You can order on apple's website too and they are allowing orders on Feb 9th for deliver or pickup in an apple store on the 10.
I'm sure I'll get a phone if I go in on the 10th (earliest I can get it) but all this hype has me too stressed out. I know it's only a phone but I've been waiting since the beginning for this phone and I can't handle my storm one more day.

Sad thing is, once the pre-order has passed smoothly, then my OCD brain is going to reset the timer for the arrival of the FedEx delivery truck.
I'm so excited about getting the iphone, I took off work next week LOL! Of course, I only work two days the 9th and 10th, but I want to be sure I'm here if it delivers on those days, and if it's early, well I get a lot of time to play with it!!!!!!!!

How many times can you hit "refresh" on the order status page for the tracking number magically appears?
Answer: as many times as you can hit "refresh" on the fedex tracking site waiting for "Out for Delivery" to change to "Delivered."
While I hate adding to the Verizon iPhone "noise," I do have to say I've been waiting for this day to come since June, 2007.
It is funny how excited we are to pre-order. It may just be a pre-order but it assures it is coming within a week.
Is it sad that I actually dreamt about the iPhone last night? Probably.
In the dream, there was a pre-order "party" that had to be attended at designated centers in each town, in some building, in order to get the iPhone. Of course, I had trouble getting to the party. A sign for trouble on the servers tonight?

I know the VZW pre-order beings at 3am EST, but the email to pre-order from Apple just says a limited number will be available on Feb. 3rd. Will the App store also allow pre-orders beginning at 3am?
The worst thing ever has happened to me!!! I just got a text from Verizon saying my bill is past due!!! I paid it two weeks ago and they are just now telling me this!!!
I thought I paid with my debit card, but no, it was my checking account. I had the money when I paid it, but it took two weeks for the check to go through??? So now I owe 160.00!!!!!!!! No iphone for me!
I had saved money back in my paypal account, plus sold items on ebay to pay for the 32gig phone, now I will have to use most of the money to pay my bill. Why did this have to happen now? I have never had this happen before! So sad!
The thing is I get paid Thursday at midnight, but it will be too late by then to preorder the iphone!

Why would I have to pre-order apps when I could buy them now if i felt like it and then put them on my iphone or ipad whenever?
Slightly off-topic observation about society not necessarily geared to you but your unfortunate circumstance has reminded me:
This is why you keep a register in your checkbook and write down all your purchases that come from your checking acccount - including both debit card purchases, check purchases, PayPal type stuff that comes from your checking account, etc. Hell, if I buy something on my debit card, I put the receipt in my wallet and at the end of the day write all the amounts down in my checkbook. If somebody doesn't cash your check or delays in withdrawing money for whatever reason, that doesn't mean you "have" that amount in your checking account..
I'm "only" in my mid-20s but this seems to be a completely foreign idea to my friends and people my age. I seem to be the only young person I know who does this. I've been doing this since I was a teenager and have never bounced a check, overdrawn my account, anything of the sort. It's always kind of puzzled me that people seemingly younger than the baby-boomer generation don't do this. My friends always have to check their bank accounts online to see "how much money they have" but it's never accurate because not everything withdraws instantly and so they are constantly overdrawing their accounts and getting NSFs. It's just amazing how much hassle the seemingly outdated/obsolete check-register has saved me over the years.

you can always preorder through apple.com on the 9th and either have it delivered or in store pick up at the apple store. all is not lost.

What app do you use? I have to order my check registers online nowadays because my stupid bank doesn't give them to me anymore with my checks.. Maybe an app would come in handy!

when i spoke to a VZW rep last night, they told me they only charge the card when the phone ships. The phones will not ship 2/3, maybe a few days after. If you can hurry up, get the bill paid and order the phone tonight you may be okay as long as you actually get money into your account (and don't spend it!)
I use Balance Pro; Pro is an in-app purchase.
Really basic app, but that is all that is needed. You put in the amount in each account then make a new entry for each purchase or deposit.
