Another ooh and ahh thread (Don’t read if your a hater)

I’ve owned many iPhones and the X is unreal. I keep staring at it because it doesn’t even seem real. Everything from the animation, the painting like screen, the gestures, that Taptic Engine, the tone change, that phenomenal full screen (especially viewing photos), and the damn absolute perfect premium quality of the device in my hand is blowing my mind. I’m usually able to take these devices for what they are and have my honeymoon phase end almost immediately after using it..but this one is special.

Anybody else not able to stop using/looking at this thing?

It's kind of amazing. All I see are comments of complete enamour or disdian. It's almost never in the middle.

I am just over here still wondering if the price point was worth it. Should I have just replaced the batter in my 6s plus and gone three years? Well, I sold that for much more than I expected so can't really go back, but I can't help but feel I overspent. Ah well. It certainly is a beautiful phone. Aside from the cost ond having to reach all the way to the top right to get to my toggles, I honestly have no complaints. Not even regarding that "terrible" notch.

I gotta agree with you. And it didn’t fully set in until a few days ago just how outstanding this device is. I got it on launch day and was happy right away but still had to adjust to all the differences for a few days. Now with that adjustment out of the way, I’m just admiring every aspect of this phone. I came from a 7 Plus, which I thought was a terrific phone, but the X is seriously next-level, inside and out. It’s like fast-forwarding three years.

The build and feel, materials, shape, and appearance are stunning. It’s like a phone version of the stainless steel Apple Watch, except better.

The display is outrageously great. Try watching an iTunes HDR/Dolby Vision movie on it. I recommend The Martian. It’s jaw-dropping. And it makes my photos and videos look amazing. Boy, if they could put a display like this in an iPad, I’d order it immediately.

The smoothness and speed is nuts. The OS animations are so good, it changes the entire feel of using it compared to my 7 Plus. I did not expect that at all.

The best part is realizing that it will only get better over time, as Apple and app developers learn to take full advantage of this. Apple just updated Clips and I used it to make a Star Wars hologram video of myself. It was really cool.

Two thumbs up for sure.

I too was *this close* to keeping my iPhone 6s for a third year-at the last minute I decide to purchase the new iPhone X and just love it.

The screen is gorgeous and love the updated camera.
I’m in the same situation. My 6S has served me well for two years but, I’m ready for a different kind of iPhone. I’ll keep the 6S as backup but, iPhone X is definitely in my near future.

You won’t be disappointed. It’s different for sure, in the best possible way

I think Apple finally broke away from what we have seen with the iPhone 6/6/6s/7/8 and implemented some really intuitive features with gesture controls, Face ID and overall how smooth everything operates with the new iPhone X. It really makes it a seamless experience.

I feel the X is telepathic and knows what you are about to do and just does it! That shows how responsive & fluid it is

Albeit reading on the go is not as pleasurable as the 7+, seeing the X is a tad too narrow

Still... day 2 and loving it !!:)

What phone did you use before the X?

Slow down. It's a great phone and I own one, but it is about equal to the Galaxy S8, which I also own. The problem is that Apple has used old technology for so long, when they finally move up it's viewed like it's a miracle.

You say that based on what? That Samsung has been using OLED for years? Thats a narrow view and doesn’t make the iPhone X a “catch up” device.

Apple has been years ahead of Samsung in many important respects. Apple CPUs are widely regarded as industry-leading. The A11 benchmarks better than an Intel I5. The Snapdragon is way behind. You feel this difference every time you use the phone.

iOS is way more efficient and polished than Android+Touchwiz.

The build quality of the X far exceeds anything Samsung has put out.

Samsung has face authentication first but from everything I read, it sucks. FaceID is an entirely more advanced technology and works much better.

I fail to see how Apple is or has been behind Samsung as you say.
