According to the internet, EVERY preorder for an Apple product was the worst!

This, and that every new product is rubbish, not innovative and that Apple are losing their way..... It's all utter nonsense.

Just take a look at the similar threads below we get them every year.

Agreed. Personally, it was by far the worst. Not been able to get a reservation and will now have to wait for whenever stock becomes available for 7+ (shipping in November already..!)

Not saying it will be this easy where you are, but every single launch in Southern California I was able to go to the Best Buy in Manhattan Beach El Segundo and grab as many Verizon unlocked paid in full iphones as I wanted on day one...., I could walk back in the next few days and get some more for family members. They were always in stock, never had an issue.

I would walk past scores of people waiting for the AT&T versions and those always seemed to be sold out for some reason, but 128 GB for Verizon was always in stock and Verizon works on all / most of the carriers.

Pre-ordering was super smooth for me. I had checked out by 3:04 eastern time for a 7+ 128GB in Jet Black. It really does look like there weren't any of that model to be had on launch though, mine is scheduled for the week of the 26th.

The point is that they can't, for whatever reason, give everyone the same experience.

Technically, this can't be extremely impossible. I'd imagine the database to be the bottleneck, but it looks like some sort of cache in the middle causes most of the pain.
