This will never sell.
I mean, what absolute idiot would pay out $49 for something that looks at hideous as this…… do they think the world is full of fools?
Hang on, wait a minute 😂😂

If you don't buy something direct from source or a trusted and authorised reseller, everything is caveat emptor.

People don't buy a $40 LV bag from a market believing it's just a great deal and the same bag they would pay $2,500 direct from LV. The same for the $150 Rolex which should cost $6,500.

The market for fake items is worth billions because people are willing to buy them. It is what it is. Fakes are so convincing that people are willing to wear/carry them whilst pretending they are real.

Sure, people could buy this Watch Pro fake and try to sell it as the real thing, but again, caveat emptor. You are not going to see these being listed by Apple or an authorised reseller.

💯

I wouldn't be shocked if it was exactly like this watch.

I do have to laugh at this feature...no Messenger, it's a um...wrist Massager! 🤣

I like that white band on the Ultra. That’s a good look.

I'll buy one when they are available in the US. I got rid of my apple watch and iPhone because of the massive privacy risk in the Apple ecosystem. I can mitigate the privacy risk on an iMac so I still have that and I have my earpod pro in a faraday case when not in use.

Not the first time I’ve heard about privacy issues with Apple. I have a buddy of mine that no longer uses iMessage because of it. The reasoning and explanation behind it, I’m still unsure about? 😑

If you want fitness and sleep tracking, it doesn't get better than Whoop. I hate their overpriced bands, and the subscription model sucks, but it's the best science out there and the band/device is smaller than most wearables. I almost got the Garmin Enduro 2, but it's huge and I can't sleep with a 50mm watch.

Will look into this. Thanks for sharing.

If you (or your friend ;)) uses the Apple Watch to just have a watch on your wrist that looks expensive and tells the time, then yes, your argument makes sense.
However, I use many more features of my Apple Watch like health tracking, notifications from my phone, even taking calls when I have the phone stowed in a bag or pocket. This might or might not work with the cheap copy, at least it's a hassle to have two devices with differing functionality paired with your phone.

Smartwatches are computers on our wrist, just like Smartphones are computers in our pockets. I have zero desire to have a luxury watch on besides attending nice dinners and extravagant events when the functionality of an Apple Watch gives so much more for the value. I’m still hoping for an upscale Apple Watch Pro for business consumers!

This is just a tiny tip of the iceberg of why India is not a good destination.
Perhaps. So Apple should instead be looking for a country with a willingness and ability to go after infringement complaints, large-scale technical manufacturing capacity, political stability, and cheap labor driven by a lower standard of living. Anyone?

It's nobody's concern but Apple's if they don't like it.

Imagine pebble were making smart watches long before the first Apple watch. Now they are copying Apple.

Let’s see… $49 or $799?

Can they copy the cloth for $3

why not. Apple is rich enough.

Some might argue an $800 smart watch is a ripoff.

this shows more how apple is ripping us off, than how someone is ripping apple

From $50 to $800, what Apple has added in the ultra watch to justify such a steep price.

What amazes me most in the discussions here is how even such obvious and blatant infringement on Apple's intellectual property brings out the haters spinning this to make Apple the bad guy.

If you think Apple's prices are too high, look for discounts or just don't buy the product.
If you hate Apple as a company so much, what are you even doing in this forum?
If you think the $50 plastic watch is in any way comparable to the original product, well...

Bought the kids an Amazon Fire HD tablet each for Christmas. Very cheap at £50 each.
You get what you pay for I understand. But the OS is so flakey. Apps (mostly games) often crash and freezes are pretty common. If Amazon can't make a rip-off OS, I can't imagine what these Chinese versions are like.
Left a review saying the tablet was good but the OS feels like it's still in beta, but now I keep getting Amazon calling me!

Cheap and will be mostly useless because of that reason. Apple watch had a good vision but sub optimal execution. Who needs or cares of a full os to run on it. They should target multi day battery life. Simple other features like bp monitoring is where apple can really add value. Otherwise it is mostly a show piece.

I have to say, I am pretty impressed by their zero F’s given attitude…. I mean they didn’t even try to change the colors, nothing…. Just went for it

Steve Jobs, 1996: "Good Artists Copy, Great Artists Steal"

Seems like a karmic boomerang effect, LOL! ;)

Yep, ever walk into a Harbor Freight tool store? DeWalt, Milwaukee, Craftsman knockoffs going out the backdoor of the Chinese factory while the name brands go out the front door. Friend of mine always buys the cheap stuff and says he juts tosses it when it breaks and buys a new one, still cheaper than buying the name brand.
Call me old-fashioned but tools should be expected to be built to last. The throwaway mindset is more wasteful in the end environmentally speaking and sometimes financially speaking.

I'm happy with my Walmart Wyze watch for $39. Does 80% of what I need and battery last over 5 days between charge. :p

I like Wyze as a company. They seem to be just trying to build reasonable things at reasonable prices. I have one of their cameras and the cordless vac, both good. And when I dropped the vac down the stairs and busted the casing on it, they sent me a replacement and refused to charge me for it. What's this got to do with the Pebble Watch? Nothing, just like your comment, but hey - I appreciate you :)
