I use it a bit more than I used to: movies, screenshots, camera, photo editing, some texting, writing, phone calls, web and email, but I'll argue that the price point is ridiculous with carrier fees on top of everything else.

While I would rather go to an SE, I do need a bigger screen (so I am not sure if I'd do that and get an iPad for the heavy lifting or just try another iPhone +.)

I used to like my iPhone 6S, now I like more the Samsung S7 Edge. There's a big difference between screens, fast charge, camera at night etc........ it was so obvious when I used the Samsung S7 that I realised my iPhone is ****, and stop the same about it only works, because AirDrop never work, iCloud is always full with a backup I don't find and can't delete, the damn useless battery, also it is not as expensive as some of you think.. I am like disappointed, like when you have something and you stop to feel great for using it, like there's something better

The Samsung S7 is fresh, I'm admitting it does have better hardware as far as screen and camera go and being waterproof and just about everything else is better...... But one thing remains it's a Damn Android bloatware dream come true... If Apple could do something similar to Samsung in the hardware department , but with its awesome iOS we'd have something....

Really? Aside from better contrast is the screen better by subjective measurement. Does burn in negate betterness? Is the cpu, gpu, accelerometer, Lte chip, wifi chip better? Is a Ford F-150 better than a Ferrari due to a tow hitch? Does glue in holes somehow make hardware better? Or by subjective preference you pick the phone that works best for you, because all of the objective measurements put together as ratings still amounts to preference.

Yep totally agree. The iPhone is clearly the Ford car and the Samsung S7 the Ferrari

@tomi03 I am with you on this I also jumped ship for the S7 Edge. It is the first time that any Android device has surpassed an iPhone for me. I was very surprised as I was expecting to be disappointed as I have been in the past with Samsung and Android. The times they are a changing and Apple's stock value is beginning to reflect this.

I was a die hard iPhone fan since the original came out. It is still a great phone but it certainly isn't the only one in it's class now. competition will continue to get fiercer and Apple is about to unveil a 3 year old phone later this year from all accounts.

If that turns out to be the case and it is more expensive or the same price, I would find it hard to see value at that point.

It does feel odd not using an Apple phone and my roommate is on a 6 S plus but when i look at the two side by side I just do not feel any remorse about switching. Apple had better do something drastic and something very soon to stop the bleeding. At least update your laptops so I feel I can purchase something without feeling a bit swindled.

As others have said the thrill is gone. You can't sell me a $1,000 phone (when you add in the ridiculous upgrade to get enough memory) 3 years in a row without me taking a look at my options.

I like my 6s plus and had no stress paying for it but honestly I use my ipad way more than my phone. Everything I can do on my phone I can do on my ipad including make/receive calls for the very few times I do.

I'm an iPhone owner and a big fan's I'm just saying the Samsung screen is higher resolution further advanced technology than the current iPhones.. I like my iPhone screen just fine, but Samsung screen is better on most fronts if you ask the majority of people.

The Samsung camera is stupid good, it's sharper than the current iPhones. I don't even like Samsung, hate them but I can't deny some of the hardware. And it's waterproof to?

I expect network, Wi-Fi, sensors, GPS, etc etc to be up to standards on any phone... Those things are the things we expect to be standard

Ye, I feel bad now, like I could have a better phone, actually I'm asking to change this iPhone 6S, srsly it looks garbage next to the Samsung S7 Edge. Sometimes people need to admit that iPhones aren't the best, they were, but right now Samsung ftw, and this next iPhone 7 in my opinion can't compete with the S7 Edge, you guys need to test the Samsung, it's like driving a Ford aka the iPhone and try a Ferrari aka the S7 by Samsung. No comparison

I wouldn't say Ferrari vs Ford is completely accurate. Although the S7 Edge is widely recognized as the sleeker of the two phones aesthetically. The main problem for Apple is that this years release should have been the one they are planning to release in 2017. Everybody wants the latest and the greatest and this years release will miss the mark assuming rumors are true and lately they have been painstakingly true.

I may very well switch back someday to the iPhone but what has changed for me forever now is I will always be looking at the competition before buying. If you told me a year ago I would be using a Samsung and preferring it, I would have told you that you are crazy

Yes, I'm using the comparison some persons do here, but you're right, I'm just disappointed really, it's not the same, Samsung completely owned Apple in a pretty bad way, and not only that I've read that the new Android N has a lot of new stuff and live apps, that's more advanced than some bad notifications in bubbles, stickers/animations snapchat copycat iMessages that no one uses at school or country, we use whatsapp and snapchat. I am totally dissatisfied with Apple, as soon I change my phone bye bye to my apps and iOS for a longgg time, maybe not because iPad and MacBook, but that's the idea, no more iPhone until they start to copy or improve what Samsung has done with the Galaxy S7 Edge, so ya **** apple and **** this iPhone 6S, Samsung right now is better

Another aspect to the discussion around if the iPhone is over priced or not is what country you live in. In some places the cost is utterly absurd.

