples is tone deaf when it comes to pricing. They can push the premium price point to an extent with an iPhone/iPad/Mac because for the most part they are premium products with enough to set them apart from the alternatives.

File this kind of thing alongside the Apple TV. At best on par with the competition but at a much higher price point.

You’re paying a premium for technology that isn’t on the market anywhere. Nowhere else can you get a single device that can charge three devices without there being a sweet spot that you have to have the devices on. It’s more advanced than what’s on the market right now.

I read something yesterday that said wireless iPhone charging puts more strain on the battery and can reduce the life of the battery, since it's constantly charging. Since this is a somewhat new technology / first iteration for Apple, I'm holding off on getting a wireless charging mat. :)

The mat's ability to charge multiple devices will be achieved with a propriety technology developed by Apple. Apple said it will work to have its technology become part of the universal Qi standard supported by the latest iPhones.

Like they said they were going to do with FaceTime?

Do what with facetime? Open it up as a standard so that third party apps can use it? Yeah right.

Maybe you're confusing the concept with allowing third party apps to the iphone facetime camera...

that would only happen if you play on keeping your phone for more than 3-4 years..you shouldn't hold off worrying about something like that

I only charge my phone via wireless charging at night. love having this option.

You really think people who have a iPhone X and a new Apple watch care about money or the difference between 100 and 200 dollars?

Actually I care. I’m not paying $200 just to charge my devices together. I won’t pay more than $70.

..and I won't pay anything, because each device comes with a (free) charger in the box.

And I don't mind the 1.5 seconds it takes to plug in the lightning cable.

K, well, it's March. Where is it?
It's like a joke at this point. They announced it what, seven months ago?

Flashback to WWDC 2013. MacPro previewed then and dropped seven months later.

AirPower, HomePod, BeatsX, AirPods....am I missing anything else that was pushed back after announcement (although I suppose AirPower wasn't really "pushed back").
