Because I have no idea what I'm looking at? From your videos it seems like it's an auto-brightness issue. Does this happen when you disable auto-brightness?
yes. Have you seen a slight flickering and color shift?
Look at the keyboard
I haven't seen this earlier. I'm worring about it
it can be software issue?
It's as if there's a slight dimming or flickering on the screen after watching a video, photo or scrolling through an Instagram for example which results in an uneven tint.

I’ve never seen that before, sorry. Maybe play with accessibility and auto brightness settings?

When I enable the white point (feature), it gets stuck in this bug because it dims the bright colors. For example, when I get a 20% battery notification, the screen goes back to normal and the bug is gone away, until I tap the screen again."

When this display bug happens, the screen looks green tinting at the bottom because it dims it. But when there's no this bug and I look at photos or videos in order to remove this bug for a few seconds until this bug back, the display's colors are perfect.

without night shift and tt. look at the right corner of the keyboard. I went back from the photo in the gallery

with tt and night shift/ the same look at the keyboard/ but i haven't seen this before on ios 18/ idk help friends/ it can be software issue? who know?

I haven’t seen that before, sorry. Maybe someone else can chime in. Otherwise contact Apple support if possible. There’s also the nuclear option of doing a factory reset to see if that helps.

Hi everyone new here.

I went through 3 iPhone Airs.

My first two were LG GVC screens (Both 256 GB Space Black). Not perfectly uniform (not as noticeable) but didn't like the quality of the panel.

My current one has a G9Q screen (512 GB Space Black). I like the panel much better but its not uniform ):
More warmer color at the bottom of the screen. Zero tint color from any angle.

Should I just keep it? Leaning towards keeping it.

Since it sounds like it could be a good enough screen, give yourself a 14 day worry free break to live with it. Do not think about the issue, or look for/try to notice it while using. If the issue brings itself to your attention multiple times during the return window, exchange. If you never notice it again under your normal use, keep it.

Let see what screens you guys have.

I have a LG screen (GVC) on my 17 pro max and has a bad case of screen (green) tinting when moving the bottom of the screen away from my face. Also it has a greenish tint overall when facing straight to my face.
It could be because my 13 pro max is 4 years old and has cumulative 1000’s of hours of screen on time (blue pixels degrade the fastest and red will be more dominant). Colours look somewhat washed out too. Coming from a 13 pro max, which had a perfect screen with better colours, it’s a little disappointing.

Is the lottery a thing again with this generation?

copy / pasted the following from reddit and worked for me:

For those wondering how to check your display manufacturer...

You can run sysdiagnose on your phone (press volume up, volume down, and lock button) all together for around a second. You will feel the phone vibrate.

Wait a couple of minutes and then go to Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Analytics and Improvements -> Analytics Data.

You will then scroll down and look for a file titled: sysdiagnose_XXXXXXXX.

You will click on that file and then click the arrow in the upper right hand corner and scroll down and click “Save to Files” Once it is saved you will go into your files and click the file to unpack it.

Within the folder that is unpacked you will click on the folder “ioreg” and then click the file “IODeviceTree”.

You will then use the magnifying search glass in the bottom right hand corner to search “raw-panel”. It will then give you a serial number.

I have an LG display which has the beginning letters of GH3.

GVC is the best of the LG panels but not as good as Samsung’s best which is the G9N.

The top 3 panels are:

• Samsung G9N • Samsung G9Q • LG GVC

The worst panel is LG GH3.”

Doesn't seem to work on my Pro 17. It just toggles the power off. To clarify I'm pressing both volume buttons, as well as the lock button on the top right side at the same time.

Just to add I'm super happy with the screen, as it's completely uniform without any tint issues.

Edit: Figured it out.

G9N. Screen is super nice.

Let us know how it looks. I’m getting my second express replacement next week and I’m nervous
The replacement is a GH3 that looks about the same as my previous GVC in regard to green tinting. Haven’t noticed many differences between the two but it feels like the GH3 looks slightly better overall after a few hours of use.

Often and for long durations.

I already explained earlier, but I wear contact lenses for myopia. At night I don’t, which means I need to hold the screen closer to my face than people with normal vision. When I do that, there is unavoidably a wide range of viewing angles from top to bottom of the display, so I get an extreme colour shift across the display even while holding it still and at the best angle (that is, there is no good angle for BOTH the top and bottom of the screen at the same time).

Also, with today’s huge phones I do the little juggle that everyone does when they need to touch the top of the display one-handed. Having the screen flash traffic-light green during that manoeuvre is distracting and annoying. Why should it do that when ALL my previous iPhones did not?

I’m not saying anyone else should care about this. I’m just saying it doesn’t work for me.
All valid, thanks for your honest reply and not taking it as some personal attack like many would 👍🏼

I think im going to return it . it looks horrible. it'll be my third unit though, and im afraid of potential issues the next one will have. I probably look like a psychotic consumer to them

it's a shame because the camera is perfect, unlike the first one that was defective

Got a G9N panel on my 17 Pro Max 1TB Silver! Now I have two current generation iPhones with Samsung displays. 😁

After returning a 17PM with a GVC panel for an unrelated hardware issue, first I got a G9Q Air and second a G9N PM. These were both bought the first try without even starting a return/exchange loop of the same phone over and over to get a specific screen. I consider myself pretty lucky considering all the others I’ve seen posting about that in this very thread.

I was very skeptical but now I actually see first-hand, compared to the GVC PM and base 17 that I personally had, the Samsung panels are actually much brighter, sharper, have more vivid colors, and better contrast. This is all along with having no green tint when tilting the phone, and that does happen occasionally when doing those hand gymnastics to reach farther parts of the display.

Uniformity does seem a little less even, but that’s not really a huge trade-off for me considering I got a much more punchy display with stunning colors and sharpness. The text just pops and has no fuzziness.

I still won’t say that these Samsung screens are always better than the LG panels, and LG is probably still better at producing a uniform display, but at least in my experience, yeah they are just so much nicer. I can’t believe I “won” this lottery without even playing.

My G9Q Air looked way better than my GVC 17PM. Returned the Air for battery capacity.

Update!

I tried again. LG GVC screen (256 GB Space Black). Screen similar to my previous two screens. Slight blue shift downward (normal). Noticed a slight red shift on the top side (notif area) from an extreme upward angle (thats a first). I can't even tell if this one is uniform anymore (don't think it is, less obvious than my previous Air screen(G9Q) though). I give up. Will keep this one. Good luck to anyone else hunting!