Are iPhones overpriced? Even as someone who has happily used iPhones for years I have to say that yes, they probably are.

There are a number of reasons why I've continued to use iPhones, not the least of which is simply out of familiarity, and the cost isn't that much of an issue for me especially since I've always bought on contract. But to be perfectly honest, there are now "budget" smartphones that can do most of what an iPhone can do at half the price or less. Dollar for dollar, Apple products are almost never the best, but that's not always the most important factor. I guess it depends on how much one values the advantages that Apple brings to the table.

Okay, I live in Thailand and the iPhone 6S plus 16 GB is 30,500 Baht, now we know that most people will not want the 16 GB model, so I would say the 64GB is a fairer comparison. Which comes out to be 34,500 Baht. The S7 Edge which of course comes only in 34 GB but easily and cheaply expanded is 26,900 Baht. That is a savings of 7,600 Baht or $215, which is actually quite a bit. For around $80 you can max it out at 200 GB. So that is 29,715 Baht which still comes in under the 16 GB model and is 8,875 Baht or $249.58 cheaper for a phone with nearly twice the storage as Apple's top model.

So one conclusion that could be made is that if the Iphone isn't over priced, which I feel it is, then the price of their memory upgrades certainly are.

For some people $250 isn't a lot of money but as a comparison percentage wise go the iPhone is by far the most expensive flagship phone out there. At least in the market I buy them anyway.

I can afford what I want to buy but this is the first time price comparisons had a direct impact on my final purchase.

So basically the Ford is better due to a tow hitch. Even though the Ferrari is faster. Got it.

Greenbot.com has an comparison between the cameras of the two models. The s7 is not "stupid good better" and has plenty of flaws compared to the 6S; you can find the review yourself. Lack of video stabilization on 4K for the s7? One can go round and round and pick everything apart, but in the end, IMO, the s7 is not light years ahead as some say. You did say the hardware is better and by whose yardstick are we using here.

Well take a look online at all the reviews out there at this point. The consensus is pretty much unanimous that the s7 edge is on the top of the game right now. I haven't found one that says otherwise. Some of the reviews vary in opinions but if you can show me one where it says the iPhone is a clear winner, I am all ears.

You are blind if you really believe an iPhone these days is better than the new galaxy s7 edge, and your post only reflect a fanaticism for Apple

Been buying iPhone's since the first generation. When it comes to tech... if I like what I read/see, I'm willing to spend the money. Compared to my other hobbies, flagship mobile phones are cheap. All that matters to me, is if I enjoy what I purchased. Most of the time I enjoy what I buy... but once in a while I'll be a little disappointed. I hope the future iPhone's out does Samsung... and I feel the same way the other way around. If they out do each other... better for us. Currently using the S7 edge... and I've been enjoying it a lot. Battery life is great, Always on Display, no side bezel, 5.5 MOLED and size of phone feels good as my wife's 6s. The flaws of the camera doesn't bother me... takes great pics and focus is very fast, the expandable storage is useful and cheap. Love the wireless fast charge stand... at $40... I bought 2 of them. I prefer iOS... especially when jailbroken... but there is a lot of features I like on the s7 edge. Not a android fanboy... I still carry a 6+, and we have a 6s, SE, and 3 iPads in the house... so I'm far from being a Apple hater. I'm just a fan of tech... and I buy what I think I'll enjoy the most. Currently, I'm enjoying the heck out of my s7 edge, but can't wait to see what the next iPhone has to offer. Love this competition.

Yes, it is indeed nice that there finally is real competition. Now isn't the time for either company to rest on their laurels.

So now ad-hominem attacks are the rule, when an opinion (which is subjective by nature) is not agreed to? Got it. Maybe "fanboism" runs rampant on all sides.

Hahahahaha, nothing like that, you are just denying facts, and you aren't subjective, not with these comparisons, just accept the new iPhone 6S/Plus can't compete against a good phone like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

It depends really on what you are looking for in a phone. If it was a black and white as you put it. Everyone would buy the S7 and nobody would buy the iPhone. Some have switched to the S7/S7 edge only to switch back. On paper the S7 edge blows the 6s plus away but specs are not everything for many people.

:), When road and track tests cars and they proclaim a vehicle the "winner" for any given segment, does that make that vehicle automatically the "best"? I was going to say what @Shanghaichica said above and this applies to the r&t analogy. A phone is more than specs and even with a spec sheet, some are unwilling to see the truth of how minute the differences are in the new model vs the older model.

It's not only specs, it's everything even design
