Other Those who have a Pro Max

This year I am going from a Max to a regular Pro. It's getting annoying for me carrying it around, but I am suspecting that my silicone case is really what annoys me the most. It gets annoying having it grip up the pockets too.

It is! Didn't like wife's 13PM and liked 14PM - turns out swapping silicone for leather worked out for me. Now going with any light case and PM - silicone is very heavy.

Yeah I wonder if it really is the silicone case that is causing the annoyance. I was recently given a 13 as a work phone and I really do enjoy the size of it. Now I'm wondering if I should just not upgrade/"downgrade" to the 15 pro and just buy another case if that does the trick.

I would keep it as long as you know your phone. Lighter case should help out - screen protector also adds-up i would say.
Unfortunately i can't keep wife's 14PM because its' battery is at 88% and has a deep scratch that is very visible. Trade-in it goes i decided.

Battery is definitely a concern for me too. I was at a nice 99% all year up until last week when it tanked to 93% now.

Yeah, we need to see how it goes with the prices - trade-in and asking. If the price to upgrade is 380-480 then replacing battery would run for $100 which is cutting into the gap. Good old dilemma: repair old car or spend that money on another car and sell the current?
 
I have tiny elf hands, and I've been using the Plus/Max size phones ever since they have been an option. For me, the size is perfect, and in comparison, the non Max phones look and feel tiny to me. Expect an adjustment period - the phone will feel huge and unwieldy for a week or two until you get used to it, but then will just be your normal.

Anyone using a case for their Pro Max that also closes over the screen to protect it, a wallet type case? Do they make the phone too bulky when in the pocket?

That was the best folio ever imo, had one for my X was great for travelling.
Mrs loves the Nomad Brown Leather folio, goes in a handbag though.

I had a rough time the year the iPhone 12 Pro came out and I was recovering from carpal tunnel syndrome. (I’m a petite woman). I discovered it wasn’t the weight that was giving me the worst pain but the weight distribution. I tried the 12 Pro Max and it had the weight more evenly distributed across the whole giant body of the phone so my hand cramped less while holding it.

The 13 Pro I tried the following year didn’t seem to have a weight distribution issue that bothered me so I didn’t feel the need to go to the Max.

But the reason I have gone with the 14 Pro Max and plan on the 15 Pro Max are because I can go longer between charging the battery and it’s less cramped for typing. Larger display is nicer to look at.

It IS sometimes a pain fitting the largest iPhone into some purse pockets and the weight does drag on my jeans pockets. But honestly the regular Pro phones are also heavy enough to feel like a drag on pockets.

My adult daughter has the same problem with her regular 14 Pro. She’s never dropped a phone as much as this one. Mostly it’s been sliding out of pockets. She’s going back to a regular 15.

Combined with the curved edges on the 15 pro max and titanium frame which is lighter, the 15 Pro max should be an easier and more comfortable phone to hold in the hand than previous max models. I’m coming from a 13 Pro and may upgrade to the 15 Pro Max if this is the case.

Do you go caseless? I’m mixing it up, sometimes with, sometimes without. My biggest problem with going caseless especially in the winter and with a matte finish is slipperiness. I could go without cases easily on my 12 mini with that shiny but easily grippy surface and the small size.

When I had an iPhone 4 and 5s I often didn’t use cases. I did drop and dent my 5s once and ironically it was in a folio case at the time. The only times I’ve actually ever damaged iPhones has been in folio cases as I fumbled opening them! So I don’t use them anymore.

I use the Pitaka MagEZ case. It makes the 13 Pro much easier and comfortable to hold in the hand. It has rounded edges on it, feels great in hand and it’s slim. I’m not a fan of the sharp corners on their 13 pro. I’m glad the 15 is going back to rounded off edges. my favorite iPhone design was the X. it was so comfortable to hold in hand. I went naked with the iPhone X.

Pro Max don’t bother me what so ever. I hated big iPhones in the last. Now I hate smaller screen iPhones. Nothing like that bigger screen. Bigger battery. I’m about to be 40. So believe me I prefer the bigger iPhone. I can imagine next year the screen will get bigger on the 16. Looking forward to that.

The side edge is really important. I have large hands and can reach every bit of the screen on my 11 Pro, and the X before, with just one hand - but not on the 14 Pro. It's the sharp straight edge, it's uncomfortable. Who knows with the 15? The photos seem to suggest it's more 14 than X in this regard.

In which case you might as well buy a Max, if it forces 2-hand operation.
 
Great size but too heavy and the sharp edged design make it uncomfortable to hold. Needs a 25% weight reduction and a smoother shape, otherwise once you have used the larger screen you will not want to go back. Also the placement of controls mean you end with a lot of screen shots when you pick the thing up since you need to grip it more tightly due to its weight. It is an ergonomic disaster in my opinion and much prefer the Samsung S23 button layout, which is still problematic at times.
 
Have the 14 PM since almost 6 months, coming from the mini and non-pro regular. The Pro Max is a big phone! Heck, even the Pro is a “big” phone. So, I’ll rather have the max with bigger screen and battery since both of them are not really one-hand phones anyway. By time I have learned to actually do quite some one-hand manoeuvres on it to keep me happy, not that uncomfortable imho, and I can’t be blamed to have big hands by any means. And yes, I’m also using two hands a fair amount of times, but can’t say it bothers me. It’s a good mix of one and two hand use as you get used to the phone. I’m really happy I got the max due to my current need of big screen and battery due to I’m a heavy user by work and really need it when on the go and travelling.

None of PM sized iPhones has ever replaced my iPad or MacBook. I still gravitate to the smaller and easier to carry iPhone pro max. It really isn’t as big as people say it is. For couch and bed viewing Pro Max wins.

I really love the width of the Max for two thumb typing but I find the height awkward. I have average sized male hands. I need to shift my hands at times to reach the top.

Having said that, as a current 14 Pro owner, I'm considering the 15 Pro Max because I miss the typing experience and the titanium will make it lighter than the 14 Pro Max, which was really heavy.

The natural progression from your iPhone X IMO would be the 15 Pro. That would be my recommendation if you like the size of the X. But if you want to try a larger iPhone, go for it.
